chapter99
A deep, resonant voice suddenly echoed from the wellness clinic’s lobby.
The voice was loud enough that Romina, who was in the restroom, could hear it clearly.
Just from the sound, she knew exactly who had arrived.
“Romi’s in the restroom. If you need something, wait for her in the lounge!”
As Romina was about to open the door, she heard Miguel’s displeased response, followed by the sound of a man striding toward the lounge.
She quickly wiped the tears from her cheeks, her eyes suddenly turning cold.
Afterposing herself, she finally opened the door and walked out.
Miguel pointed toward the lounge. “Romi, he’s here.”
Romina nodded knowingly.
Although neither of them mentioned the person’s name, they both understood.
When she entered the lounge, she saw Jericho sitting on the sofa, his long legs crossed, one hand resting on the armrest, exuding a heavy, oppressive aura.
When he saw here in, he lifted his deep, shimmering eyes, looking at her with cold indifference.
“What are you doing here?”
Romina closed the door behind her and sat down directly on the sofa opposite him.
“What else could I be doing? Of course, I’m here to get an exnation,” Jericho said, his brows fur- rowed, his voice tinged with displeasure. “From the day at the Bowman’s mansion until now, you still haven’t given me a satisfactory answer. Don’t you think you owe me an exnation?”
Romina suddenly let out a cold, mockingugh.
She thought this matter was over, but to her surprise, this infuriating man still wouldn’t let it go.
“I’ve already said it before–it was she who insulted me first, so I hit her,” Romina said bluntly. “I didn’t investigate, but I know that she was involved in framing the wellness clinic!”

“Are you really going to keep holding on to this?”
The man’s hand clenched tightly in an instant, his face full of displeasure.

Romina sneered, “Aren’t you the one who won’t let it go? I wasn’t even nning to deal with her, but she schemed against me behind my back. I haven’t even retaliated yet, and you’re already so anxious. If I do fight back, are you going to put a knife to my throat?”
“Wasn’t pping her once enough? What more do you want to do?”
“Of course it’s not enough!” Romina’s voice rose. “On the very first day of my opening, they sent me such a ‘gift.‘ Can they afford the losses they caused my wellness clinic? This is a matter of life and death! Do you think this is just a game?”
“It was Valery who did this, that’s true. But she is she, and Nadine is Nadine. Please don’t lump them to- gether!”
“So you came here today just to tell me this?”
Romina didn’t respond to him. Instead, she stood up from the sofa.
“I said, as long as you apologize to Nadine, I won’t pursue this matter any further.”
Jericho also stood up from the sofa, looking at her with a cold expression.
The corners of the man’s eyes were tinged with red.
A captivating smile curled at the corner of Romina’s lips. “You want me to apologize?”
Jericho said bluntly, “Yes!”
The smile at the corner of Romina’s lips remained.
She enunciated each word, “Keep dreaming!”
As soon as she said this, the air around the man grew even colder.
“Romina, you…”
“Please leave immediately. Don’t waste any more of my time with patients.”
Romina instinctively reached out, pointing directly at the door, her eyes filled with icy resolve.
Jericho was so angry that his chest heaved, but he couldn’t utter a single word.
The man strode away, but just as he reached the door, Romina’s voice rang out behind him: “I hope to-

day is thest time we ever bring up what happened that day. If you mention it again, I won’t mind y- ing along! If ites to it, we’ll go down together!”
Jericho’s steps stopped instantly.
He turned to look in her direction, and Romina’s gaze was even colder than before.
When did she start being so tough with him?
She used to be so gentle, always going along with whatever he said…
“Click-”
After the man left, the door mmed shut with a heavy thud.
The loud sound of the door closing startled the entire space.
When Romina opened the door and walked out, Jericho’s figure was already gone from the lobby.
Miguel nced in the direction Jericho had left, then looked back at Romina.
Taking advantage of a lull between patients, he got up and walked over to Romina.
He stopped in front of her, asking with concern, “Romi, he didn’t do anything to you, did he?”
Romina withdrew her gaze and looked at Miguel beside her, her tone calm. “No.”
