Chapter 664
Samson returned to his usual self and strolled over casually. “You just got here?”
Ariel nodded while putting away the blueprints.
She thought that the fleeting look ofplex emotion she had just seen on him was just an illusion because he was now smiling casually as always. His eyes reflected her features.
“You look a little worn out. Is the work here stressing you? Maybe you should take a breather. Elsie is assigned to help with a lot of your tasks. You can use her as much as you want. It’ll also teach her a thing
or two.”
Ariel knew that, but she preferred to handle important matters herself. Of course, she wouldn’t neglect guiding Elsie. She just prioritized what mattered most.
“I know. I will,” she replied.
Then, she asked, “Is Yeager Group still giving you a hard time?”
She couldn’t just act like nothing had happened. She had to check in at least.
Samson shrugged. “It’s nothing serious. As you know, my mother’s the CEO. They can’t just kick me out of Yeager Group. Dealing with it might be a bit of a hassle, but I’m still young. A little pressure is what helps me grow tougher and stronger.”
He didn’t brag that it would be easy. He spoke his mind frankly. There was a genuine sincerity in his
manner.
Ariel thought for a moment. “I can’t help much with yourpany matters, but I remember the favor. I’ll return it when Faye Tech has a good projectter.”
This was the most appropriate way she could think of. It didn’t involve anything beyond a simple exchange. (1
Samson caught her meaning and smiled slightly. “That’s not important. I’m not the type to beg for projects. Since this is my first time dealing with fighter jets, just a little guidance from you to help me avoid mistakes would be more than enough. What do you say?”
That was a simple request.
Ariel nodded. “Sure. Just ask if you need me.”
After saying that, she moved to the other side of the workspace.
Samson watched her walk away. His expression remained neutral, but his eyes were deep.
He had learned that Ariel was pregnant from Cecilia, yet he hadn’t shown a hint of reaction.

This baby sure didn’te at the right time.
Just then, his phone rang, and he answered.
Cecilia’s voice was cool. “So, what’s going on with you and Jayson? Has he been giving you trouble?”
Jayson probably pinned everything on Samson regarding the earlier Sheffielton incident. The fact that there was no response was definitely unusual. <fn7218> Fresh chapters posted on f?i?n?d?n?o?v?e?l?</fn7218>
“Nothing’s going on,” Samson replied.
But he knew that a man like Jayson wouldn’t easily move on from something he was certain about. Even though he didn’t like Jayson, he still needed to stay on his guard.
Cecilia warned, “Don’t slip up. You’ve already lost to him before.”
Samson nced up casually.
Then, Cecilia noticed something. She asked, “Why is there a woman’s pearl earring in your ce? I found it on your bedside table. Whose is it? Should I throw it?” 1
Samson turned toward Zone 2 and replied evenly, “No need.” 1
Cecilia suddenly chuckled. “Toote. I had someone throw it.”
Samson paused for a brief moment. His face showed no reaction, and he didn’t say a word. He just continued walking like he didn’t mind at all.
Cecilia clicked her tongue. “Well, yeah. It’s not worth caring about. Just a piece of trash, right?”
Samson hung up, ignoring her entirely. As he left the military base, he made an international call.
When Ariel finished work and stepped out, she saw Jayson already waiting at the entrance.
Leaning against the hood of the car, he turned toward her when he heard her. The sky was dim, yet his eyes shone brightly as they met hers.
“Do you really have so much free timetely?” Ariel asked bluntly. He clearly had an almost overwhelming workload, yet these past few days, he hadn’t missed a single moment to be with her.
Jayson opened the car door. “You probably won’t see me for the next three days. I have an urgent work trip tonight.”
“You don’t need to tell me your schedule.”
“Whether you want to hear it is your business; whether I report it is mine.” He handed her a bottle of milk he had brought from home.
Ariel nced at the time. “The military base has arranged a car for me. There’s no need to trouble
yourself.”
Jayson looked down, his dark eyes meeting hers. “Let’s talk about the baby when I return. I’ll be back in no more than three days. Whatever you decide, I want to be there with you.” (1)
This business trip was unavoidable, but he still wanted to keep Ariel in check, making sure she didn’t take any action while he was away.
