Chapter 138 Invasion of privacy
At night, as Marcelo reclined on the bed, the woman lying next to m abruptly shifted and reached out to touch his thigh under the warm nket.
A shiver ran through his body, his muscles instinctively tensing. He looked up and saw Renee’s eyes gazing intensely at him. Her eyes were full of heartache and pity.
His arousal suddenly withered.
“Are you tired of pretending to be disabled?” Renee asked softly.
“What?” Marcelo raised his eyebrows slightly.
Why did she ask this question out of the blue?
Renee repeated, “Are you tired of pretending to be disabled?”
Ever since Marcelo started pretending to be disabled, his quality of life drastically declined. For nearly ten years, countless people ridiculed him constantly for being unable to walk. Enduring such emotional distress was not something an average person could handle.
What normal person didn’t want to run in the sun when they were young?
“Renee, are you feeling sorry for me?” he whispered in a hushed voice, cradling her face in one hand as he pressed his forehead against hers.
Renee answered without hesitation, “Yes.”
She felt sorry that Marcelo had to pretend to be disabled for his mother’s sake. She felt sorry that he had a grandfather who yed favorites, she felt sorry that he had to lose his older brother his father and now, he barely had his mother.
But more than anything else, she was sorry that he had to endure all of this and keep on sacrificing himself.
Marcelo’s heart skipped a beat and a smile lit up his eyes. He was slightly stunned, but couldn’t resist the urge to kiss her lips. As their lips met, his heart raced even faster.
This kiss was not motivated by lust.
It was gentle and soothing.
“Don’t worry,” Marcelo said. “Your husband won’t be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.”
He would not continue as a disabled person.
After all, he couldn’t allow her to feel sorry for him all the time.
Ever since they visited Paul, Marcelo had been in a gloomy mood. But a few words from Renee had lifted his spirit.
Due to how hard Marcelo and Renee went at itst night, she fell asleep a short whileter.
Marcelo stared at her sleeping face, a pleased smile on his face.
The peaceful silence in the room was shattered by the ringing of his phone.
Afraid that the noise would wake Renee up, Marcelo quickly picked up the phone and went to the balcony to answer it.
“Marcelo, I’ll be back on Friday. Are you free to pick me up?”
It was Vivian.
Marcelo was about to reply, but Vivian continued, “I haven’t returned home in a long time. I want to pay homage to Seb.Can you take me there?”

“Okay.”
Marcelo couldn’t turn her down on this.
Vivian said happily, “Then see you on Friday. I’ll send you my flight Information. I’d like to thank you in advance for picking me up.”
Marcelo frowned.
He was talking about the homage thing. How did Vivian automatically interpret that to mean that he would pick her up? However, Marcelo found it difficult to exin what he really meat, neither could he refuse to help her since they had known each other for many years.
Anyway, he was only going to pick her up from the airport, and it wasn’t something to make a big deal out of.
“Oh right, I almost forgot. It’s nighttime there. I didn’t disturb your rest, did I?“Vivian suddenly said.
Marcelo stared at Renee’s sleeping form and said, “No.”
His short answer left Vivian no choice but to say, “Then I won’t disturb you for now, Marcelo. Bye.”
“Bye.”
He hung up the phone immediately.
The smile on Vivian’s face froze, and she suddenly felt depressed
Ever since she was a child, she had known Marcelo to be apathetic. As she grew up, she became ustomed to it, believing that it was his personality. But now that she knew he was with Renee, his indifference towards her made her feel uneasy. Vivian suddenly regretted studying abroad.
As she berated herself for her decision to move abroad for further education, she wondered if Renee was jealous that she called Marcelo sote at night.
Of course Renee wasn’t jealous, because she might not know about the call at all.
Andrew’s antics at Dove Ind Bar became viral on the inte. To avoid embarrassment, Catherine did not return to school until thest day of that semester.
However, the second Catherine entered the ssroom, the ss president who was wearing a long face, immediately walked up to her. “Catherine, the teacher wants you toe see her at the dean’s office.”
“What happened?” Catherine was confused.
“You skipped Professor Walters’s ss before, and she flunked you. Besides, you… Just go.” The president’s expression was hard for Catherine to read.
As she made her way to the dean’s office, she could hear her ssmates questioning the president about what had urred.
“There’s a possibility that she’ll get expelled from school, and there is a recent post on the forum. I suggest you look at it yourself. It’s a big issue,” the president answered.
Get expelled from school?
Catherine found it absurd. She had only failed one ss, and she didn’t think that warranted being expelleam school.
Upon her arrival at the dean’s office, Catherine was met with a direct request from her teacher to have her parentse in for a meeting. It was clear that the teacher intended to have Catherine withdrawn from the school.

“Aren’t you being too harsh?“Catherine’s expression was filled with dissatisfaction. “I only missed one ss. Why did you fail me for that? Even if I failed that ss, I should have a chance to take a makeup exam.”
The teacher was amused by Catherine’s righteous expression. She raged, “Catherine, not only did you miss your major courses, but you also barely scraped by in two of them. And on top of that, it turns out you copied the assignment for the other two subjects. This is a clear vition of the University’s rules and regtions.
Also, I know that you only got to host the school festival because you bribed the person in charge to rece a ssmate who was originally chosen. You are a student who has been selected through unconventional means, so you should truly appreciate this chance, but it’s obvious that you don’t. Huh, you really act the same as your boyfriend called Andrew. You’re both hypocrites.”
Catherine’splexion drained of color. “How… how did youe about this information?”
“Check the forum and see for yourself. Everyone in the school knows about it.”
In the face of such hefty allegations, the school would have to take certain measures to prove to all its teachers and students that the school wouldn’t condole such offences.
Catherine suddenly remembered the forum she heard the president talking about.
She quickly took out her phone and opened said forum. Almost immediately, she found the post the president was talking about, and under it were a lot ofments.
Thements section was flooded with inquiries and insults directed towards Catherine. The varsity pro host, who lost her hosting position because of her, joined in to publicly criticize her.
“Who…who made this? This is an invasion of my privacy,“Catherine snapped.
Who could be so wicked?
“It doesn’t constitute an invasion of privacy.” The teacher didn’t want to waste any more of her time on Catherine. “You’ll tell your parents toe over to the school tomorrow and withdraw you from the school.”
