Inside 202

Ariel didn’t understand what Janice meant.

“What do you mean? I’ve received the full payment, and our project’s up and running. Of course, it’s sold.”

But Janice looked even more baffled. “I went to the county recorder’s office today. Remember how my dad bought me those two properties? I went to handle the paperwork. Guess who I ran into?”

    “Who?” Ariel asked.

“Colton. Jayson’s secretary.” Janice’s face was full of disbelief. “He was there handling some real estate stuff for Jayson. I chatted with one of the staff. They said Colton was filing for a property in Crescent Point.”

    Ariel’s expression froze.

Crescent Point? That was where their marital home was located. What <b>was </b>going on?

Ariel’s face showed clear disbelief. She immediately pulled out her phone and messaged her real estate agent.

The reply came quickly. “Ms. Walker, the buyer’s identity is confidential, but the person who came in to handle the paperwork had thest name Zeller.”

There was no more doubt about it. The buyer of the marital home was Jayson.

Ariel had listed it for sale, and Jayson had bought it back without <b>a </b><b>word</b>.

No wonder Jayson had asked her that question the same day she got confirmation that the house had been <b>sold</b>.

“It’s really him?” Janice was stunned.

Ariel frowned deeply. She couldn’t wrap her head around it

Jayson had already given her the house. If she chose to sell, that was her right. Why would he turn around and buy it back?

    Ariel waspletely baffled.

Still, the money had arrived and pulled Faye Technologies out of its financial crunch. That was what mattered. But as the evening approached and work wrapped up, Ariel got a call from Colton.

“Ms. Walker, do you have time tonight? Mr. Larkin would like you toe by Crescent Point,” Colton said. His tone left no room for negotiation.

Ariel didn’t care much about the house anymore. She <b>said </b>calmly, “If he <b>has </b>something to say, he can say it directly.”

“You’ll understand once you’re there. Per the terms of the divorce agreement, we hope you’ll cooperate, Ms. Walker.” Colton didn’t borate.

Since he mentioned the divorce agreement, it was probably something important.

Ariel gently pressed her fingers to her brow. “Alright, I got it.”

Because the <b>agreement </b>required her to cooperate within the first year, Ariel drove over after work.

When she arrived at the marital home, she habitually entered the code.

Suddenly, a beep sounded, indicating that she had entered an incorrect password.

That was when it hit her. Jayson had bought the house back and immediately changed the code. That was really quick.

Then again, unless he had asked to meet, Ariel hadn’t nned oning back anyway. There was no need for him to be on guard.

Ariel’s expression didn’t change much. She pressed the doorbell instead.

After <b>a </b>moment, the door opened.

Jayson stood there. His deep eyes showed no emotion as he looked at her, just as they always had.

“You just got off work?” he asked.

Ariel was momentarily taken aback because he had clearly just showered. He was wearing a bathrobe. The cor fell open to reveal solid chest muscles and faint outlines of his toned chest muscles.

Ariel subtly looked away. “Say what you need to <b>say</b>.”

Jayson turned and looked back at her. <b>“</b>Aren’t youing in?”

    Ariel frowned slightly.

Jayson leanedzily against the kitchen ind and chuckled “What are you so nervous about? Do you think I’m gonna eat you?”

Ariel pressed her lips together and ignored his teasing. “De need to change into slippers?”

Noticing her overly polite manner, Jayson responded calmly, “Up to you.”

So Ariel didn’t bother. The house would be cleaned by someone else anyway.

“Do you want something to drink?” Jayson offered.

“No.” Ariel checked the time. It was nearly 8:00 pm. She looked up at him. “Just get to the point.”

She had no intention of staying here long. If not for the use in the divorce agreement, she wouldn’t have shown up at <b>all</b>.

As for why he had bought the house back, she had no intention of asking. That was Jayson’s business.

Maybe he had always liked this ce. Back when they were married, he avoideding home because of her. Now that they were divorced, he probably found it peaceful to be here again.

“Fine<i>.</i>” Jayson stepped forward and stood in front of her. “<b>Grandma’s </b>been asking questions, I need you to help me deal with her.”
