Chapter 226
Ariel looked at him. “Mr. Heathorne”
Colin suntled slightly. He took the opportunity to ask her a question regarding the fly by wire system.
After thinking about it, Arlel rmended a book to him. You can try going through that book. You should be able to find something useful in it.”
Colin was quite shocked. It was a special edition book that contained fairly hard to read and digest materials, yet it seemed like Ariel had finished reading it.
Colin was about to ask Ariel another question, but Nancy approached him just then. “Mr. Heathorne, I didn’t get to greet you because I was a bit upied earlier.”
Colin turned his gaze toward Nancy and greeted her. “Ms. Stanton.”
He had met Nancy several times when she followed Matt and the others to Houston Group’s office building
Ariel didn’t spare Nancy any of her attention. She finished writing thest line in her notebook.
Nancy didn’t spare Ariel a single nce either. She asked Colin, “What time will Perry reach here today?
Colin responded, “Mr. Lebowitz said that Mr. Houston will reach here by tonight at thetest. Is something the matter, Ms. Stanton?”
Nancy smiled faintly. “Hmm… Jayson and I have invited him and the others to dinner tonight. Perry’s phone is turned off. He’s probably on his way here.”
Ariel was not interested in what they were talking about. She and the other participants continued to listen to the briefings about thetest technologies from around the globe.
Once Ariel had walked away, Nancy asked pensively, “Mr. Heathorne, what were the two of you discussing earlier?
She had noticed earlier how Colin seemed to enjoy his conversation with Ariel.
Colin paused thoughtfully. He was still filled with awe and admiration. “I asked Ms. Walker some questions. She was really-”
“I see.” Nancy cut him off and continued tly, “I’ll head over and catch up with the others first, Mr. Heathorne.” There was no way Nancy would believe that Colin was asking Ariel questions to get her opinions. She figured Colin was just being courteous and respectful by saying that. Still, she couldn’t be bothered to listen to the rest of it.
Colin was a little puzzled by Nancy’s response, but he didn’t think much of it. Instead, he looked at Ariel’s receding figure. Colin couldn’t help feeling how great it would be if they had someone like Ariel working for their
In the evening, Ariel received Katie’s call. Katie was aware that Ariel was currently in Sorenta. She reminded Ariel to get some targeted drugs, which were in short supplytely within their region, for Leonard during her free
time.
It was rtively easier to find and purchase imported medication in Sorenta.
al went
Ariel promised she would get the targeted drugs. After letting Chad know she was heading out, Ariel downstairs to the hotel lobby.
Coincidentally, she ran into Jayson, who was taking a phone call outside.
With one hand in lits pocket, Jayson lifted his gaze and spotted Ariel as she was hurrying toward the hotel’s
entrance.
Jayson ended the call after giving his instructions. His gaze shifted to Ariel. Speaking softly, he asked, “Where are you going? I’ll have someone give you a lift.”
Ariel pulled on the cor of her shirt slightly. Expressionlely, she replied, “It’s none of your business, Mr. Larkin.”
Jayson’s brows arched. His eyes were unreadable as he watched Ariel walk away.
She rejected his offer firmly and straightforwardly. Ariel didn’t even bother saying another word
For a while, Jayson was in deep thought. When he received Nancy’s call, Jayson turned and headed into the hotel.” Alright, I’ming over right now.”
Ariel only realized how difficult it was to hail a cab here after she went outside. She waited for nearly 20 minutes and still couldn’t get a cab.
As she considered whether to ask the hotel staff to arrange her transport, a Range Rover pulled up in front of her. Perry sat in the driver’s seat.
Ariel recalled how Colin had mentioned earlier that Perry would arrive in Sorenta tonight.
Perry nced at Ariel and said unhurriedly, “You won’t be able to get a cab here.”
After a short pause, Perry gave a slight cough. “I’m heading out anyway. I can give you a ride.”
Ariel paused–staff would soon be leaving the hospital. She couldn’t afford to wait any longer. Finally, she nodded. “I’ll take you up on the offer then, Mr. Houston.”
The corners of Perry’s mouth turned up slightly.
Ariel got into the car and informed Perry of the hospital’s address. Then, she kept silent.
Perry turned up the heater slightly and said, “I spoke to my friend, the doctor. He said he could meet you on the 20th.”
She never thought that Perry would follow through. She now had a confirmed meeting with the doctor.
“Thank you.” After she expressed her gratitude, Ariel continued, “Let me know if there’s anything you need my help with.”
Ariel decided she would return the favor somehow.
Perry tightened his grip on the steering wheel. “Don’t worry about it.”
Ariel fell silent once again, and perhaps because Perry was driving at a nice, stable speed, Ariel started feeling a bit drowsy.
Perry nced sideways at Ariel’s profile. She looked calm and rxed.
Ariel had probably applied some lipstick. Her lips were full and plump. They reminded Perry of delicate rose petals.
Perry blinked a few times and swallowed dryly. He snapped out of his reverie when he heard his phone vibrating
Perry Instantly came back to his senses. He pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling flustered. Then, he picked up his phone and nced at it.
Jayson’s name was disyed on the screen.
Perry’s expression remained the same as he held his phone up. Then, he pressed the reject button.
