Chapter 628
Jayson wasn’t bothered by Ariel’s attitude. He responded frankly, “Was it obvious? How about I hold an umbre for you?” (1
Ariel furrowed her brows and directed her gaze at him. “What is it you’re trying to do?”
Jayson slowly turned his head and met Ariel’s gaze. “I’m simply curious and trying to find out what kind of tactics would work on you.”
Ariel felt that Jayson had gotten the upper hand again during their conversation and decided to ignore him entirely. Oftentimes, neither of them was willing to give in whenever they started bickering.
Honestly, Jayson was aware that nothing was going on between Ariel and Samson. Regardless of how forward Samson was with his feelings, Jayson knew Ariel well enough to know that she could be very slow and guarded.
She might not even notice the other person’s intentions no matter how much effort they had put in.
Soon enough, they reached the residential area.
Without pausing to wait for Jayson, Ariel opened the door and got out of the car.
However, it only urred to Ariel when she had walked some distance away that she had forgotten to bring along Samson’s umbre. She turned around and headed toward the car again.
Jayson, who was walking at a leisurely pace, caught up with her then. Ariel nced in the direction of the car. “Sorry, but I need to get something from your car.”
“What is it?”
“The umbre.”
“I just tossed it away since I thought you didn’t need it anymore.”
Ariel stared at Jayson with a look of displeasure on her face.
Meanwhile, Jayson responded nonchntly, “How much does it cost? Should Ipensate you for losing the umbre?”
Without a word, Ariel turned around and strode off. She knew very well there was no point arguing with Jayson, who clearly had no intention of giving the umbre to her.
After arriving on their floor, Ariel swiftly entered her apartment and closed the door, ignoring Jayson,
who was behind her.
She had things to do. Ariel would be traveling to Sheffielton tonight. On the other hand, Chad would depart from Heincove on the day of the tender to meet Ariel in Sheffielton.

They would be achieving a new milestone if they could win the bid this time for V’srgemercial airliner. The Faye Technologies team aimed to make the most of this opportunity. Ariel had ced a high priority on the project as well.
The project could help build a solid foundation for thepany’s growth and development in the next
two years.
Ariel would soon join the research work at the 719 base. However, she couldn’t possibly neglect her duties at Faye Technologies.
It was almost 8:00 pm by the time Ariel was done packing her suitcase for a three–day business trip. She came out of the front door while dragging her suitcase.
As if by a remarkable coincidence, the door opposite hers swung open as well.
Jayson had finished packing his suitcase as well. He looked at Ariel. “Should I give you a ride to the airport? I need to head to Sheffielton too.”
Ariel turned around and locked the door. She replied frigidly, “Should I really ride in your car and risk losing my life when one of your enemies might try to take you out by staging a car crash again?”
Jayson stared at her for a few seconds before his eyes widened. “You didn’t have to beat around the bush when expressing your concern for me.”
Ariel frowned in exasperation. She felt absolutely defeated.
Shepletely ignored Jayson and remained silent even after both of them got into the elevator.
When they reached the ground floor, Jayson exited the elevator in two long strides and took Ariel’s suitcase from her hand. “A lot of people will be attending the event this time. It’ll seem strange for us to travel there separately. You should just put up with this for now.”
Jayson snatched the suitcase from Ariel’s hand, leaving her no time to protest before he stowed it in the
trunk.
Ariel couldn’t possibly win against Jayson in terms of physical strength. She stood there with an icy expression on her face.
Jayson opened the door and nced over his shoulder. “Should I move you into the car like how I did with your suitcase? Should I carry you horizontally or vertically?” 2
Jayson stepped forward as if he was really going to do it.
Without uttering a word, Ariel got into Jayson’s car before he did.
Jayson’s lips curled up as he watched her do that.
He didn’t tell Ariel about how Cecilia had suggested marriage to him and how he had asked for Stanley’s

help in stopping Cecilia’s actions.
With the photos now in Cecilia’s possession, Jayson had no trouble figuring out where she’d gotten them. He’d personally made sure to remove every trace of evidence the reporters had. That meant the leak could only havee from one ce–the Sanderson family.
Ariel was unsurprised to find out they were on the same flight.
It was past midnight by the time they arrived at Sheffielton.
Fortunately, Chad had arranged in advance for someone to pick Ariel up from the airport. Ariel left as
soon as she retrieved her suitcase. She didn’t bother waiting for Jayson.
The hotel was located right opposite the venue for the tender.
Ariel quickly washed herself and turned in for the night.
The bid for the tender would happen on the third day. They would also be having a tech exhibition in
Sheffielton on Ariel’s second day there.
The tender was set to begin at 3:00 pm on her third day there. Before that, a small reception would be held at the high–end club located next to the hotel
Ariel didn’t visit the tech exhibition. As the representative from Faye Technologies, her focus was on the
tender.
Since Ariel had mostly stayed in her room, she managed to avoid running into Jayson.
Yet, the hotel’s management team would make sure to send food to her room whenever it was about time
for her to have her meals.
Moreover, they were all dishes that appealed to her pte and were made ording to her preferences.
