chapter30
Elliana sneered, “I heard Nadine’spany is holding an event
at that hotel tonight, and Nadine will be attending. She must be
here for rehearsal. I didn’t expect that dog of a man to show up
too. He’s really devoted, isn’t he? Why don’t they just tie
themselves together?”
Dog of a man.
When those three words reached her ears, Romina didn’t even
blink.
Every time Jericho upset Romina in the past, Elliana would
curse him right in front of her.
But every time, she would defend that man, trying to ease
Elliana’s anger.
But now, she no longer had any desire to argue.
Nor did she feel like making excuses for him.
“Romina, are you all right?”
Elliana noticed her face had darkened a little and asked
curiously.
“What could be wrong with me?” Romina changed the subject.
“Please help me investigate Lina as soon as possible. I have to
find the child quickly.””
“Okay, I’ll do it as soon as I can.”
When Romina arrived home, she received a call from Hayden.
He asked about her recovery, and Romina remembered the
promise she made while she was in the hospital.
Once she was better, she would visit him at the Bowman’s
mansion.
The next day, after handling the preparations for the wellness
clinic, she took a cab to the Bowman’s mansion.
By the time she arrived at the Bowman’s mansion, it was
already close to evening.
Lenora wasn’t home, so Hayden personally weed her.
Just as they were about to eat, a familiar voice sounded at the
door.
“Great-grandpa, we’re back.”
Hearing the voice, Romina looked up and saw Jericho holding
Kashton’s hand, walking into the living room.
Seeing the surprise on both their faces, Romina immediately
knew this wasn’t a coincidence-Hayden must have called
them back on purpose.
“Mom? Aren’t you getting a divorce from Dad? Why are you
here?”
The implication was that since she was about to get divorced,
she shouldn’t be at the Bowman’s mansion.
Romina was about to respond, but Hayden spoke first: “Kash,
don’t be rude to your mother. Come over here to me.”
“Okay””
Kashton fell silent and ran over to Hayden.
“There are lots of new flowers in the backyard. I’ll take Kash
out for a walk. Call us when it’s time to eat.””
Without waiting for a reply, Hayden took the child’s hand and
walked toward the door.
The butler, who had been waiting nearby, followed them out.
At that moment, only Jericho and Romina were left in the
living room.
It was clear to both of them that Hayden was giving them a
chance to be alone together.
“Why did youe here?”
Romina had no intention of responding to him and headed for
the bathroom.
Seeing that she didn’t answer, the man followed her.
When Romina didn’t reply, Jericho caught up with her in the
hallway and grabbed her hand. “If you don’t want a divorce,
just tell me directly. There’s no need to have Grandpa pass on
the message.”
“I don’t want to divorce you?” Romina stopped in her tracks, her
voice puzzled. “What makes you think I don’t want a divorce?”
“If you want a divorce, then why did youe to see Grandpa?
You know he’s always been against us getting divorced. If it
weren’t for him interfering, I would have signed the papers long ago! Now you’reing to see him—are you having
second thoughts?”
Romina tried to break free from his grip, but the man’s hand on
her arm only tightened.
“How did I never realize before that you’re the type to imagine
things that aren’t there?”
“Imagine things?”
The man was stunned for a moment, surprise flickering in his
eyes.
He was clearly very dissatisfied with what she said.
“I want a divorce, and I’m not just saying it. The only reason I
came back today is because when I was in the hospital a few
days ago, Grandpa kept saying he wanted to see me. I promised
I’d visit him after I was discharged. I didn’t expect him to have
youe back too.”
If she had known they would be there, she wouldn’t have set
foot in the Bowman’s mansion no matter what.
But she didn’t say thatst part out loud.
“Then go convince Grandpa. As soon as you do, I’ll sign the
papers right away.”
“The problem is with you. The one who should be solving it is
you, not me!”
Romina struggled hard and finally pulled her hand free from
his grasp.
“What problem do I have?”
Just as she was about to leave, the man suddenly raised his
arms and trapped her between them.
Romina was instantly unable to move.
She looked up at him, her tone icy. “You were the one who
crossed the line first, and now you’re questioning me? Don’t
you think that’s ridiculous?”
