Inside 567

    Chapter 567

Frederick decided to be brave for once and follow his heart.

He wasn’t exactly sure about the details of what happened during thepetition.

However, Frederick reckoned someone like Nancy couldn’t possibly do something like that. Nancy was a rare genius. Why would she do something like giarizing Ariel’s work? What could she possibly achieve by doing that?

“Janice and Ariel are quite close. Perhaps she could help persuade Ariel not to pursue any legal actions.” Frederick was deeply troubled by the current situation. Still, he was positive they could find a way to resolve everything.

Unfortunately, Nancy couldn’t hear a single thing. The only thing she heard was Frederick dering that he would take responsibility.

Her face was as white as a sheet. It was clear now what had happened.

At first, Nancy didn’t want to believe what Jayson had said—that it was someone else whom she had spent the night with. Yet, Frederick was telling her now that it was him.

Nancy subconsciously tried toe up with an excuse to make herself feel better.

Perhaps Jayson was just angry with her? So… it was Frederick who had ruined everything for her! He even ruined Nancy’s ns and rtionship.

Her eyes zed with resentment. Nancy shoved Frederick away. “Who do you think you are? There’s no way I would have spent the night with you that day. How could you even think that you couldpare to Jayson? Why should I choose someone like you?” 1

Frederick was left absolutely bbergasted. He stared at Nancy in disbelief.

Nancy’s tears brimmed over. She shouted hysterically, “Frederick Swanson, I’ll file awsuit against you for rape!” 2

She paid no mind to Frederick, who looked rather hurt and stunned, as she staggered toward her house.

Frederick never imagined he would see the dark, unhinged side of Nancy today. She was mad, hysterical, and unreasonable.

That night, Nancy was the one who came into his room and hugged him.

Frederick wasn’t staying in that room at first. During the party, a staff member informed him that they had to move him to another room for certain reasons. Frederick was alright with it.

When Nancy came to him that night, Frederick was both confused and pleasantly surprised. However, his yearning for her outweighed the doubts he had. So, Frederick epted her advance.

However, he never imagined Nancy would be making such usations against him now.

Frederick would be lying if he said he wasn’t hurt by her words. He couldn’t understand why Nancy was suddenly acting this way.

Nancy lookedpletely out of it as she stepped in through the door.

She had thought about it on her way home. At the moment, she had been driven into a corner. Jayson had discarded her.

Perhaps Jayson had never actually considered her as a potential love interest.

If Jayson was going to make herpensate him as per what they had listed in the wager agreement, Nancy wasn’t going to just give away the onest thing that was useful to her.

She nned to sell the house as soon as possible. At the very least, she would be able to secure some funds.

Even if Jayson’s side tried to ask for the house back aspensation, they wouldn’t be able to do anything if Nancy had already sold the house. 1

Yet, Nancy heard Sarah’s frantic voice just as she entered through the front door.

“What on earth do you people want?”

Nancy’s heart missed a beat. She dashed forward and found several men in suits standing in the living

    room.

Sarah was fuming, and her face was drained of color. She quickly asked Nancy when she saw her, ” Nancy, what’s going on? These people say they are from the court and that someone has requested a

    property repossession…”

Nancy’s expression hardened. “The court? I haven’t received any summons, nor have I attended any court hearings regarding this matter. What rights do you have to do this?”

One of the men opened up a folder containing a document and passed it to Nancy. “You may have a look at the document. You and Mr. Larkin had established your rtionship as the debtor and creditor when Mr. Larkin notarized the document a few months ago. 2

“The notarization assures that the document is authentic and can be trusted. If the debtor fails to fulfill their obligations, the creditor can request to take possession of your property.”

Nancy froze. She could no longer maintain a neutral expression.

Jayson had actually notarized the wager agreement they had signed.
