Sad Tears 16

“Jericho and I havee to the end of our road,” she said tly.

“The process is what really matters. Because… the endings are

    always the same.”

The sorrow in her eyes was more than palpable.

Jericho truly knew nothing about their marriage-nor did he

understand what had happened between them. But from her

words and expression, he could tell she intended to step aside,

leaving Jericho free to be with another woman.

Sensing his silence, Romina nned to leave.

“It’s gettingte. Mr. Bowman, get some rest. I’ll be out of your

    hair.”

    She turned to leave.

But Joaquin called out, “Ms. Sandoval.”

    “Yes?”

He handed her a business card. “Marriage among powerful

families isn’t as simple as you imagine. Tough as it may be,

getting a divorce is even harder. If you need help, let me know.”

She was stunned as her gaze fell upon the card.

After the divorce, she’d take half of Jericho’s assets. Of course,

she knew what Joaquin was implying.

She was simply surprised to hear he’d help her.

Sensing her silence, he added, “Mywyer team is top of the

field. You cane to me anytime you want.”

    “Thank you, Mr. Bowman.”

After pondering for a few seconds, she reached out and took the

    card.

Then he offered, “It seems you haven’t fully recovered. Would

you like my driver to give you a ride?”

“That won’t be necessary.” She nced back at him, her

charming eyes softening. “It’s easier to get a cab here than at the

    Bowman’s mansion. I’ll manage.”

Then she headed toward the door without waiting for his reply.

Fixing his gaze on her retreating figure, he curved his lips

    uncontrobly.

Chances were, she wouldn’t seek him out easily.

He knew this, but still gave her his card.

Because … only a few could pique his interest.

As her footsteps faded into the distance, his phone on the desk

    rang.

He answered, and Erick’s voice came through. “Mr. Bowman, I

just found out-all the top artisans say only Rose can fix your

quartz. But nobody’s heard from her in the past three years. It’s

like she’s vanished into thin air.”

“Keep looking. Find her at all costs,” he said resolutely.

He walked to the floor-to-ceiling window again and gazed

coldly at the night outside, his face reflected in the ss.

The quartz carved with an orchid was the only keepsake his

mother left behind. It had been broken identally, and he had

had Erick searching for someone who could fix it ever since his

    return.

    “Yes, Mr. Bowman,” Erick said.

On his way to take Nadine home together with Kashton,

Jericho received a call from Lenora.

She told him Hayden had flown into a rage after they left,

wanting him to go back and calm Hayden down.

Jericho had always respected Hayden. Naturally, he agreed.

“But… Can Kash make it? He’s still weak,” Nadine, who had been

waiting in the car, asked softly.

“I’m fine, Nadi. In fact, I’m feeling much better now!”

Nestling in her arms, Kashton smiled.

It was past 9:00 p.m. when they came back to the Bowman’s

    mansion.

Still furious, Hayden refused toe downstairs, so Lenora

went up to talk him around. Meanwhile, the rest waited on the

    sofa.

Feeling bored, Kashton looked around before fixing his gaze on

Nadine. “Nadi, today was the first time visiting our home. I’m

sorry for what happened. I hope you won’t think less of us.”

The smile on Nadine’s face faded a little. “Who would’ve

thought the family reunion would end in such a mess?”

“No need to dwell on it. Both Kash and I know who did it.

Besides, you weren’t responsible for ruining the dinner, so don’t

    feel guilty, alright?”

Though Jericho kept a straight face, his tone was exceptionally

    gentle.

Her eyes reddened as she nodded and instinctively leaned closer

    to him slightly.
