    <b>For </b>the time being, Ariel didn’t want to make too many public appearances when people had just learned of her identity as the U.N2 developer.


    People from various sectors and industries had shown an overwhelming amount of interest in her. They had also been receiving guests at Faye Technologies‘ office almost nonstop.


    Janice had even sent a message to their WhatsApp group chatining about how her workload had increased drastically.


    So, Ariel soon decided to head back to their office.


    Requests for partnership that Faye Technologies received had increased several–fold as well. With Ariel’s current fame and assistance from Nexura Solutions, Faye Technologies had essentially established itself as one of the top–tierpanies in the country.


    Once Ariel had resumed work at Faye Technologies, she checked Nexura Solutions‘ work progress as


    well.


    As for Veyo Solutions, they would be merging it with Nexura Solutions soon to make it more convenient for Ariel to manage bothpanies.


    Ariel noted how the employees at Veyo Solutions had carried out their tasks dutifully. The individuals that Jayson had selected from Bluum Corp or Nexura Solutions and appointed to positions in Veyo Solutions were the cream of the crop.


    Even though they were experiencing drastic changes in thepany’s structure, everyone continued to fulfill their responsibilities. Ariel didn’t have to spend more time and energy addressing management-


    rted issues.


    In the afternoon, Janice entered Ariel’s office while humming a soft tune. She handed Ariel a cup of grape -vored cold brew. “I just came up from downstairs. Guess who I just saw.”


    Ariel’s brows lifted. “Who was it that made you look so happy now?”


    Janice clutched her stomach andughed a little. “It was Nancy! You had no idea, didn’t you? Nancy wanted to see you, but Cassidy didn’t inform you about it since she didn’t want Nancy to bother you. Nancy’s been waiting there for more than an hour now.”


    Janice decided to reward Cassidy with an extra bonus for doing something so brilliant.


    Ariel truly had no idea that Nancy was here.


    She was quite surprised to hear that Nancy had requested to meet her since thetter had met Jayson the other day. However, Ariel had no clue how their meeting went that day.


    She lowered her head and continued to study the design sketch of an aircraft’s wing. “I don’t see any point in meeting her either.”


    Janice was in a cheery mood. She took off the cover, had a big gulp of coffee, and chewed on the ice in her mouth. “She can wait for as long as she wants. That woman’s a character! She’s shameless enough to


    show up here.”


    Most people would care enough to preserve their pride and dignity. Therefore, Janice simply couldn’t understand what Nancy was thinking.


    Ariel focused on finishing her current task since she had to head over to the military baseter for a meeting. She would gradually be busier as the projects she was involved in were initiated one after


    the other.


    When it was almost 3:00 pm, Ariel had to stop by one of their factories. She took her bag and headed


    downstairs. Ariel spotted Nancy, who sat and waited in the lobby lounge.


    Nancy had dressed up nicely. Still, it was impossible to conceal her bloodshot eyes.


    It seemed like she was pushing herself to put up a strong front.


    There was a sh of resentment and indignation in Nancy’s eyes the moment she saw Ariel.


    Nevertheless, she got to her feet.


    After taking a deep breath, she walked up to Ariel and stood in her path. “Can I talk to you for a moment?”


    Ariel halted. She fixed Nancy with an icy gaze and stayed silent.


    Nancy felt extremely humiliated upon meeting Ariel’s gaze. Yet, she could only swallow her pride. As she stared at Ariel, Nancy lowered her voice a little.


    “I know you probably resent me for getting in between you and Jayson. I can… offer you a proper apology. Will you consider asking the authorities not to pursue any legal action against me?”


    Nancy hated herself for doing something like this. Yet, she had no choice but to plead for Ariel’s mercy


    now.


    Nancy had run out of options. The only way she could get out of trouble was if Ariel decided to overlook


    what she did.


    She knew that the chances were slim. Yet, if she didn’t do this, she might have to serve time in prison.


    Both her life and her career would be totally ruined. 2


    Considering the consequences, Nancy had to make a choice. Even if it meant she had to put herself down and beg for Ariel’s mercy….


    Even if the hatred she had for Ariel was growing stronger….


    It wasn’t her ce to choose what she could or could not do now.


    Moreover, she found it extremely humiliating to have to plead for mercy from someone she used to scorn, who had now utterly defeated her.


    Ariel stared at Nancy silently. It was obvious that Jayson had stopped helping Nancy.


    She found this situation amusing.


    Ariel hadn’t expected the day toe when Nancy would swallow her pride and plead for mercy. Nancy even apologized to her. It seemed like she had really been driven to a corner with no way out.


    Ariel had an indifferent look in her eyes. She cast Nancy a sidelong nce.


    “Ms. Stanton, aren’t you being really insincere with the way you’re apologizing to me? Are you still a kid? Even now, you’re still thinking of using minimal effort to get others to forgive you? What? Can’t get any help from your lover anymore?”


    Nancy froze. Her face grew pale.
