chapter42
He hurriedly ended the call and walked toward the ward.
After Romina entered the ward, Hayden, perhaps awakened by
the sound of the door opening, also woke up.
“Don’t move, Grandpa, let me remove the needles for you…”
Romina quickly approached, keeping Hayden in his original
position.
“Alright.” Hayden smiled and said, “Romi, I feel much better
now, my chest doesn’t feel so tight anymore.””
“Really…”
Romina looked at him with a bright smile, then focused on
removing Hayden’s needles.
Just as she removed thest needle, Joaquin happened to return
to the ward entrance.
“Doctor, please check on my grandpa.”
“Alright.”
The man stopped in his tracks when he heard the voice.
At this moment, the atmosphere in the room became especially
tense.
But Romina remained particrly calm, quietly tidying up her
things.
The doctor quickly took out his equipment, listened to
Hayden’s breathing, then looked at Romina in shock: “He really
has improved. Mrs. Bowman’s medical skills are truly
remarkable…”
After the doctor finished speaking, Romina just smiled faintly
and nodded to Hayden and the doctor.
“Doctor, are you sure my grandpa is alright?”
A look of surprise appeared in Jericho’s eyes.
In his impression, Romina’s medical skills were only mediocre.
Hayden’s current condition was so severe that even experts in
naturopathy didn’t dare attempt physical therapy, yet she had
resolved it so easily?
When did she be so skilled?
“Doctor, you must check carefully. If something happens after Ms. Sandoval leaves, it will be hard to exin.”
Seeing Romina about to leave, Nadine’s voice grew noticeably
sharper.
“He really is much better. And as far as I know, only the
legendary naturopathic doctor ‘Mie’ is capable of using physical
therapy to clear the fascia in such a short time. May I ask, Mrs.
Bowman, what is your rtionship with her?”
The doctor looked at Romina in astonishment, admiration
filling his eyes.
Everyone’s attention was now focused on Romina.
Romina had intended to leave, but her steps suddenly paused.
Mie.
That name was actually her nickname.
It was given to her by Joshua, and only Joshua ever called her
that.
Ever since Joshua passed away, Romina had always
remembered his teachings: saving lives is a doctor’s duty, not
for money or profit, but for the well-being of ordinary people.
She had used this name to save lives for more than ten years.
The only people who truly knew her identity were Elliana and
her senior brother, Terry Gomez.
Terry was Joshua’s only direct disciple, but he had lived
incognito for many years, saving lives, which led to the rumor
that she was Joshua’s only disciple.
She had only studied medicine under Joshua, who taught her
all his skills, but he never acknowledged her as his disciple.
“If Romi doesn’t want to talk about it, don’t force her.”
Seeing that Romina remained silent, Hayden stepped in to
smooth things over for her.
Romina’s lips curved into a faint smile: “I don’t know the doctor
you mentioned, nor do I have any connection with her. Since
Grandpa is better now, I’ll be leaving. If he needs anything, you
can contact me anytime.”
After Romina spoke, Nadine, standing to the side, showed a
barely noticeable look of disdain.
She had always known that Romina was just a housewife.
Apart from carving quartz and some mediocre medical skills,
she was good for nothing else!
How could she possibly know any renowned naturopathic
doctor?
“Alright, Romi, take care!”
A gentle smile appeared on Hayden’s face as he watched her
leave.
Jericho also watched her departing figure, his eyes full of
surprise.
He couldn’t shake the feeling that this woman was hiding
something from him…
Hearing footsteps approaching, Joaquin, who was standing at
the door, shifted his body and leaned against the wall.
Romina left in a direction away from him.
When she left, she had no idea Joaquin was still standing at the
door.
The man watched her departing figure, his gaze suddenly
darkening.
He reached out his well-defined hand, took out his phone, and
dialed his assistant.
“Mr. Bowman, are you looking for me?”
The man gazed at the graceful figure, and only after she
entered the elevator did he withdraw his gaze and say into the
phone, “Help me conduct a thorough investigation on Romina. I
need all her information from childhood to now…”
“Ms. Sandoval?” Erick’s surprised voice came through the
phone. “Mr. Bowman, isn’t she Jericho’s wife? Why do you
want to investigate her?”
Joaquin’s expression darkened. “Erick, is this your first day
working with me?”
Erick, who had juste out of the meeting room across the
hall, suddenly didn’t even dare to breathe.
He rarely interfered in Joaquin’s personal affairs, and Joaquin
especially disliked people prying into matters he intended to
handle himself.
