Tuff had just finished a long night shift, and on his way home in the early morning, he was so tired he could barely keep his eyes open.

When he got home, Ka had already set out breakfast. Ka greeted him with a gentle smile, “Honey, you’re off work? Eat something before you get some sleep.”

“Alright.” Tuff replied, settling down at the table.

Tuff cupped the steaming bowl of soup in his hands and ate it.

The soup his wife had made herself was trulyforting–after just half a bowl, his whole body felt warm.

“Honey, you’re the best,” Tuff said, looking at Ka with affection.

It would be perfect if he could just take a nap with Ka by his side. She’s so soft and smells so good–holding her close was pure bliss.

“The court summons should reach Joyce today,” Ka said.

Tuff frowned. “Don’t even mention her in front of me. She’s bad luck.”

“I just wanted to let you know, that’s all,” Ka said with a smile.

“Just don’t kill her. Handle her however you like,” Tuff said.

    “Yeah,” Ka replied.

After Tuff finished eating, Ka cleared the table and prepared to leave.

Tuff asked, “Honey, where are you going?”

“Landon opened apany for me, so I’m heading to work,” Ka said.

    “What?”

He was instantly on high alert, wide awake as if someone had sshed cold water on his face.

Ka shed a gentle sinile. “The Kingsley family is making moves in Lunova, and I’m the one taking the

    lead

“I’ming with you? Tuff said, snatching up his coat, his face set like he was heading into battle.

“The Kingsley family’s fortune could feed their descendants for ages–what’s the point of expanding in Lunova? Seriously, what a load of crap! Landon’s totally throwing me a warning here, Tuff thought, feeling a chill run down his spine.

“No need, I’ve got this,” Ka said, nudging Tuff toward the bedroom. “You worked all night. Go catch up on some sleep.”

    Sat, Sep 6

“But I’m not tired anymore…” Tuff grumbled.

“You still need to rest,” Ka insisted.

Ka wouldn’t budge, and Tuff whined, his face scrunched up. “Honey…”

“Don’t you want the Kingsley family to expand in Lunova?” Ka asked.

“No…” Tuff replied, though he didn’t mean it at all.

    That was a total lie.

Ka couldn’t help butugh. “Then go to sleep. I’ll make dinner when I get back this afternoon.”

“Honey, let me send some people with you,” Tuff said.

“No need. Aaron’s here,” Ka said.

    Tuff was stunned.

‘Seriously? Even Aaron’s been sent over. Landon’s totally trying to keep me in check,’ Tuff thought.

“Be good, don’t stress yourself,” Ka said, pressing a kiss to Tuff’s forehead before heading out.

Tuff felt like crying. This was all Joyce’s fault for stirring up trouble again.

Meanwhile, Joyce woke up snuggled in a guy’s warm arms.

She was totally hooked on the feeling and didn’t want to move at all.

For a second, she got why that old emperor from the stories never wanted to leave his lover’s side.

If it were Tuff lying next to her, she’d never get out of bed either–she’d be just like that emperor, skipping work every morning.

Just thinking about it made her bitterness re up even more.

She picked up her phone and sent the video she’d editedst night over to Ka, feeling a bit smug.

Ka replied almost instantly: [Got it.]

Joyce burst outughing. “What a weirdo.”

‘Who actually replies “Got it” after receiving a video like this?‘ Joyce thought, rolling her eyes.

Alright, now it was just a waiting game. Ka would definitely call once she finished watching the video.

Joyce could already picture Ka getting all worked up and taking it out on Tuff, and the thought made her feel pretty smug.

There was no such thing as a marriage that couldn’t be broken–just mistresses who didn’t try hard enough.

    18:27 Sat, Sep 6

Joyce was sure she could split Ka and Tuff up for good.

Joyce rolled over and identally bumped into the guy’s morning erection.

The man opened his eyes, gazing at her intensely. “Baby, do you want it?”

Joyce was in a great mood and agreed with a smile. “Just go easy on me, okay?”

    “Sure!” he replied.

They ended up tangled together again, and Joyce was left crying softly beneath him, like a little kitten.

Ka nced at the live feed and clicked out of it.

‘Such a freak!‘ Ka thought, rolling her eyes.

‘Still not done crying fromst night?‘ she snarked to herself.

As for the video Joyce had sent, Ka didn’t even bother to look at it—she just saved it forter, knowing it mighte in handy.

Joyce didn’t get home until noon.

She walked in and spotted the court summons sitting right there–she was totally stunned for a moment.

She tore open the envelope and almost passed out on the spot.

Landon had actually sued her for defamation.

‘Seriously? It’s been days and she’s stilling for me? What a psycho!‘ Joyce thought, rolling her eyes.

Furious, Joyce flung the summons onto the floor.

She checked her phone, surprised to see no reply.

‘Unbelievable!‘ Joyce thought, feeling like her nerves were on edge.

Unable to stand the suspense, she just dialed up Ka. “Did you see the video?”

“Yeah, it was pretty exciting,” Ka replied, totally unfazed.

She was signing documents as she answered.

Her tone was so calm, it was like she was just talking about the weather.

Joyce choked for a second, then demanded, her voice sharper, “That’s it? That’s all you have to say?”

    “What else?” Ka shot back.

“Tuff was with mest night. Doesn’t that bother you at all?” Joyce pressed.

    18:27 Sat, Sep 6

“He was on night shift,” Ka said, her voice steady.

“Oh, really? Night shift with me, you mean. Go ahead, ask hispany–he wasn’t even therest night,” Joyce shot back, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

“He wasn’t supposed to be there anyway,” Ka replied, cool as ever.

She just rolled her eyes, speechless.

Tuff was actually on duty with the Flying Tiger Sect! Joyce had no clue about his real identity, and here she was, acting all smug, totally clueless, making a fool of herself.

And the funniest thing–Joyce was totally clueless about how much of a clown she was making of herself.

    Joyce was fuming.

She didn’t believe any wife could be this calm. Ka’s definitely just putting on a show in front of her. She’s probably freaking out inside.

Joyce let out a coldugh. “Looks like you’ve finallye to your senses. You’re not even trying to fight me anymore.”

“Ms. Lambert, you got the court summons, right? I’ve got the Kingsley Group’s legal team on this, so you better take it seriously,” Ka said before hanging up.

The newpany was just getting started, and there were so many things to handle. She was really swamped.

Joyce was so pissed she chucked her phone across the room.

‘Seriously, how can Ka stay so chill?‘ Joyce fumed, totally losing it.

But right now, the real problem was this damn summons she had to deal with.

Her head was throbbing as she started calling upwyers.

However, facts spoke louder than words. No matter how skilled, awyer could not twist the truth.

Besides, the Kingsley family’s legal team was basically unbeatable in Norava.

Joyce lost and was fined. She had to pay Ka just one dor for emotional damage.

    It was downright humiliating.

Honestly, if thepensation had been higher, it wouldn’t have stung so much. But Ka had only asked for a single dor–just to rub it in.

Aaron sent the court verdict to everyone at the newpany and told them to spam their Instagram with it for three days straight.

Joyce instantly became the biggest joke in Lunova’s social scene–she was cklisted from every high–society party in town.

Meanwhile, Ka was back in the spotlight, her name on everyone’s lips.

“When the Princess of Kingsley said she’s gonna sue, she actually does it–her follow–through is insane!”

“The Kingsley Group’s got a newpany in Lunova, and it’s obvious they’re backing the princess. Landon’s a business shark, and he’s got eyes and ears everywhere in this city. We’d be nuts to mess with him.”

“Ka move was like a roundhouse kick out of nowhere–hits you right in the gut and there’s no way to dodge it!”

“The princess is a total badass!”

    *****

Aaron was loving every second of it. He sent a message back to Norava. [The Princess is really showing her power now…]

[d to hear it.] Landon grinned at the nickname. [So, how’s Tuff holding up?]

[Other than working at thepany and with the Flying Tiger Sect, he’s mostly just spending time with her.] Aaron replied.

    [Keep watching him.] Landon said.

Aaron hesitated. [Is that really necessary, Mr. Kingsley?]

Landon snorted. [It’s not that I don’t trust him—I’m just worried he’ll get yed by some woman. The guy’s clueless. If my sister wasn’t so sharp, he’d be bawling his eyes out somewhere by now.]

Aaron nced back at the CEO’s office, where Tuff was bustling around attentively, helping Ka handle her tasks and ease her burdens.

Tuff really didn’t have it easy.

He owed Joyce his life, so he couldn’t really go all out against her.
