chapter97
“Juggling so many roles really isn’t easy,” Elliana said with a faint smile. “So when do you n to take his order? Or are you not nning to take it at all?”
“We’ll talk about itter!”
Romina responded indifferently and headed upstairs.
“What do you mean, ‘talk about itter“?” Elliana couldn’t help butugh. “If Joaquin heard that, would- n’t he be furious? He’se over several times, so it must be something important that needs fixing…”
Romina stopped in her tracks and nced back at her. “It probably is important, maybe a gift from someone he likes!”
“Someone he likes?” Elliana caught up, a bit surprised. “Joaquin has someone he likes?”
“Yes.” Romina continued walking upstairs, her voice low. “He told me himself, and it’s a married wom- an.”
“A married woman?” Elliana was a bit shocked. “That dramatic?”
At that moment, Romina’s mind was flooded with images of the kiss they sharedst night, leaving her heart in turmoil.
“Maybe it was someone he used to like, and she got marriedter…” Elliana gossiped. “But that doesn’t make sense! With Joaquin’s looks and physique, he’s top–tier among men, and his career is thriving. There’s no reason he couldn’t win over the woman he likes.”
Romina stopped walking again.
Her hand was already gripping the doorknob to her room.
After thinking for a moment, she looked back at Elliana. “When did you be as gossipy as Miguel?”
“I’m not gossiping, I just find it strange. With Joaquin’s abilities, let alone a married woman, even mar- rying an eighteen–year–old girl wouldn’t seem out of ce.”
“If you’re that curious, why not go ask him yourself?”
Romina looked at her seriously, her expression darkening for a moment.

“Why would I ask about that? I’m not interested in him…” Elliana frowned at her. “But why do you seem so impatient when I bring it up?”
“I’m not impatient.” Romina softened her tone and said calmly, “Maybe I’m just a bit tired today, don’t take it personally.”
Thinking back on her tone just now, it was indeed less gentle than usual and a bit more irritable.
“It’s fine. If you’re tired, take a shower and get some rest early.”
“Okay.”
Romina nodded and entered her bedroom.
“Ding-”
A message popped up on her phone screen, sent from her secondary SIM card.
After swiping the screen with her fingertip, Romina lowered her eyes to read the words, her brows fur- rowing again.
“Ms. Rose, sorry to bother you. I’ve tried to contact you several times, but you haven’t answered, so I had to reach out this way.”
“I have a very important quartz pendant that broke and needs urgent repair. You can name your price, as long as you can fix it as soon as possible.”
Romina stared at the message, her mood growing even more chaotic.
She still hadn’t sorted out the issues at the wellness clinic, and she happened to take on a new order that afternoon. She knew she wouldn’t be able to take on any more work for a while–she simply didn’t have the time.
Besides, the quartz pendant was very small and intricately made, making the repair extremely difficult. It would take at least ten days to two weeks to finish.
For now, she really didn’t want to have too much contact with him.
Romina thought for a moment, then quickly typed a line and sent it to Joaquin.
“Ding-”
A message notification popped up on Joaquin’s phone.
The man instinctively withdrew his gaze from the window and looked down at his phone screen.

“I’m very sorry, but my voice has been hoarsetely, so I can’t take calls. For personal reasons, I can’t ept any orders at the moment. Thank you for your understanding.”
“Mr. Bowman, did that Rose reply to your message?”
Erick was driving and nced at the man in the back seat through the rearview mirror, his brows fur- rowing for a moment.
Joaquin lowered his voice and said, “Yes.”
“So what did she say? Did she agree?”
There was a visible look of anticipation in Erick’s eyes, and his voice was full of hope.
“No.” Joaquin’s tone was cold. “She said she can’t take any orders for personal reasons right now.”
“Really? Is Rose that hard to deal with? Everyone in the industry says she’s easy to talk to, but she doesn’t seem like the rumors at all.”
Joaquin turned off his phone screen, his voice much lower. “Keep looking while we wait. Don’t put all our hopes on one person.”
“Alright, Mr. Bowman.” Erick’s grip on the steering wheel tightened for a moment. “I’ll ask around againter.”
“Okay.”
After responding, the man leaned back in his seat and fell silent.
“Mr. Bowman.” Erick nced at the rearview mirror again, his voice much lower. “There’s something I need to report to you.”
