Inside 335

It had not been a month since Faye Technologiesunched theirtest product, and they still had a lot of follow- up work to do.

Faye Technologies would be holding a productunch event that Friday. After that, they would work on adjusting the marketing strategy and conduct promotional activities. They needed to prepare for a lot of things.

Ariel was wholly absorbed in work. It was only when Chad and Janice reminded her in the evening that Ariel remembered she needed to check her results.

Frankly, Ariel wasn’t nervous at all. After taking the written tests and going for the interview, she had a rough estimate of her score. Ariel reckoned the actual score would either be slightly higher or lower than the estimated

    score.

When she finally saw the actual score, Ariel smiled, looking like she had expected that much..

On the other hand, Janice covered her mouth and eximed excitedly, “469 points! Ari, you’re a smart little devil!

How could she perform so well even though it had been more than three years since she decided to quit her studies?

Moreover, this was Ashford University’s postgraduate admissions exam. The exam’s level of difficulty was extremely high and advanced.

Ariel was alsopeting against a group of exceptional geniuses during the exam. Yet, she managed to top everyone with a much higher score.

Chad breathed a sigh of relief. He was both happy for Ariel and deeply impressed by her.

“You could probably earn a much higher score if you had more time to prepare for the exams, right? Some geniuses inspire envy in others. If it’s someone like you who’s on an entirely different level, people will only want to avoid you. They won’t even think ofpeting against you.

“Back then, I received offers from the university to do my master’s and PhD programs. If I were to take the exams too, given how difficult the papers in our course were, I would never be able to score higher than 455 points even if I had given it my best shot.”

Chad could already imagine how happy Carlos would be when thetter learned about Ariel’s exam results. At the same time, Carlos would most likely be giving him an earful about how he should do better.

Each point signified a huge difference in their abilities. Chad reckoned anyone would feel defeated going up against a rare genius like Ariel.

Anyway, he and Janice had pretty much expected Ariel to obtain a high score on the exam.

After Ariel spoke to Carlos on the phone, she was also informed that she had secured the spot to be his postgraduate student.

Janice grinned and lightly bumped against Chad’s shoulder. “Nancy lost the spot. She’s probably dying to find out who snatched the spot from her.”

Chad snickered. He was struck by an idea. “Let’s invite my father to our productunch on Friday.”

Ariel could tell almost instantly what Chad was trying to do. She chuckled and shook her head, but she did not oppose the idea.

Their marketing department had been preparing for a few days. Soon enough, everything was set to go.

When Ariel arrived at the venue, quite a number of guests who also worked in the same industry were already there. The reporters from several media agencies that Faye Technologies had worked with previously could be seen present as well.

Chad received some interesting news. “Veyo Solutions is having its opening ceremony today. Things are looking quite fun and lively there.”

The atmosphere was more than just lively.

It was quite a high–profile event with the representatives from several government departments participating in the ribbon–cutting ceremony.

Numerouspanies would send their representatives to Veyo Solutions‘ opening ceremony to celebrate the asion since most of them wished to form connections with Jayson.

Ariel was going through the itinerary for their productunch. She didn’t even look up as she said, “Now that things are going pretty smooth and stable for theirpany, it’s about time they hold an event like that to increase exposure and customer loyalty.”

Nevertheless, it was quite interesting that the twopanies‘ events happened to fall on the same day.

Chad chuckled as the thought hit him as well. “It’s like we’re destined to be each other’s nemesis. Bothpanies are having a prettyrge–scale event held on the same day. In a way… we’re sort ofpeting to see whichpany has made more connections.”

This was a prettymon phenomenon happening between different businesses andpanies.

As for the otherpanies, they would be taking various factors into consideration when choosing sides. In a nutshell, they would make their decision based on how much profit they could gain out of it.

Most of the time, these people would remain on the fence and pick the side that would work the best for them.

    “Mr. Hockney. Ms. Walker.”

Someone approached them just then. Chad and Ariel looked in the direction of the voice. It was someone they hadn’t expected to see there that day.

Perry had stopped before them. His gaze fell on Ariel’s face as he tried to observe her condition.

“Mr. Houston?” Ariel fixed her gaze on him. “You’re not going to Veyo Solutions‘ opening ceremony today?”

Even Chad was surprised that Perry hade here instead.

Perry and Jayson were close friends. They considered him to be on Nancy’s side all along. With Veyo Solutions celebrating their opening ceremony today, Perry came to support Faye Technologies‘ productunch event instead?

“I mentioned back when we ran into each other at the Spencer residence that I’m interested in Faye Tech’s projects and ventures. I also wish to have the opportunity to coborate with your team someday.

“In a way, I’vee here today to find out more about the Faye Tech team and your projects. Sorry for showing up here uninvited, though.” Perry knew that the choice he made today could bring about crucial changes in the future.

    Ariel raised her brows.

Chad responded swiftly, with the mindset of a smart and sessful business owner. He knew exactly what to say during situations like this.

“Don’t worry about it. The fact that you’re here gives us a lot of support. The Faye Tech team wees you here,
