Chapter 58 Gift for me

    Chapter 58 Gift for me

    Wyatt returned home, clearly disheartened.

“Bro, what’s the matter? Did something go wrong?“Damian, lounging on the sofa, eyed his brother’s sullen face.

“No.” Wyatt sighed. “Renee gave me a gift…”

“She did? Show me!“Damian perked up.

Wyatt eyed Damian warily. “Why the sudden interest?”

Damian reclined again and casually remarked, “I’m just curious about what kind of gift Renee would give you.”

“It’s a tie she designed, with my surname as the pattern.”

Damian straightened up and asked, “Wyatt, could I swap the sports car I gotst month for it?”

At the mention of the car, Wyatt’s anger red. “Absolutely not!”

    “Wyatt!”

“Marcelo got my tie. There’s no point in talking!“Wyatt hissed.

And he missed out on Marcelo’s car too!

The regret was eating him up.

Damian, exasperated, fell back onto the sofa. “Will you just finish what you’re saying? Why do you keep stopping?”

Under his breath, he wondered, “Is Marcelo still with Renee?”

As Damian headed upstairs, Miranda quietly asked Wyatt, “Does Damian not know Marcelo married Renee?”

“It’s likely he’s clueless, considering he didn’t even make it into an Ivy League college. Let’s see when he figures it out,” Wyatt responded.

“Don’t you think Damian has a soft spot for Renee?“Miranda murmured, then fell silent.

“Well, he’ll just have to deal with it. She’s Marcelo’s wife now. He’lle to terms eventually.” Miranda looked towards Damian’s room, her expression one of pity.

He’d always been the family’s target for teasing, the poor thing!

But, they reasoned, he was the only one they could tease.

They decided to make the most of it.

Renee’s life revolved around fashion design after Naomi was released from the hospital and returned to the Hudson family.

It was eleven at night when she wrapped up her discussion with the KM Group.

Marcelo hadn’te home. After her nightly routine, she headed to bed.

After a while, she felt a chill as the covers were pulled back, and the bed dipped beside her.

The barely asleep Renee frowned, clearly annoyed, ready to scold whoever disturbed her.

Marcelo watched her for a moment then yfully pinched her nose.

Startled and struggling to breathe, Renee awoke. In the dim moonlight, she saw a figure looming over her.

Instinctively, Renee reached out to swat away the annoyance, identally touching his crotch.

She even pinched it as retaliation.

    “Oh…“Marcelo flinched, caught off guard.

As he retracted his hand, Renee, unaware of what she’d touched, borrowed deeper into the covers. She just wanted to sleep without interruptions.

But Marcelo wasn’t having it. He pulled her out and pinched her nose again, his expression dark. “Stop it, Marcelo!” Renee was both irate and groggy.

She closed her eyes after yelling, determined to sleep.

“You’re still sleepy?“He mused, incredulous at her determination to rest.

In this instance, Marcelo took a direct approach, gently grasping Renee’s hands. He leaned forward, tenderly patting her face with his other hand.

His touch was soft, almost affectionate, yet forceful enough to rouse her from slumber.

    “Renee.”

“Marcelo, you’re really getting on my nerves.”

Irritability had taken hold of Renee that morning. Sitting up abruptly, she shot Marcelo an angry re.

Unbeknownst to her, her cheeks flushed a delicate pink upon awakening, and her eyes sparkled enchantingly even in her

    annoyance.

“Mrs. King, where is my present?”

    “No!”

She was incredulous. He had disturbed her sleep, and now he demanded a gift?

    In his dreams!

“You’re in for a lesson, Renee,” Marcelo remarked. She had prepared a present for Wyatt but neglected to consider one for him?

Wasn’t he the one who got Wyatt to do the surgery?

    The thought increasingly infuriated Marcelo.

Renee, sensing his grip on her hand, quickly came back to reality.

Instinctively, she protested, “Marcelo, my hand is hurting.I’ve been working all day. Can we do this another day, please?”

Marcelo then drew her towards the bed’s center.

She had inadvertently rolled to the edge earlier.

“What are you thinking about, Renee?” Marcelo arched an eyebrow subtly.

Flustered, Renee stammered a defensive exnation, “I’m overthinking because you’re too sexually active. ‘It’s not my fault.”

    His sneer wasced with scorn.

“I’ll give you a week to prepare the gift for me.” With that, he returned to bed.

Renee, watching his back, felt perplexed.

Why did he suddenly demand a gift?

    Chapter 58 Gift for me

Couldn’t he simply buy whatever he needed himself?

Upon her arrival at KM Group, Renee discovered that STAR Jewelry’s spokesperson had changed from Catherine to Alyssa.

Nowadays, it was increasinglymon for wealthy heirs to venture into the entertainment industry.

Owing to her family’s influence, Alyssa had featured in several dramas during her college years. In terms of poprity, Alyssa was arguably a more fitting representative for STAR Jewelry than Catherine.

“Miss Alyssa, meet our stylist, Miss Renee. She’s in charge of your red carpet look today.” The KM Group staff escorted Renee to the styling room.

As the face of STAR,Alyssa was expected to adorn this season’s signature jewelry at the fashion week, showcasing STAR’s splendor. Consequently, KM Group also oversaw Alyssa’s red carpet ensemble.

“No introductions necessary. We’re acquainted.” Reclining on the sofa, Alyssa showed no interest in getting up to greet Renee.

“What a coincidence,” Renee remarked, unfazed.

Renee and Alyssa, though both part of the affluent youth circle, were hardly acquainted.

Alyssa, with a sly smile, pulled out her phone. “I stumbled upon some gossip today, and guess what, it’s about Miss Hudson.” Curious eyes turned to Alyssa’s phone, where a forum post eximed, “Shocking!Renee rides on a new man’s coattails. It’s suspected that she was ‘the other woman“.”

The photo showed Renee and Wyatt in a Koenigsegg, Wyatt’s back to the camera, but Renee’s face mostly visible.

Despite the photo’sck of rity, Reneewas identifiable.

“Miss Hudson, you may not be a household name professionally, but you’re certainly a gossip column staple,” Alyssa remarked smugly. “I’d prefer a different stylist, one without scandalous baggage.”

    The onlookers‘ gazes shifted.

Despite privately admiring Renee’s beauty and aesthetic sense, their opinions of Renee were now tainted by thebel ‘the other woman‘.

Renee, without uttering a word, had been branded as a gossip regr and an adulteress.

“Miss Alyssa, are you the photographer, or do you know the man in the photo?” Renee inquired, leaning against a table.

“I don’t have that much free time, “Alyssa retorted, sipping her coffee disdainfully. “But the man you were withst time wasn’t the one in the photo.”

The difference between a man who could stand up and a man who sat on a wheelchair was obvious,

“So, Miss Alyssa, you’re judging me based on a rumor? Has the showbiz clouded your rationality?” Renee challenged.

“Renee, you!” Alyssa, frustrated, could barely respond.
