Chapter 330
The drive from the hotel to the vi took just an hour.
But the waiting felt endless.
None of them knew when this operation would end–they could only wait.
Amelia waited for Landon, Aiden waited for Night Owl, and Ka waited for Tuff.
Compared to the anxious faces of Amelia and Aiden, Ka looked way more rxed,
She was all smiles as she returned to the estate, even going to check out her old room, and then wandered around the garden, pointing out the flowers and nts with a cheerful grin.
a
Seeing how worried Amelia was, Ka decided to call Gloria for video chat.
“Mom, how are you feeling?” Ka asked.
“I’m doing great. Wesleyes by every day. How about you guys?” Gloria replied.
“We’re good. We’ll be back in a few days,” Ka said with a smile.
“What kind of huge order needs both you siblings to get involved? Seriously!” Gloriained.
After her surgery, Gloria finally got to cuddle her grandson just like she’d always dreamed. But then Landon and Amelia both had to leave for work.
And before long, Ka and Tuff were heading out on business too.
So it was just Gloria and her little grandson left at home–no wonder she felt so lonely.
“Mom, this order is enough to set the Kingsley family up for three generations! It’s a really big deal,” Ka said with augh, looking like she didn’t have a care in the world.
Amelia admired how unppable Ka was. Ka’s mood was infectious, and soon Amelia found herself smiling and chatting with Gloria too.
It had been ages since the mother–inw and daughter–inw had a real chat, and once Gloria started talking, she just couldn’t stop.
They covered everything–from Kimsey’s potty training to Landen’s schoolwork.
Aiden watched from the side, and he couldn’t help but feel a wave of jealousy.
He didn’t have any family to chat with, no one to help him ease his nerves.
“By the way, did you guys visit the Kyle family in Dreicean? Aiden might be a bit stubborn, but deep down he’s a good guy… Is he seeing anyone?” Gloria
asked.
Aiden, suddenly hearing his name, was startled and froze for a second, then a surge of pure joy flooded him.
‘Turns out, there really is someone out there who cares about me,‘ Aiden thought.
“Him…” Ka began.
“Aunt Gloria, I’m right here,” Aiden called out./
Aiden squeezed in, practically elbowing Ka and Amelia out of the way.
“Oh, there you are! Ka and the others are on a business trip in Dreicean, so sorry to trouble you again,” Gloria said with a smile,
Mon, 16 Aug
Aiden quickly replied, “It’s really no trouble at all–happy to help.”
“Thank you so much. Landen’s at school right now, but as soon as he gets home, I’ll have him give you a call. He talks about you at the binary det
“Oh, thank you, Aunt Gloria! That really means a lot,” Aiden replied.
“It’s about time you found someone special. Being alone all the time isn’t good for you,” Gloria added
Aiden felt like her words struck right at his heart, a bittersweet ache spreading through his chest.
He kind of wanted to cry.
“Thank you, Aunt Gloria. I actually do have someone special,” Aiden said, his chin lifted stubbornly as he tried to keep hisposure.
Gloria’s face lit up with joy. “Oh, that’s wonderful news! When Ka got married, you gave such a generous gift. When it’s your turn, I will make sure to give you a big red envelope too.”
“Thank you…”
Aiden’s eyes turned red, his voice catching in his throat as he waspletely overwhelmed with emotion.
Ka and Amelia exchanged nces, wanting to pull him away but just couldn’t bring themselves to do it.
‘He really is so lonely,’ Ka thought to herself.
‘If only he and Night Owl could actually end up together,‘ Amelia thought.
“But with Night Owl’s frail health, how long can she really hold on in the Mystic Sect?‘ Ka wondered.
‘Are things going smoothly for them?‘ The same question popped into both Ka and Amelia’s minds at once.
Amelia quietly tugged at her sister’s hand. “Don’t worry, sis…”
“I’m not worried,” Ka quickly broke into a smile. “I believe they’ll get through anything, no matter how many obstacles stand in their way.”
She paused, then added, “Even if it’s all for
us!”
Amelia’s heart surged with fierce determination and hope.
‘Yes! Even if it’s just for me and our son, Landon wille back safely!‘ Amelia told herself.
‘He will!‘ she insisted inwardly.
Inside the Mystic Sect, it was a hidden world all its own.
Upstairs was a medical devicepany, but down in the basement was the headquarters of the Mystic Sect, equipped with the world’s most advanced medical technology and staffed by top experts.
In the cutting–edge researchb, a group of people in whiteb coats were busy at work, moving with an order that seemed almost magical.
Marvel had just developed the antidote for the love spell and was now testing it on a live subject.
On the tabley the Zuckerberg family’s “Secret Art” book that Joanna had brought. The tattered pages and strange symbols only added to its mysterious aura.
Monroe flipped through the book, but since he couldn’t make sense of it, he quickly lost interest and set it aside.

“Bro, I think it’s done,” Marvel finally announced, a note of triumph in his voice the antidote was a sede
Monroe let out a long breath. “You really worked hard on this. Thanks, man!”
“It’s for Monica, after all. We can’t afford even the tiniest mistake,” Marvel said. At his feet, a cage was filled with the bodies of mea that hison for v the trials.
Meanwhile, the staff member who’d been handling all those test subjects just copsed onto the floor, gasping for breath, overwhelmed Warfelel
‘Thank goodness Mr. Montgomery pulled it off. Otherwise, I’d have ended up just like those poor mice!‘ the staffer thought, shuddering
“How many doses of the antidote did you make?” Monroe asked.
“Three,” Monroe replied.
“I’ll take one, and we’ll destroy the other two,” Monroe said.
Marvel looked a little reluctant.
He’d been running on no sleep for days just to make these antidotes.

“We can’t give Landon even the slightest chance to break free from the curse,” Monroe said, shooting him a warning look.
“Okay.” Marvel tossed the other two antidotes down the drain and flushed them away.
“The power of the love spell is really something. It’s even created a love triangle,” Marvel said proudly. “But Monica still won’t ept Landon, huh?”
“Yeah. She only slept with him because I forced her,” Monroe replied.
“These are Monica’s fertile days. She’ll probably get pregnant, right?” Marvel asked.
“Most likely,” Monroe said.
“That’s great! We’re going to have a grandchild,” Marvel said.
Monroe actually said “we,” like Monica was his own daughter too.

The two brothers not only looked exactly alike, but even wore matching clothes. Sitting across from each other at the table, it was like looking in a mirror.
“I wonder what kind of powers our grandchild will inherit. Too bad we can’t just pick the genes ourselves…” Monroe’s imagination was running wild and his face lighting up with excitement.
“Once she’s pregnant, I have ways to boost the gic quality,” Marvel said, flipping through the book on the table. “If it weren’t for Joanna bringing the Zuckerberg family’s ‘Secret Art,‘ I never could’ve made the antidote. This book is incredible–it’s packed with the kind of knowledge I’ve always dreamed
of!”
hard work!” Monroe said, pping his twin brother on the shoulder.
“Alright, I’ll leave the rest to you–thanks for all your
Just as they were about to leave, Monroe’s phone rang–it was an urgent call from security.
“Mr. Montgomery, someone’s broken into the basement. They scanned their iris to get in, so the rm never went off. I can’t see who it is from my end yet…” the security guard reported.
“That’s impossible. Only…” Monroe and Marvel/exchanged a nce, both instantly tensing up.
This ce held their deepest secret.
Not only did it house the espers they’d collected from all over the world, but it also contained the crystal coffin!

So, no one but the two brothers and Monica could get through the security door.
‘Who could have possibly broken in?‘ Montgomery wondered, his mind racing.
“Could it be that Paul is up to something?” Marvel’s face darkened as he strode out.
He remembered what his brother had said–thanks to the love spell, Monica would do whatever Paul told her.
‘If that bastard dares use Monica to steal from the Mystic Sect, I’ll make sure he doesn’t walk out alive!‘ Monroe thought, his eyes cold.
“Deal with him after we break the curse,” Monroe reminded, following right behind.
As they headed back, nothing seemed out of ce.
The brothers stopped in their tracks, instantly on guard.
‘Did Paul not steal anything? And Monica didn’te to see us like she usually does when she’s happy?‘ Monroe wondered.
‘Could it be that Paul figured out Monica only loves him because of the curse, and now he wants to kill us before we break it–just so he can make himself the head of the Mystic Sect?‘ Monroe thought, his mind racing.
‘He really doesn’t know his own limits!‘ Montgomery scoffed inwardly.
Suddenly, a strange clicking sound rang out–sharp and unsettling.
Something was off.
The brothers both nched, then bolted deeper into the Mystic Sect.
