Chapter 215
Ariel looked at Freya for a moment. Eventually, she epte Perry’s offer to help. “Thank you. I owe you one.” After all, she and Perry weren’t even that close. If possible, Ariel didn’t want to owe anyone any huge favors. Perry could sense that Ariel was trying to keep her distance. He hesitated for a moment before nodding “Alright. I’ll let you know once I’ve made an appointment with him.
Ariel came up with an excuse and left first. Freya watched as Ariel walked away.
She turned her head and nced at Perry. “Ms. Walker’s husband is an awful man. Am I right? He didn’t care for Ms. Walker or try to keep herpany, even though she’s sick. I definitely won’t date a man like that in the future.
Perry was struck speechless.
“You can’t say things like that when others are around. Alright?”
Freya pursed her lips. “Why, though?”
“Ms. Walker’s divorced now.”
Freya was shocked at first. However, she quickly said, “Really? Can you try pursuing Ms. Walker and ask her to be your girlfriend, Perry? I like her.”
patted Freya’s head as he stared in the direction Ariel had headed off to. He muttered, “You can’t start a rtionship if only one person feels attracted to the other person.”
Ariel managed to prevent Freya and Perry from tagging along as she left to meet Howard and discuss the results of her checkup.
Fortunately, everything seemed to remain under control. Although they had not observed any drastic improvement, it was still good news to Ariel as long as her condition had not worsened.
Howard prescribed a new targeted drug for her. After that, Ariel went back to the office.
At 3:00 pm, Ariel received a call from Betty.
It was rare for Betty to call her during work hours. Ariel took the call since she thought it might be for something urgent. “Grandma?”
Betty said gently, affectionately, “Ari, are you busy right now?”
Ariel nced at her watch. “Not really. Is something the matter?”
Betty responded, “Have you and Jayson settled everything for the house? Do you guys want toe and stay over at Larkin Manor?”
Ariel felt rather confused. She wasn’t sure what Betty was talking about. “The house?”
“Aren’t you two looking for the interior designer at the moment?” Betty sounded like she was in a good mood. She said cheerfully, “Jayson said that the two of you had decided to renovate your marital home. He already instructed some men to clear out everything and knock down some of the walls and structures inside the house today.”
From outside, their marital home still looked the same. However, theyout of each floor had changed now since a
lot of the structures inside the house were torn down.
Ariel froze for a moment. However, she quickly snapped out of it.
Betty continued, “I’m sure it’s pretty much like a wastnd inside the house at the moment. It’ll probably take a few months for you to finish renovating the house. So, I was thinking, why not the two of you stay at Larkin
Manor for the time being? It’ll save you a lot of trouble.”
Ariel finally understood what Belly was trying to tell her.
Jayson bought their marital home and tore down almost everything Inside the house….
Three years ago, Ariel personally oversaw the whole process of their marital home being built, starting from theyout design to picking the furniture.
Be it the tiles, the walls, or the kitchen equipment… Ariel had poured all of her heart and effort into building their home.
This somehow exined why Jayson had seldom stayed in their marital home. He did not just despise Ariel Jayson probably hated everything about the house as well.
The other day, he changed the house password and discarded herptop and some of her belongings. This time, he tore down everything inside their marital home.
Jayson didn’t even inform her beforehand, even though he knew Betty might ask her about the house. They had signed an agreement to keep their divorce a secret. And yet, Jayson didn’t seem worried about Ariel making a slip in front of Betty.
As for him renovating the house, Ariel felt that Jayson was probably trying to stop Betty from visiting their marital home since she might notice that Ariel had moved out and that they had even divorced.
With the house being under renovation, Jayson would be able to get rid of any underlying risks.
Ariel lifted her gaze and nced at the calendar ced on the left side of her desk.
She had drawn a circle on a specific day by using a red pen. Grandma, I’ll be busy with work in theing days.
It’s far for me tomute to work from Larkin Manor. So,
won’t be staying over.”
