Ariel could tell from Jayson’s remark that he was talking about Faye Tech’s request to have Nancy reced with someone else.
He didn’t seem or sound angry at all. His face showed no emotion as it always had.
Still, Ariel couldn’t help but wonder whether Jayson was trying to me her for what happened or if he was just trying to be sarcastic. She slowed down in her steps.
She couldn’t be bothered with what Jayson was trying to tell her. Ariel continued walking in big strides.
Jayson probably hadn’t noticed Ariel was trying to leave. He dropped his gaze and shoved his lighter into his pocket. Then, Jayson directed his gaze to Ariel. “Was it your idea to request a recement for the person in charge of the project?”
As if she had seen iting, Ariel halted and turned her eyes to Jayson. She said tly, “You don’t necessarily have to work with us if you’re unhappy with that, Mr. Larkin.”
She didn’t bother to offer any further exnations. Ariel saw no need to argue with anyone over this incident involving Nancy. There was no point in doing something like that.
Jayson tilted his head down and stared at Ariel’s face.
Ariel didn’t show any strong emotions when talking about the incident. It was as if the incident waspletely insignificant to her.
A brief momentter, Jayson let out a soft chuckle while his gaze was still on Ariel. His voice was devoid of warmth and feeling
Jayson curled his lips. His eyes were unreadable. “Is terminating the project or the coboration the harshest word you can think of?”
Ariel’s brows knitted at that. Somehow, what Jayson just said made her feel quite uneasy. He spoke nonchntly, sounding as though the incident was not that big of a deal to him.
Truthfully, Jayson wasn’t nning to oppose or argue against the Faye Tech team’s decision. After staring at Ariel for a moment, Jayson walked past her and entered the private room where Nancy and Sarah were.
Ariel could vaguely hear Nancy’s gentle voiceing from the room. “Jayson, thank you for taking some time to have lunch with us, especially since it’s on a day when my mom has finally gotten permission to leave the hospital briefly.”
That exined why Nancy was in a good mood despite being forced to back out of the project. Jayson had managed to cheer Nancy up by doing this for her and Sarah.
Frankly, Ariel was quite surprised to see Jayson’s current attitude. She thought that Jayson would fly into a temper. After all, they were quite blunt and straightforward when they informed the Nexura Solutions team of their decision.
A proud, dignified woman like Nancy had gotten used to having things her way most of the time. Moreover, Jayson cherished her dearly. Could he really overlook the incident just like that?
Ariel decided not to pay any mind to these details anymore. She headed toward the table she and Janice had made a
reservation for.
As for whether Jayson would take any actions regarding the incident, they could worry about itter. It would be pointless for them to dwell on the issue before it happened.
Ariel didn’t tell Janice what had taken ce at the restaurant before she met up with her. She quickly put the Incident out of her mind.
After having lunch, the two of them went back to the office. Just as they reached the office building, Ariel received Noah’s WhatsApp message.
“Ms. Walker, we have several guests in the office. Mr. Hockney isn’t back yet. Can I know how long it will take before you and Ms. Swanson get back to the office?”
Both Ariel and Janice were feeling quite puzzled. They took the elevator to head upstairs.
As they entered the conference room, Ariel and Janice spotted Frederick and Zach, who had just taken their seats on the couch.
Janice’s expression hardened. “What are you doing here? Do you have so much free time on your schedule?”
Frederick stared at Janice with a disgruntled look on his face. “Dad had mee here to discuss with Faye Tech’s team about potential coborations and opportunities for ourpanies. Janice Swanson, don’t forget which family you actually belong to.”
He found it ridiculous that Janice was being so cold and rude to him because of someone who wasn’t even rted to them by blood.
Janice couldn’t be bothered to argue with him. She directed her gaze at Zach, who sat there rxedly. “Mr.
Quinton, what are you doing here today then?”
Zach’s gaze drifted across Ariel’s face before he said, “I mentioned it to Mr. Hockney yesterday, and I think it’s best if we can sit down and discuss the matter more thoroughly.
“I’m sure you’re aware of Vireon’s capabilities at producing new, enhanced materials, Ms. Swanson. These materials will prove to be helpful in the process of creating newer, more innovative technologies. So, can I know when Mr. Hockney will be back in his office?”
Zach visited home yesterday.
Gary told him that Faye Tech most likely had an extraordinary expert helping them with their operation. That person was probably someone Chad had found. Even the government was showing a lot of interest and attention in the projects that the said person was working on.
It would be perfect if both Vireon and Faye Tech could profit from a coboration.
Zach was aware that the Faye Tech team could sometimes be rather stuck–up and demanding
