Chapter 125 Marvin’s condition
Standing by the door, a smile escaped Marcelo as he overheard Rence’s conversation with Howard.
It only confirmed that Renee had no affection for that dude so that little punk had better take a hint and back off or else..
Having napped during the afternoon, Renee found herself unable to sleep in the night. Instead, she delved into researching information about the Hill family and Marvin.
“Marcelo, do you have any information on Marvin?” Her search yielded no fruitful results.
Returning from the study, Marcelo replied, “No.”
But in his eyes, Marvin was not a pleasant person.
“Oh.” After pondering for a while, Renee changed her approach, asking, “Then, do you know the current situation with the Hill family? I’m concerned about Sarah’s safety.”
Seeing Renee’s persistence, Marcelo reluctantly said, “Marvin’s associates will locate him soon.”
Assured by this, Renee didn’t need to worry about Sarah.
Sarah had been abducted, and it was improbable for Marvin to find her independently so quickly.
Given Marvin’s severe injuries, his subordinates would soone to his aid.
Surprised, Renee asked, “His subordinates?”
ncing at Renee, Marcelo cautioned, “Don’t involve yourself in his matters with Sarah.”
Being honest, Renee replied, “But if Sarah seeks my help, I can’t just ignore her situation.”
Marcelo sighed and walked to the bedside, yfully pinching Renee’s cheek.
“Renee, are you intentionally trying to annoy me? The Hill family is no lessplicated than the King family.”
It became evident that Marcelo wanted Renee to stay away from the Hill family’s affairs.
Seeing Renee’s curiosity, Marcelo exined, “Melissa Hill is Shelton Hill’s second wife and isn’t Marvin’s biological mother.”
Renee nodded. “I know about it.”
“Marvin is the son of Shelton and his first wife. His mother has passed away. Melissa, on the other hand, has a daughter who married into the Rollins family. The Hill family is in the midst of internal conflict, involving not only Marvin and several coteral branches but also the Rollins family.”
“The Rollins family…“Renee’s eyes widened in shock. “Quincy Rollins?”
Why was Quincy, that scoundrel, also involved in the Hill family’s affairs?
Thinking about Sarah’s past connection to Quincy, Renee felt a headacheing up.
Although reluctant to bring up Quincy, Renee assessed the situation pragmatically. “Well, Melissa is Shelton’s legal wife. Although she is the second wife, she and Shelton’s daughter have the right to inherit the property, which means Quincy is
entitled to a share.”
With a sneer, Marcelo said, “But Quincy’s mother is not a child of the Hill family.”
Renee was taken aback by this shocking revtion.
Early the next morning, Renee, preparing to take food to the hospital, saw Marcelo receive a call.
She was unaware of what the other person on the phone shared wi Marcelo, but he cast a nce in her direction
“What’s wrong?“Renee had a gut feeling that whatever was discussed on the phone was rted to her.
“Marvin’s subordinates arrive at the hospital,” He informed her.
He then directed Luke to change the route, sending them to the hospital first.
Simultaneously, the morning meeting at thepany was canceled.
Biting her lower lip, Renee felt a twinge of guilt.
She initially sought his help, but now he was entangled in this iness, dying his work. Marvin was the sole upant of the VIP floor in the hospital’s inpatient unit.
In the corridor, Marcelo’s bodyguards were on high alert. Some guarded the door, while others were stationed at various entrances. Marvin’s subordinates, dressed casually, were surrounded by Marcelo’s guards.
The tension between the two groups made the medical staff hold their breath, except for Wyatt. In this charged atmosphere, Wyatt, holding a thick book on neurosurgery, lookedid back as if he were in a quiet study.
“Marcelo, you are finally here. These two groups will turn my hospital into a battleground if you don’t intervene.” Wyatt.closed the book and said, “Your men are preventing the neers from entering. They only follow your orders. These neers insisted that they be allowed in because the patient inside is their leader.“Wyatt wouldn’t be present if the situation hadn’t escted to the point where someone needed to take charge.
“Dr. Moore, I apologize for the trouble, “Renee said apologetically, “you canmunicate with Sarah directly.”
“Miss Curtis?“Wyatt pointed toward the ward, seemingly recalling something amusing. “She’s in the ward, but the man in the bed seems to be out of his mind, and he won’t let her go.”
“Then you know…“Renee began but hesitated mid–sentence.
“I know who’s inside. Renee, don’t worry, the Moore family won’t get involved. There are only patients, their family members, and unrted individuals here.“Wyatt made his stance clear.
Before Renee could express her gratitude, she asked, “What do you mean by ‘out of his mind?“”
“I mean it quite literally, “Wyatt replied, shrugging.
Marcelo didn’t believe Wyatt’s words. He wheeled himself and took Renee’shand toward the ward. “We’ll find out when we see for ourselves.”
“Mr. King.“Marcelo’s bodyguards acknowledged his presence with nods.
Marcelo gestured for them to make way.
“Wait.” It was one of Marvin’s subordinates who spoke up. “When did Mr. King be acquainted with our boss?”
The subordinate, with a crew cut, eyed Marcelo warily, fearing he might harm Marvin.
Marcelo calmly replied, “When your boss was on the verge of death at the bottom of the slope.”
