Inside 647

    Chapter 647

After all the hurt and pain Jayson had caused Ariel, it was only fair they made him suffer a little as well.

But Ariel never thought that way. What Janice suggested was nothing more than revenge, and Ariel knew it could only trigger a chain of unwanted consequences.

Even so, Janice’s concern wasn’t about vengeance–it was about the hardship Ariel might eventually face. If Jayson were to learn they had lost their first child, his grief would only add to Ariel’s burden.

“I don’t think this situation with Jayson willst long. A proud, conceited man like him only turned his attention to you because he just broke up with his previous lover. Ignore him, and he’ll give up soon enough.” Janice only wanted to shield Ariel from more pain. 1

Ariel understood her concern and smiled gently.

As for Chad, neither of them knew how to break the news to him. They decided to wait for the right time.

Janice ended up staying with Ariel for an entire week.

The once bubbly, carefree woman seemed to have matured overnight. She began learning how to help with Ariel’s daily routine while also taking it upon herself to keep Jayson away.

    Ariel simply let her.

On Monday, Ariel stopped by the 719 Military Aircraft Base for work.

As she turned a corner, she spotted Samson speaking on the phone.

“I know some of the Yeager Group’s directors are unhappy with me. They see the Sheffielton tender project as a golden opportunity. The situation is serious since they’re trying to use it against me,” he said.

    Ariel slowed her steps.

“But it’s fine. That project doesn’t matter much. I can always secure another one with greater profits. We need to stay open–minded. I’ll take full responsibility this time.”

Ariel didn’t linger to hear the rest and continued on her way.

Not long after, Samson appeared. His eyes scanned her from head to toe, a faint frown creasing his face. Are you feeling better now?”

Ariel recorded some data before nodding. “I’m alright now.”

Samson let out a quiet sigh of relief. “That’s good. I’ve been swamped with work at thepany and didn’t even have time to visit you again in the hospital. I’m sorry.”

“Why are you apologizing?” Ariel set down her pen. “You’ve probably had enough trouble of your own because of what happened.”

Samson met her gaze. “You don’t need to worry about that. No matter what kind of rtionship we have, I couldn’t just stand by after learning you were in danger. I believe it was worth it.” 1

Ariel didn’t know how to respond. It was clear she owed him a great debt for what he’d done. 1

    “Watch out!”

Several staff members pushed a cart carrying an aircraft wing through the corridor, and Samson was standing in a dangerous spot. Ariel reacted quickly, grabbing his arm and pulling him toward her.

Samson barely registered what was happening before his shoulder bumped into hers.

He froze for a moment, looking down at her.

Ariel’s brow furrowed, her expression grim as she stared at the cart that had just passed.

For some reason, Samson found her seriousness amusing. A chuckle escaped his lips. He tilted his head and said, “I may have failed to secure the project, but I think you won’t be so cold to me anymore.”

Ariel’s frown deepened as she fixed her gaze on him.

Samson only winked and grinned. “That thought alone makes me happy.” 2

It was enough to brighten his mood.

Taking a few steps back, Samson added with a smile, “I hope we’ll have more moments like this. Get back to your work. I’ll see you around.”

With that, he turned and walked away.

Ariel stared after him, momentarily lost in thought.

Later, she received new instructions regarding the SX alloy. More tests were needed to gather data and ensure the material strictly met all standards. <fna5a0> This update is avable on Find_Novel(.</fna5a0>
