Inside 209

    Chapter 209

Zach held his hand out toward Chad. “You’ve been really busy since Faye Techunched the new project, Mr. Hockney. You have everyone’s attention wherever you go these days.”

Jayson said with a nod toward Chad, “Mr. Hockney.”

Chad greeted all of them politely. He grinned. “It’s safe to say things are going well so far. After all, ourpany is working with Nexura Solutions this time. With their employees‘ level of expertise and professional work ethics, I’m sure I won’t have to worry about a thing regarding the project.”

Nancy subconsciously furrowed her brows upon hearing those words.

Jayson’s expression remained unchanged. “Of course. You can put your faith in us, Mr. Hockney.”

Zach nced alternately between the two of them. Then, he whispered to Chad, “I’ve heard that Faye Tech will need high–end, enhanced material and support from various businesses and industries for your new project. Why not consider coborating with Vireon as well, Mr. Hockney?”

Zach’s parents had reminded him to grab the opportunity while he could.

Zach was rather disappointed with how Faye Tech had handled their internal affairs and how their leaders could not seem to remainpletely objective and were easily influenced by a mere assistant in their decision–making process. Still, their project was undeniably very profitable in the long run

Chad responded tactfully, “Well, of course. Vireon is considered one of the top yers in the industry. However, issues rting to coborative work are noughing matter. I’ll have to discuss with our shareholders first beforeing back to you with a reply, Mr. Quinton.”

    Zach frowned slightly.

There was no way Chad did not have the authority to decide on that matter. It was obvious he was only saying that to subtly turn down Zach’s offer.

“I see that everyone’s here.” A middle–aged man with a stoic face walked up to them and stopped beside Zach.

“Long time no see, Mr. Larkin and Mr. Hockney.”

Jayson smiled faintly. “It’s been quite some time, Commander Quinton.”

Chad showed Gary Quinton, who held a high position in their country’s Department of Defense, a lot respect. Gary was also Zach’s father.

“Who might this be?” Gary nced at Nancy and asked.

Nancy replied calmly, “Hello, Commander Quinton. I’m Nancy Stanton. I specialized in the studies of aerospace engineering. I just came back from Merinia not too long ago afterpleting my studies there.”

Zach added, “Ms. Stanton was one of the top performers among her peers. Shepleted an integrated master’s and PhD program in aerospace engineering at Arcadia Tech. She’s one of the very few females who’s shown a lot of potential in her field of expertise.”

Nancy looked humble with a faint smile on her lips..

Gary cast a nce at Zach and nodded. “She’s Mr. Larkin’s girlfriend?”

He could tell that Jayson and Nancy were not just friends with how Nancy had ced her hand on Jayson’s arm.

Chad stiffened slightly. His gaze drifted toward Jayson.

A lot of the guests here could not possibly know that Gary would be attending today’s exhibition. Yet, Jayson might not necessarily be unaware of it.

It made Chad wonder if Jayson had deliberately brought Nancy here to introduce her to Gary

Jayson raised his brows after hearing Gary’s question. Meanwhile, Nancy dropped her gaze and smiled.

Before the two of them could say anything, Gary turned his eyes to Zach. “You should be learning from Mr. Larkin He’s sessful in his business, and he even has an extremely capable girlfriend. It’s about time you consider settling down too.”

Zach seemed awkward as he gave a little cough.

Gary’s schedule was usually packed. He managed to visit the exhibition today since he had made time for it.

He checked the time. Gary didn’t try to find out what the differentpanies had been working on togethertely “I have to leave now. You guys should carry on with your discussion.”

Zach followed him all the way to the entrance to see him off

Gary nced in the direction of the hall once more. “Faye Tech is showing a lot of potential for growth and development in their business. You should try to form a strong connection with Mr. Hockney. Their business might soon expand into the defense industry as well.”

Zach recalled Chad’s ambiguous response from earlier. He massaged the spot between his brows. “I’ll try my best.

Gary nodded. He had a stern, piercing look in his eyes. “You have pretty high standards. Are women like Ms. Stanton your cup of tea?”

Zach chuckled and shook his head. “Dad, what are you even talking about?”

Before he got into the car, Gary patted Zach’s shoulder. “The identity of the engineer who created the U.N2 reconnaissance and strike drone has been kept a secret. All we know is that the person is a young woman. If there’s a chance, we may be able to introduce her to you.”

Zach was bewildered. He never expected to learn such shocking news.

“The developer of UN2 was a young woman?” He eximed inwardly.

In the exhibition hall, Chad just received a call from Ariel. His expression turned grim after he learned what had happened from her.

Ariel spoke calmly on the phone. “The Nexura Solutions team and Nancy had objections to our requirements and felt that our team was being too idealistic with our ns and requests. That means the twopanies have a disagreement with regard to our goals and ideals for the project.

“We shouldn’t waste our time fussing over these details with them. It’s either they rece the person in charge of the project or we terminate the project altogether.”
