Inside 497

Nancy felt frustration churning inside her, but she didn’t let much of it show. She simply looked at the man behind her, walked over, and ced the copy of the legalint on the table.

Her voice was as even as ever as she said, “Jayson, Ariel’s filed awsuit.”

Jayson’s eyes dropped to the document. He stayed silent for a moment before replying, “Just hire awyer. This kind of thing needs to be dealt with.”

    Nancy understood that much.

However, this wasn’t the kind of case that could be handled easily. Given how many years had passed, the so–called evidence from people involved would already be fuzzy.

That was why most people avoided intellectual propertywsuits. They wereplicated, and the boundaries were hard to define.

Even if Ariel filed, the process ahead would be anything but smooth.

    Ariel’s move was quite… ridiculous.

Nancy didn’t believe Ariel was unaware of how tough this case would be. Otherwise, why go all out with the theatrics? That desperation to drag her down was almost pitiful.

“Do you have any suggestions for awyer?” Nancy asked.

Jayson didn’t react much. He seemed to think for a moment before saying, “This case has wide- reaching implications. If you need awyer, I can help you find one overseas.”

Nancy understood what he meant. Bluum Corp might have a top–tier legal team, but they represented Bluum Corp. Publicly stepping in to help her fight awsuit against Ariel, the so–called Mrs. Larkin, would be hard to justify.

If Jayson found her awyer abroad, they would be just as good as Bluum Corp’s.

Only then did Nancy quietly breathe out. Her gaze softened as she looked at him. “Thank you, Jayson.”

She knew he would have a strategy.

Still, Halread University’s involvement was unexpected. No one had anticipated them releasing a statement after the media had been silenced.

Either way, as long as thewyer Jayson found could win the case, it wouldn’t matter whether Halread University got involved or not.

The process could be long–at least several months of drawn–out back–and–forth–but no matter how long it took, if they found a way to win, Sarah would still have a chance to return to the art

    scene.

Jayson didn’t stay at Veyo Solutions for long. He was only passing through to handle some matters.

After seeing him off, Nancy sat on the couch in deep thought.

Thewsuit needed careful nning. However, the art gallery issue remained unresolved, which was what gave her the biggest headache.

The contract they had signed had stated Sarah would deliver ten paintings to the gallery within a year, after which the bnce payment would be made.

Nancy had noticed the use about paying 50 million dors in penalty for breach of contract, but no one had taken it seriously at the time. After all, no one was going to tie Sarah’s hands and stop her from painting. How hard could it be to deliver ten paintings?

But no one had expected the art exhibition to spiral into such chaos, leaving Sarah unable to paint

    anymore.

If she couldn’te up with the money, trouble would keep piling up. She might even face anotherwsuit.

That would be salt in the wound.

    Nancy frowned.

After a long pause, she considered mortgaging the house as her first option.

It was the quickest way to get the problem under control. The only uncertainty was how long the process would take.

Since taking over Veyo Solutions, her dividends had been issued annually or quarterly, and the next payout wasn’t due until next month. She didn’t have much cash on hand.

Waiting for the dividends would take too long.

Nancy decided not to bring it up to Sarah for now.

After all, it was Jayson who had helped arrange the house when Sarah returned to Eldoria.

Over on Ariel’s side, she had been in contact with Edward’sw firm over the past two days.

Edward traveled abroad frequently and had been awaytely.
