<h4>Chapter 254: AS A BETA</h4>


    TO BE honest, Gong Hanseo didn’t think that he needed to marry Seong Kyungmin since they had been dating for seven years now, and living together for five years.


    They were practically married.


    But, of course, being legally married had its own benefits, too.


    <i>If something happens to the other, we can be each other’s legal guardians. Although both Kyungmin Hyung and I are adults, there are things that I can’t do for him because I’m not rted to him. Being his lover is not enough in the legal aspect of our rtionship.</i>


    Hence, being married would solve that problem.


    "I’m notining, but why did you finally agree to marry me, Hanseo-ya?" Seong Kyungmin asked while ying with Gong Hanseo’s left hand. To be precise, he was staring at the engagement ring as if he couldn’t believe that Gong Hanseo had finally worn it. "Have I finally proved my love to you?"


    "I have never doubted your love for me, Hyung," Gong Hanseo admitted. "It was me who was insecure all this time. As a Beta, I believe that Alphas belong to Omegas and vice versa."


    Seong Kyungmin immediately lifted his head, obviously protesting.


    But before his lover could say anything, he beat him to it.

    "At least, that was what I used to believe. But not anymore," Gong Hanseo assured Seong Kyungmin, who looked relieved. "I know I should have known it from the start, but not all Alpha and Omega who ended up together were meant to be together forever. Now I know that your Secondary Gender has nothing to do with your feelings. That Alphas and Omegas aren’t ve to your pheromones."


    It wasn’t like there was no Omega who tried to seduce Seong Kyungmin, even knowing that Seong Kyungmin was already living with his lover.


    Hence, Seong Kyungmin didn’t even bat an eye at those people.


    His lover remained loyal, even though he had no way of knowing if ever Seong Kyungmin decided to cheat on him.


    After all, he couldn’t smell pheromones.


    Gong Hanseo remembered the one time that Lim Garam got upset in his ce.

    Seong Kyungmin frowned.


    It wasn’t the first time that Gong Hanseo shared that particr worry that he had with his lover.

    "Babe, my Secondary Gender has nothing to do with my feelings," Seong Kyungmin said gently. "I won’t fall for someone else just because they have pheromones. I chose you because you were the one whom I have fallen in love with."


    "And I know that now," Gong Hanseo said, smiling. And then he sat on Seong Kyungmin’sp, who immediately wrapped his arms around his waist. "Thank you for being patient with me, Hyung. And thank you for waiting for me for this long."


    "Gong Hanseo, you’re worth the wait."


    Aww.


    "I want to get married as soon as possible," Gong Hanseo said, wrapping his arms around Seong Kyungmin’s neck. "But is it okay if we hold a solemn wedding ceremony, Hyung? I don’t want a huge wedding ceremony."


    He remembered Lim Garam’s wedding ceremony.


    It was held in a castle, with over a hundred guests.


    Needless to say, it was a wedding befitting of a chaebol.


    <i>But just thinking of holding a huge ceremony like that is already making me anxious.</i>


    "We’ll do anything you want, babe. It’s our wedding— and you’re the boss," Seong Kyungmin said, wrapping his arms around Gong Hanseo’s waist and kissing him on the top of his head. "And don’t worry about the budget, babe. The sky is the limit."


    Gong Hanseo chuckled, kissing Seong Kyungmin on the cheek. "Thank you, Hyung."

    GONG HANSEO’s two-week dream-like vacation ended as soon as they returned to South Korea.


    Unfortunately, his fiancé had to return to work the next day.


    He was nning to rest at home and tell Lim Garam about his engagement.

    Yes, it was Gong Hanseo’s Omega mother.

    "Yes, Mother-inw," Gong Hanseo said, since he didn’t have a reason to deny it. "I finally epted Kyungmin Hyung’s marriage proposal."


    His mother-inw looked at Gong Hanseo coldly. "I don’t want a Beta to marry my excellent Alpha son. Why would you do that when you can’t give my precious son a child? Are you trying to end our bloodline? Even if you adopt a child, it won’t be the same. I don’t want a grandchild who doesn’t carry our blood."


    Ouch.


    Everything that his mother-inw said hurt Gong Hanseo deeply.


    After all, he was already insecure by the fact that he couldn’t give Seong Kyungmin a child.


    However, he didn’t let him get to him.


    So, Gong Hanseo did what he knew he should— he immediately called Seong Kyungmin.


    Yes, right in front of his mother-inw.


    Thankfully, his lover immediately picked up the call.
