Chapter 159 Childishly adorable

Marcelo, however, remained stoic, feigning sleep as he leaned back. Secretly, he was acutely aware of every single touch and he tried his best to act unaffected.

Renee, in her mind, didn’t think she was entirely wrong for leaving without consulting Marcelo. Firstly, her hasty exit was understandable given her mood. Secondly, she pondered that Marcelo might have preferred her to leave so he could stay longer at Vivian’s party.

The real issue was her abrupt return, awkwardly asking if he was leaving as well.

Had he chosen to stay, perhaps she would be the one upset now.

But Marcelo’s immediate departure, souring Vivian’s mood really pleased Renee. Happy with this oue, she felt inclined to cate him.

As the Phantom rolled to a stop at the main porch of the house, Marcelo exited the car first, with Renee following closely behind.

The servants had already opened the door, awaiting the arrival of their master and his wife. “Marcelo, wait!” Renee called out.

As Marcelo was about to step inside, Renee made a sudden move. She grabbed his tie, swiftly pulling him aside and pressing him against the wall.

Marcelo, taken aback by her bold action, was momentarily caught off bnce and then startled to find himself against the wall. In the next instant, as he bent his head due to the pull on his tie, Renee’s soft lips met his in a gentle, sweet kiss. His eyes widened slightly, a hint of surprise flickering in them.

Renee noticed a look of shock in the dark depths of Marcelo’s eyes, a reaction she had never seen in him before. Before she could reflect on this, Marcelo acted. He lifted her by the waist, effortlessly reversing their positions.

Renee, losing her footing, instinctively clung to him. By the time she realized what had happened, she found herself pinned against the wall, her feet dangling and legs instinctively wrapping around his waist.

At that moment, as her legs coiled around him, Renee saw his lips curve into a smile. He seemed to be enjoying this, triumphant in his yfulness.

“Marcelo!” she eximed, pushing his face away, her eyes wide with a mix of surprise and fake anger.

But her sultry eyes, slightly reddened at the corners, cked any real threat. She looked more like an alluring, vibrant flower.

Marcelo’s gaze on Renee was intense and predatory, like a wolf eyeing its prey.

Renee, recognizing that look, knew exactly what it signified. “You…” she started.

“You have to take responsibility, Mrs. King,” He replied. He then carried her upstairs, holding her in a way that resembled carrying a child.

Marcelo knew that being discovered in such a position wouldn’t be embarrassing Renee. She valued her dignity, and the implications of their entrance into the hous obvious than discreet.

    but it would be for

    n a manner were more

To avoid being seen, Renee kept her face buried in his neck throughout his walk to the bedroom, too shy to look up.

Once inside the bedroom, Marcelo pressed her against the wall again, his impatience showing as he struggled with her jeans. He expressed his frustration with a click of his tongue. “You should have worn a skirt today.”

His audacity to be so particr in that moment made Renee frown. Before she could protest, however, his kiss silenced her.

The smart heater in the master bedroom had already warmed the room as they entered. Soon, Renee’s clothes were scattered across the floor, adding vibrant and colorful contrasts to the dark, sophisticated carpet.

“Wa–Wait!“Renee suddenly gasped, stopping him. “Use a condom. My pills are exhausted.I’ll get on a new n tomorrow,” she reminded.

Marcelo nced towards the bedside table, a good ten meters away, and for the first time cursed the expansive size of his bedroom.

In that moment, Marcelo was overwhelmed by a wave of impulsiveness.

“I don’t want to use it,” he said.

“No!” Renee countered, shaking her head emphatically. “I could get pregnant!”

“Then we’ll have a baby. We are legally married, Mrs. King

Marcelo mind wandered to the thought of a mini version of Renee, a little girl both delicate and charming.

“Marcelo, I’m not ready for kids yet!” There was a hint of desperation in Renee’s eyes as she pushed against his shoulders, knowing she couldn’t stop him if he insisted.

Realizing her distressed state,Marcelo remembered that Renee, despite being highly educated and aplished, was only twenty–two. Her peers were still in college, some might be done and still discovering themselves.

He then carried her to the bedside table, moving with quick determined steps.

The master bedroom echoed with his indulgent and caring voice.

    “Okay,you win,my wife.”

Soon after they made love, Renee, exhausted, fell into a deep sleep.

Marcelo, still awake and feeling good after helping her bathe, contemted working. But seeing her asleep on the bed, he decided to stay close, foregoing his study. He stepped out onto the balcony, lighting a cigarette, the red ember glowing in his strong hand.

His phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, he picked up the call and answered, “Vivian.”

“Marcelo, I’m really sorry about what happened today.“Vivian’s voice came through, filled with regret. “I was too concerned for my friend’s safety and ended up being rude to Miss Hudson. Please, could you pass on my apologies to her… Or maybe I could apologize in person, would that be alright?”

Vivian felt no regret for her attitude towards Renee. Since Marcelo had not taken her side and stood up for Alma, she decided to let it go.

After all, it seemed pointless to dwell on it.

Instead, she thought of a new n.

She intentionally called Marcelo in the middle of the night, hoping to irritate Renee.

Upon hearing that Vivian wanted to apologize to Renee, Marcelo looked towards the room, his expression softening.

“She’s asleep,” he said, suggesting that he couldn’t disturb her sleep for anyone.

    Vivian was taken aback.

    She was asleep?

Were they really sharing the same room?

    Sleeping together?

Even though she knew Marcelo and Renee were married, this detail stirred jealousy in her. After a pause, she said in a forced voice, “Marcelo, it seems like you really care about Miss Hudson.”

“Since you know we’re married. You can stop addressing her as Miss Hudson when you speak to me.Call her Mrs King.”

Vivian swallowed hard.“I…I get it…” Her voice quivered with tears. “I just don’t know if I can stille to you for help if something happens in the future. I’m worried about causing you trouble.”

“Yes,” Marcelo replied indifferently. “Vivian, my promise to my brother still stands.”

The following day, Renee rose with a weary body to pack her luggage.

Marcelo, leaning against the doorway of the walk–in closet, inquired, “How long will you be gone?”

    “A week, “Renee answered.

Marcelo suspected she wasn’t telling him everything.

“The show willst at most a day.” He frowned.

Renee rified, “The round trip takes two days, the Light show will probably take three days, then there’s a celebration dinner with the brand, and Freddy has also invited me to dinner.”

Her week was fully booked. If it weren’t for the bitter cold in Estoqua, she would have considered staying for more shows, extending her trip by another week.

“Is Freddy that idle? He’s always asking you out for meals? Marcelo asked.

He knew Freddy had no romantic feelings for Renee, but he couldn’t help feeling a twinge of annoyance.

Renee zipped up her suitcase, a smile creeping at the corners of her mouth.

Sometimes Marcelo could be so childishly adorable!
