Chapter <b>386 </b>
Ariel had not suspected Seth at first since he knew only a small part of the code instead of the most significant parts. The problem was that Terrance had managed to provide them with a rough draft of a certain part of the technical proposal. It became a serious issue when those two things came together.
Ariel learned more details of what happened after the police conducted further investigation.
ording to Seth’s spection, Terrance probably deduced the logic and theory behind a very small part of the technical proposal by looking at the code Seth had provided and from what he had observed through Veyo Solutions‘ liaison with Vireon.
By using backward deduction, Terrance managed to generate and produce approximately 3% of Ariel’s technical proposal.
Then, he made up a lie and tried to pull that act before.
Ariel could tell that Terrance was someone brilliant and capable. Unfortunately, he had impure intentions. Other engineers might not have been able to achieve what he was capable of doing.
Still, Terrance had only managed to generate and recreate the rtively inconsequential parts of the technical proposal instead of the core ideas and design.
Terrence probably knew he would not be able to figure that out even if he wanted to. Anyway, all he needed was to deduce and generate just a minor part of the technical proposal. With just that, Terrance would be able to ckmail Ariel for money.
ording to the police’s investigation, Terrance had done something simr two years ago and received about seven million dors inpensation. What he did was considered extremely hical andpletely uneptable in the academic circle.
It seemed like he had tried to pull the same move again with Faye Technologies. Yet, Terrence had clearly been a bit reckless this time.
He had no idea that Ariel hadpleted the technical proposal five years ago. Since she was focused on developing the U.N2 at the time and she married Jaysonter on, Ariel had put matters regarding the proposal aside all this while.
Terrance probably thought there was no way they had only executed this n now if the technical proposal was ready a long time ago. His n failed most likely because he assumed Faye Technologies had onlye up with the proposal within thest <b>12 </b>months.
When Faye Technologies reported the case to the authorities, Terrance immediately went into hiding since he could tell he was in trouble.
It appeared Nancy was oblivious to the things Terrance had done and was fooled by him as well.
At the moment, they had concluded the investigation on Veyo Solutions‘ team and confirmed that the problemy with them. Veyo Solutions would be held ountable for what happened.
The officer whomunicated the results of the investigation to them asked, “How would you like to proceed regarding Ms. Nancy Stanton, Ms. Walker?”
Seth was the main perpetrator who divulged confidential information. The police would also look into whether Vireon hadmitted any wrongdoing during this incident
As for how they would proceed regarding Nancy, Ariel calmly expressed her opinion. “As their superior, Nancy Stanton should be held ountable for what happened as well. She failed to notice and prevent her subordinates‘
dishonest and illegal actions.
“Veyo Solutions used us of giarism when they had incorporated part of my code and proposal into the new system that they justunched. Without conducting any proper investigations, they began spreading false rumors about Faye Tech on various tforms.
“They’ve damaged Faye Tech’s reputation and credibility. We also faced some financial losses, and some of our projects had to be terminated. The consequences were dire
“I stand by what I’ve said previously. We’ll press charges. Those whomitted crimes or wrongdoings should be punished ordingly.”
At the very least, they should have these people know the severity of their actions.
After leaving the police department, they got into the car. Janice asked, “What do we do about Vireon, then?”
Ariel dropped her gaze and considered for a moment.
“The police will investigate and find out if they’ve done anything questionable during the incident. We’ll wait for more news from them. Still, there’s no denying that Zach and Nancy shared a friendly rtionship.”
No one could say for sure yet that Vireon was definitely uninvolved in the incident.
They got back to Faye Technologies‘ building shortly afterward.
As soon as Ariel got out of the car, she heard a voiceing from a distance. “Ariel, let’s talk for a bit.”
Ariel turned around and spotted Nancy. She had no idea when Nancy had gotten here. With a slightly tense look on her face, Nancy stood there and stared at Ariel. This time, she did not smugly ignore Ariel like she normally would.
Ariel appeared unfazed. She managed to crush Nancy’s strong, dignified front as she spoke in a calm, gentle tone. “Have youe to plead for my understanding, Ms. Stanton?”
