Chapter 210
Chapter 210
Two hours </bter, Tuff led Daniel and Amelia to a secluded, high end sanatorium in the Lunova suburbs.
“Isn’t Jonas’s master a poison expert? Did she retire here or something?” Daniel asked in surprise.
Tuff replied. “This is one of the Flying Tiger Gate’s research bases.”
“Impressive, really impressive!” Daniel said, pping with genuine admiration.
This ce had been featured in the news several times for its excellent environment and high fees, and even he had thought it was just a sanatorium.
Turns out, this was full of hidden experts.
“It’s nothing special.” Tuff waved his hand. “Your Zuckerberg family just stays out of military and political business, that’s all.”
Daniel just smiled at that, saying nothing.
The sanatorium was huge. After they entered with facial recognition, they drove for another twenty minutes before they finally saw Jonas.
He was kneeling in front of an olddy with white hair, looking as downcast as a lost, abandoned puppy.
“Granny is the poison master of our Flying Tiger Gate. All those toxins in your hidden weapons? She’s the one who made them,” Tuff exined.
Amelia asked, “So what should I call her?”
“Just call her Granny, like we do,” Tuff replied.
“Got it,” Aaron said.
Amelia nodded, walked up to Granny, and addressed her respectfully, “Hello, Granny. I’m Amelia, Landon Kingsley’s wife.”
“Oh!” Granny looked up, sizing Amelia up.
She had a stern, imposing face, and Amelia felt a little nervous.
But when Jonas saw Amelia, he looked like he had found a lifeline.Master, I risked my life to save her…”
“You poisoned her half to death, and you’ve still got the nerve to say that?” Granny interrupted him with a scoff, clearly unimpressed.
“I’m sorry, Master… I shouldn’t have done that,” Jonas confessed, his expression sheepish.
With the tension finally lifted, Amelia looked at Granny. “Can you cure the poison?” she asked.
“Of course I can,” Granny replied, tilting her chin up with pride, obviously unimpressed by her disciple’s abilities.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief at her words. Right now, Aiden absolutely wouldn’t die.
“Come here, Landon’s wife. Let me have a good look at you,” Granny said.
Amelia stepped forward.
The olddy studied her for a long moment, then suddenly asked, “Who are you to Catherine Hughes?”
Amelia was taken aback. “You have sharp eyes, Granny. I’m her daughter.”
“No wonder…” Granny seemed to realize something. “You’ve got the same courage and determination as your mother!”

Thank you for the <bpliment, Granny.” Amelia smiled politely, though inside she just felt lost.
She wondered if her mom was really that gutsy and bold. No one ever told her that about that before.
“Since this brat helped you out, I’ll begrudgingly let him back into the Gate,” Granny said.
Jonas was overjoyed, bowing again and again. “Thank you, Master! Thank you!”
“Get up! Bring me the rest of the poison. I’ll show you how to make the antidote,” Granny instructed
“Yes, Master.” Jonas stood up, cupped his hands respectfully to Amelia as a gesture of thanks.
Then he trotted eagerly after Granny to help make the antidote.
“Granny!” Amelia suddenly called out.
Granny stopped in her tracks. “What is it?”
“Is it possible to turn this poison into a chronic one, so he’ll have toing after me,” Amelia said.
“That’s actually a pretty clever move,” Tuff said, arching an eyebrow.
the
take the antidote regrly? That way, I won’t have to worry about the Kington Gang
‘Landon really knows how to pick ‘em. His wife’s not just gorgeous, she’s sharp too,’ he thought.
He had been racking his brain for a way to keep Aiden safe without tipping anyone off. Now, that problem was solved.
“Tuff?” Granny turned to Tuff for his thoughts.
Tuff nodded. “That’s exactly what I was thinking.”
“Alright,” she said.
With Granny’s approval, Amelia couldn’t help but feel both happy and a little envious.
“Granny is really amazing…” she said.
“Of course she is,” Tuff replied.
Tuff, ever the social one, started setting up the coffee set.
Since Amelia was pregnant, he poured her a ss of water. “So, why do you still want Aiden alive?”
“If he dies, that means we’vepletely fallen out with the Kington Gang. It’s better to keep him alive and always under our thumb,” Amelia said, shing a cunning smile.
She also had a little extra thought in the back of her mind: if Landon’s mission this time had anything to do with the Kyle family, keeping Aiden alive would give her an extra ace up her sleeve.
“Wow, you really are clever and wise. I’ll toast you with coffee instead of wine now.” Tuff chuckled.
“I’ll return the toast… with water!” Amelia replied, raising her ss.
The three of them clinked their sses and shared a toast, each lost in their own thoughts.
Granny worked fast. In just two hours, she whipped up the antidote; forty pills in total.
“That many?” Daniel stared at the pills like they were miracle medicine.
“Take one every three months, four a year. These forty will </bst you fen years. If he’s still your enemy after for yours, just eat nad
Amelia couldn’t help but be stimned. ‘Granny really doesn’t mess around, what a savage poison masterf
“If Flying Tiger Gate can’t wipe out an enemy in ten years, that’s just in embarrassing.” Granny added, shooting a pointed look ar fun
Tuff looked embarrassed, his hand automatically going to his head.
Aiden was locked up in a rundown guesthouse by Daniel, guarded by bodyguards.
He had been in a poisoned stupor for days, pletely oblivious to his surroundings.
When Aiden finally woke up and realized he was stuck in a run–down guesthouse, he instantly blew his top. “Who the hell brought me here?”
“Me,” Daniel replied, rapping his knuckles on the table.
“Seriously? You’re making me stay in a dump like this? Don’t tell me the mighty Zuckerberg family can’t even spring for a real hotel!” Aiden couldn’t stop scratching himself, his whole body itching like crazy.
He had never stayed in a ce this miserable before.
Daniel could barely hold back augh. “You kept my sister locked up for a whole month, and now you’re whining about a few days in a guesthouse?
“Don’t you know I’m a total clean freak?” Aiden yelled, scratching at his face like crazy.
“No.” Daniel just stared nky.
Aiden rolled his eyes. ‘Please. You expect me to believe that?‘
Then, he took a deep breath and asked, “Where’s Amelia?”
“She went home,” Daniel replied. “From now on, if you’ve got a problem, take it up with me.”
“Take it up with you? Do you really have the power to decide whether Landon lives or dies?” Aiden sneered.
They had the nerve to set him up, and he was going to make them regret it.
“I can’t. But I can decide whether you live or die,” Daniel said with a rxed grin. “Bet you didn’t even realize you’ve been poisoned, huh, Aiden?”
Aiden’s expression shifted in an instant. His memories stopped at that birthday party.
What should’ve been a happy celebration, but thanks to a poisoned apple from Amelia, he went down
Luckily, she only poisoned him, she didn’t actually take his life.
hard.
‘Damn it! Dad was right, chasing after women really is asking for trouble. Amelia’s soft touch almost got me killed!‘ Aiden thought.
But even so, he just couldn’t bring himself to hate her, not even a little.
All he could think was how clever, how patient, and how truly wise Amelia was.
She actually managed to poison him right in his own house, with all those servants watching, pulling it off without anyone noticing. Now that was impressive.
“The poison in your system is something totally new, nobody else out there can cure it,” Daniel said, shaking a bottle of pills in front of him. “If you want to get rid of it for good, you’ll have to take everyst one of these.”
11:06 Wed;
Aiden’s face turned dark as he made a grab for Daniel. “Hand them over!”
The bodyguards jumped in right away, blocking his way.
Aiden was left gasping for air, clearly too weak to fight back.
“One pill every three months, for ten years straight. From now on, I’ll make sure you get your antidote on schedule, as long as you behave and stay out of trouble,” Daniel said.
