Chapter 109 High regards
Renee cautioned, “Mind yournguage, Miss Herod. That family had iting to them.”
The familiar smile that usually lingered on Renee’s lips vanished suddenly.
Addressing Felicia, Renee remarked, “Felicia, you encourage others to arrange romantic connections for me. I can’t help but wonder how Marcelo will react when he discovers this.”
A subtle shift crossed Felicia’s countenance.,
She had urged Maggie to persist, aiming to humiliate Renee further. However, if Marcelo discovered that she orchestrated an outsider’s involvement in pairing Renee with a man, trouble awaited her.
No one needed to tell her about how cruel Marcelo was.
“That’s enough,” She dered with a cold demeanor. “The show ismencing. Find your seats.”
Sensing Felicia’s displeasure, someone swiftly shifted the conversation, saying,
“Mrs.King, you’ve secured the prime seat today. I’m truly envious.
Delighted by thepliment, Felicia smiled modestly. “My seat isn’t really the finest. The center seat at Freddy’s show is always vacant. I’m seated adjacent to it.”
In truth, the central position at the fashion show offered the optimal and most centered view. Freddy Lynn, a highly promising designer specializing in high–end tailored clothing, made acquiring tickets for his exclusive shows quite challenging.
However, a peculiar aspect of his recent shows was the deliberate decision to leave the central seat unupied.
“Renee, where have you chosen to sit?” Laura inquired, “I doubt you secured a spot in Section One. Are you relegated to a corner?”
The prime viewing location for the show was in Section One.
Felicia smiled, inquiring, “Marcelo is the CEO of the KM Group. Why didn’t he secure a better seat for you?”
Renee remained silent.
The moment Felicia settled into her seat, she observed Renee gracefully taking the center seat beside her.
“What are you doing in this seat?!“Felicia eximed in astonishment, “Don’t you know no one upies this seat at Freddy’s show?”
“There’s been a mistake; thisdy is in the wrong seat. Address it promptly to avoid displeasing Freddy, “Felicia urged the show’s organizer in a loud voice, intending to make more people aware of the situation.
“Well, Renee is said to have attended numerous shows. How is it that she seems oblivious to this rule?”
“We’re in for a treat tonight.”
Amidst hushed conversations, a figure with blonde hair and blue eyes, the one in charge, approached.
However, upon spotting Renee, she eximed in surprise, “My God! Miss Hudson, you’ve finally graced us with your presence. Without you, this seat would have remained empty for another year. Considering how easily you get cold, Freddy ensured this year’s show was indoors. How do you find it?”
The surroundings fell silent abruptly, and the derisive smiles froze in ce.
“Oh, I really appreciate it.“Renee smiled and said apologetically, rushed out today and forgot to bring flowers as a token.”
“Miss Hudson, I’m confident Freddy would dere your presence the finest gift.”

Even after the person in charge departed, those around remained perplexed.
“Did I just imagine things?”
“What’s going on?”
Felicia’s expression soured upon seeing Renee in the seat vacant for four years.
She questioned,
“Why are you…”
ncing at Felicia, Renee exined, “I forgot to mention that Marcelo didn’t send me the invitation. It’s from Freddy.”
Over the next two hours, Renee immersed herself in the spectacle on stage.
However, everyone else remained in a state of disbelief.
Felicia, in particr, wore a look of utter dismay. She believed she held the highest status in the audience, only to be surpassed unexpectedly by Renee.
Following the show, Freddy, the designer, took the stage for a speech.
Freddy, a man in his thirties, exuded sophistication with deep and elegant facial features. Dressed in fashion, his green eyes held a captivating beauty. Contrary to his usual arrogant demeanor as a talented designer, today he wore a genuine smile.
Observers noted that Freddy’s gaze remained fixated on the young woman in the center seat. Following Freddy’s speech, the floor opened for questions.
Eagerly rising, a reporter addressed Freddy, “Mr. Lynn, I have a question. Over the past four years and six private shows, the center seat has consistently been empty. Why is there ady upying it today?”
“Isn’t it evident? This seat was reserved for her,” Freddy responded with a helpless shrug. “The reason I kept the center seat vacant was because thisdy declined to attend. She was consistently upied or found it inconvenient to travel abroad, so I organized the show in her hometown. Now, she has no reason to miss it.”
His final words were directed at Renee.
The crowd erupted in chaos.
“Who is thatdy? Turning down Freddy six times in a row. Is she out of her mind?”
“Is that Renee? I assumed she got in with Marcelo’s assistance, but it turns out it’s because of Freddy.”
“When did Renee be acquainted with Freddy?”
Within the auditorium, cameras from all the reporters shed, focusing on the young woman in the center seat.
Renee appeared indifferent, treating Freddy’s words as a trivial matter not worth acknowledging. The ck velvet dress bestowed on her a regal aura.
She offered a resigned smile, stating, “I’m genuinely upied.”
The coveted center seat at the fashion show, vacant in the fashion circle for four years, was now designated for Renee.
Numerous affluentdies and daughters of powerful families vied for invitations to Freddy’s show. However, Renee had been absent from Freddy’s show for four years.
“Mr.
As Renee showed no inclination to speak further, reporters redirected their attention to Freddy, inquiring once more, Lynn, the center seat has been empty for four years due to Miss Hudson’s absence. What makes Miss Hudson special? I’ve been following your work since your debut eight years ago, and as far as I’m aware, Miss Hudson hasn’t been part of your journey.” “Four years ago, I faced a giarism scandal, and no one was willing to believe me. It was Miss Hudson who engaged awyer to
vindicate me, and she was also the mastermind behind the Pr Night show. She is my benefactor and muse. There is no one else who deserves the center seat but her.”
The Pr Night marked Freddy’s inaugural major production following his exoneration from a giarism scandal, propelling him to overnight stardom. This groundbreaking show not only showcased outstanding costumes but also featured a meticulously designed presentation.
Departing from traditional runway formats, it depicted Freddy’s journey from false usations during his tenure as the chief fashion designer for a luxury brand to his dramatic resurgence on stage through a theatrical runway show.
Up to this point, the show had garnered acim from themunity. Conversations revolved around the bold and intelligent strategies employed by the chief nner of the show.
After four years, the mystery unraveled, unveiling Renee as the mastermind behind the show. Undoubtedly, this revtion would send shockwaves through the entire fashionmunity.
The reporter contained the excitement within and pressed on, “Is Miss Hudson someone you admire? Are you pursuing a romantic connection with her?”
This query posed a challenge. Many attendees were privy to the rumors circting about Renee and Marcelo. Their attention heightened as they sat up, listening attentively.
“No.” Freddy shook his head, stating, “I’m too old to be a suitable match for her.”
The curtains fell on the show, leaving an air of shock lingering after Freddy’s bombshell.
People, taken aback, kept a safe distance from Renee, their hushed conversations filling the air. When Renee made a move to leave, Freddy, ditching the reporters, chased after her.
“Renee, are you leaving? How about grabbing dinner with me?” Freddy’s tone hit a sour note, making Renee cringe.
With onlookers galore, declining would put her in a tight spot, so she reluctantly agreed, “Fine, my treat.”
Quickly, Renee dialed Chad, altering her ns for the evening.
Freddy, delegating the reporters to his assistants, and Renee made their exit.
“I’ve heard that some of the audience present today made fun of you. Did I y my part well out there? Did I do justice to your image?” Freddy asked, sporting a grin that screamed for validation
Renee, feeling cornered, responded, “Freddy, you’re not exactly behaving like a seasoned thirty–seven–year–old!”
“Boys will be boys,” Freddy quipped. “Did I do justice? Are you pleased?”
“Yes.“Renee sighed, unwilling to disappoint her old friend.
Contemting dinner options, Renee paused as she noticed a man outside the hotel.
In a wheelchair, Marcelo gazed silently at Renee.
Unable to feign ignorance, Renee approached him, questioning, “What brings you here?”
“Just passing by,” He replied. “I’ll take you home for dinner.”
“I told Chad I won’t be back for dinner tonight; I have an impromptu arrangement,” Renee exined.
Having heard from Chad about the event ending around five o’clock, Marcelo arrived at half–past four. After he had been waiting for half an hour,Renee imed a sudden appointment?!
Before Marcelo could inquire further, Freddy spotted him. Surprised, Freddy eximed, “Isn’t he the CEO of KM Group?Renee, are you two acquainted?”
Marcelo sneered inwardly.
This man called her quite intimately there.
He hadn’t bothered to nce at Freddy at first since he believed him to be a bystander. Now he gave Freddy a snarky, angry nce at this point. “Who are you?”
Addressing Marcelo, Renee said, “He’s my friend, Freddy.” Introducing Marcelo to Freddy, she hesitated. “He’s my…”
Renee faltered, struggling for words, and Marcelopleted, “Husband.”
