Chapter 134 Innocent man
Unfortunately for him, Andrew was too enraged to listen to reason. The only thing that registered to him was that the DJ was making excuses. Without another thought, Andrew pulled back his fist andnded a punch on the poor DJ’s face. The sound of the impact was further amplified by the numerous microphones installed in the booth, and it echoed around the hall. There was a collective gasp from the guests as they stared over in horror.
“What the fuck? Why is he hitting an innocent person?!”
“A pathetic attempt to cover his humiliation, no doubt.”
“With the way he’s acting, I’m inclined to believe that everything is true.”
At this point, the slide show had finished, but it started back from the beginning almost immediately. It seemed that whoever was behind it wanted to ensure that everyone got a good look at every single detail.
“Catherine, what’s going on?” A guest sidled up next to Catherine and spoke to her in a hushed voice. “Are those usations true?”
Her face was pale as a sheet.
She didn’t know, either. She had no idea what was going on!
Her first instinct was to deny it, of course, but Andrew’s actions just now deprived her of that option.
If they tried to refute the allegations, it would only result in a much worse bacsh.
Andrew was running amok, until he finally set his sights on the manager of the establishment. “You! Get your ass over here! What the hell is this, huh? Do you think you can afford to pay me damages if I take you to court for defamation? You bastard…”
He was cut off as several bodyguards surrounded him, and his hands were pulled behind his back. He was being restrained like amon criminal.
“Brawls arepletely forbidden in our establishment,” the manager said. “I’m afraid I need to ask you to leave, sir. You will also be banned from essing all the facilities of Dove Ind Resort permanently.”
The guests who overheard the exchange were taken aback. The scene was all too familiar.
“Is it a new trend for bars to cklist troublesome clients? First, it was the Venus Bar, and now, Dove Ind Bar.”
“Oh,Andrew is definitely in a pickle now. Those two are the biggest bars in town, and he isn’t allowed to step into both!”
“If you ask me, I think Andrew probably offended a big shot, I wonder who is behind it.”
At that same moment, the person in question was on the second floor, watching as Andrew went from being the star of the show to the frenzied, wild–eyed lunatic who was getting himself kicked out.
“Did you do this?“Renee asked Marcelo. She already knew the answer, of course.
“What do you think of my gift?” Marcelo asked, casting a sideways nce at her.
Andrew had the audacity to mock Renee by weaponizing his university degree and so–called academic honors.
That idiot didn’t even qualify for any of those things.
Andrew was a fool whose ambitions were leagues higher than the effort he was willing to put in. He had n to bully those who actually worked hard, and he deserved getting trampled on like the scum that he was.

“You…” Renee had to swallow before continuing. Her throat felt oddly dry. “When did you manage to collect all this information?“.
Andrew’s victory part was a spur–of–the–moment affair. Marcelo couldn’t have had enough time to put this all together.
Now that she thought about it, Marcelo had probably brought her here because of the things she had said back in
the office.
He thought she was distressed, and wanted her to vent out her frustrations.
“I’ve been sitting on it for some time now.” Marcelo didn’t tell her, but he had quite a lot of dirt, not just on Andrew, but the entire King family.
“Won’t this affect you or your business?“She was concerned.
“What do you mean?”
“The King family spent a lot of effort and money to make Andrew into this decorated academic. I don’t imagine they would be happy with you now that you ruined his reputation. What are the chances that they would trace this incident back to you?”
Marcelo ignored her questions and covered Renee’s eyes with his hand. The look in her eyes was gnawing at his self–control.
He paused and took a deep breath, then leaned over and pressed a kiss on his own knuckles. It was the closest thing he could do short of actually kissing her.
With her sight gone, Renee’s other senses were sharper. She didn’t know what Kaiden did, but she did feel him draw close, and it made her heart skip a beat.
Renee quickly pulled his hand away from her face and stepped back. “Are they going to trace this back to you or not?” she asked again.
His gaze fell on the glittering diamond on her wedding finger. “It’s possible,” he shrugged. He hadn’t really thought about it.
“Don’t you like it? Are you unhappy with my little present?” he asked when he noticed theck of excitement on her expression.
Renee shook her head. “No, I like it.”
How could she not appreciate it when he had actively taken revenge for her?
She was worried that it would cause him trouble, though.
More chaos erupted on the first floor, but Marcelo was done with the ce. He ushered Renee to the stairs, and they exited the bar.
They were greeted by the cool night breeze, as if dusting them free of the remnants of the discord that was still ongoing inside.
“Where to next?“Renee asked Marcelo as their fingers intertwined. She tightened her grip without her even noticing.
Marcelo remained quiet.
He hadn’t exactly thought about this part, either.

Renee nudged him and smiled. “I did suggest that we celebrate New Year’s together. Shall we?”
It was an hour before midnight, and the road to the city center was heavily congested.
The drive took a while but they finally reached their destination.
It was a high–end residential building that housed only one huge unit per floor, and afforded its clients great views of different parts of the city. The apartments were all sold out before they were even released to the market.
Renee walked to the entrance, only to realize that Marcelo Had remained standing by the car.
“What are you waiting for? Come on!” She waved him over
But he simply cocked his head to the side, his eyebrows slightly raised.
For some reason, Renee knew what he had in mind. She strode back with a harrumph and took his hand.
Sure enough, Marcelo readily fell into step with her.
Renee couldn’t help but shake her head and chuckle.
Momentster, they were stepping out of the elevator, and she pulled him over to the apartment door before opening it.
The t was over 400 square meters, and it was decorated in a minimalist style. It was fully–furnished, and all the facilities were in working condition. The 270–degree balcony offered an excellent view of the bustling night scene
below.
The ce was devoid of clutter, and the entire floor was covered in white, fluffy carpets, an aspect that catered to Renee’s habit of walking around barefoot.
She did just that, her delicate toes sinking into the carpet and catching Marcelo’s eye.
