Inside 22

    Chapter 22

Ariel was standing next to Chad. They were talking about something, but anyone could tell that they both had matching scarves on them.

What level of intimacy wouldpel two adults to wear matching scarves?

Jayson looked up and happened to see Ariel patting Chad on the back. The two of them seemed to look close.

Matt chuckled coldly. “I’ve truly underestimated her. She has no real skills, but when ites to hooking up with men, she’s quite experienced.”

Perry frowned and nced over to Ariel. He had been at the receiving end of her cold, disgusted gaze days before. Compared to how she was looking at Chad now, it was clear that she felt differently toward him.

“Wait, but how did she know Chad?” Matt asked, perplexed.

Although Faye Technologies was still in the early stages of stabilizing and developing, Chad hade from a strong background and had top–tier abilities.

Logically, someone from Ariel’s level shouldn’t have had the opportunity to connect with him.

    “Jayson?” Matt turned to Jayson.

Jayson briefly nced at his watch, seemingly uninterested. “I’ll send Nancy back.”

    Nancy was lost in thought.

    ????

Jayson brought her to meet up with the big shots in the industry today, but of all people, Ariel showed up. Ariel even looked like she was close to Chad, and they happened to see them together now.

Everything no longer seemed like coincidences if they happened all at once.

“No wonder Mr. Hockney refused to meet me today,” Nancy said.

Matt and Percy turned to look at her. “What do you mean?”

Nancy calmly replied, “Everything makes sense if Ariel and Mr. Hockney knew each other.”

“Is Ariel settling personal scores?” Matt immediately figured out what she was implying. “She has a grudge against you, and that’s why sheined to Chad?”

“Is Chad the type to lose his mind over women?” Percy asked, surprised.

Nancy shook her head and replied, “It

Matter. My abilities will make him overlook any biases.”

gave her a thumbs up. “As expected of Nancy–graceful and generous!”

Jayson said nothing as he simply nced over toward the other side.

Meanwhile, Ariel didn’t look back even though she felt the sharp gaze on her. Although she knew it was from Jayson, she didn’t pay it any mind.

She sent Chad, who had drunk some alcohol earlier, home. He waved at her before heading upstairs with the scarf still on him.

    ”

Ariel nced at him and made noment. She then drove herself home.

She found her current lifestyle easy and carefree.

Jayson returned to their marital home at 9:30 pm.

The household staff hadn’t finished their shifts yet. One of them immediately stepped forward to take his coat.” Would you like me to run the bath for you, sir?”

Jayson paused, realizing that Ariel usually did these things. “Yes.”

Georgia nnad quickly headed upstairs, with him following behind. He slipped his fingers into the tie clip to loosen it.

Jayson entered the bedroom, which only had a bedsidemp on. He hadn’t been home these past few days.

He narrowed his eyes when he saw Georgia stepping out after running the bath. “Is Ariel still not back yet?”

She was taken aback. “Mrs. Larkin? She hasn’t been back for the past few days.”

Jayson frowned slightly as he tugged off his tie. He then nced over to Ariel’s vanity and asked, “Since when?”

He also pulled out his phone to send her a WhatsApp message.

Georgia gave it some thought before replying, “Probably sincest Tuesday.”

Jayson lowered his gaze as he recalled what day it was, eventually realizing that it was the day after Nancy’s birthday. Ever since, Ariel started acting differently, as if she was apletely different person.

After some contemtion, he simply curled his lips and closed the chat with her, deciding not to ask any more questions.

Jayson entered the bathroom and nced at the warm bath in the bathtub. In the past, there would always be essential oils added for rxation purposes. However, nothing was prepared today.

    He suddenly lost interest.

Jayson’s phone on the countertop happened to vibrate. He turned to leave after ncing over.

Georgia asked, “Are you heading out, sir?”

Jayson was busy replying to the text as he said, “You guys can get off work now. I’ll be staying somewhere else tonight.”
