Chapter 118
“Mrs. Kingsley, how could you take medicine casually?” Lindsey Nevin, the best gynecologist in Norava, was a kind olddy. She looked at Amelia in
shock.
“I didn’t take any medicine,” Amelia said in surprise. “I haven’t even taken medicine for a cold in the past month.”
“How could this happen?” Lindsey frowned. “Let me check again.”
Amelia looked at Lindsey nervously.
Wesley was Lindsey’s student, and he was sure that Lindsey would not make a mistake in diagnosis. Wesley asked, “Think again, Amelia. Have you taken any medicine or eaten anything special recently?”
“No. I go back and forth between thepany and home every day and only eat in thepany cafeteria or at home.” Amelia became nervous because of Wesley’s reaction.
She thought, ‘Is there something wrong with the food in the canteen? But Landon had dinner with me every day, and he’s fine!
“Mrs. Kingsley, I suggest you check your recent diet,” Lindsey said solemnly. She turned to look at Wesley and said, “Mrs. Kingsley has taken a poison that only harms women. It had a severe influence on women’s health.”
“Oh my,” Wesley cried out in shock.
Amelia’s heart was pounding. She was uneasy and confused. “Can it be cured, Dr. Nevin?”
“I’m not sure.” Lindsey looked at Amelia with pity and thought, ‘Poor girl. She is so young, but her fertility has been badly affected.”
In a panic, Amelia asked in a trembling voice, “Dr. Nevin, how long can I still live? Please tell me the truth.” After a pause, she added, “Don’t worry, I can bear it.”
Amelia thought, ‘I’ve been dead once. I’m lucky enough to live in this life. But I’m unwilling to die like this. I vowed to live well, but in the end, I was drugged.‘
“Mrs. Kingsley, it’s not that serious,” Lindsey rxed her frown and smiled tofort Amelia. “The medicine won’t harm your life, but it will make you feel terrible in your period.”
“That’s all?” Amelia was surprised and delighted.
“Um,” Lindsey smiled and nodded. “You have mild anemia, and such a heavy menstrual flow will aggravate the anemia. I will prescribe some blood- replenishing medicine for you. Try to stay in bed and rest during your period.”
“Thank you, Dr. Nevin.” Amelia breathed a sigh of relief. Replenishing blood and resting were easy to do. She was not short of mon and she didn’t have to go to work every day.
Amelia thought, ‘I’ll go home and stay in bed, just taking this opportunity to rest for a few days.‘
“Go get the medicine. Remember to drink hot water and try not to eat cold food.” Lindsey wrote a prescription.
Wesley nced at it. They were just some ordinary/medicine for enriching blood and regting menstruation. He said to Amelia, “Amelia, I’m afraid I can’t apany you. I still have something to discuss with my teacher.”
“Okay, I have to go.” The menstrual flow wasrge, and Amelia would break out in a sweat when she moved. After getting the medicine, she thought she was fine and asked Brooke to drive her back home to rest.
After discussing it with Lindsey, Wesley hurried to Kingsley Group….
Landon finished the important meeting and returned to the office to see Amelia, but he saw Wesley. “Why are you here?” Landon asked Wesley and
looked around curiously to look for Amelia.
“Amelia is going home to rest. Landon, I have something important to tell you.” Wesley looked solemn.
With worry creeping in, Landon said, “Go ahead.”
Wesley said, “Someone drugged Amelia. The medicine hurt her body. In the future, she will have arge menstrual flow during her period, and it will be difficult for her to get pregnant.”
Landon was dumbfounded, and his angr face turned cold in an instant. “Who did it?”
Wesley shook his head. “I don’t know. I didn’t tell Amelia the truth to avoid her from being too stressful. She thought she could recover after taking medicine for a few months.”
Landon was fuming, and his chest heaved as he breathed heavily. The terrifying look in Landon’s cold eyes made Wesley seem to see the man who had fought hard on the ind.
Wesley broke out in cold sweats and hurried tofort Landon, “Calm down, Landon. We can’t do anything illégal. Amelia’s current situation is temporary.”
“Is there any cure?” Landon asked.
Wesley shook his head and sighed, “At present, no treatment is avable. But in the future, maybe it can be cured. Times are advancing, and medicine is also improving.”
Landon gripped the wheelchair armrest, gritted his teeth in a rage, and yelled, “Aaron.”
“Mr. Kingsley.” Aaron put down his work and rushed into the office.
Landon said coldly, “Figure out who drugged Amelia within three days.”
Aaron was puzzled, not knowing what was going on.
“Let me exin it to you,” Wesley pulled Aaron aside and told him what happened.
Aaron replied in anger, “I will definitely find the person and get the antidote, Mr. Kingsley.”
“Landon, you… Will you have prejudice against Amelia because of this?” Wesley asked cautiously.
Wealthy families valued offspring the most. Donna had nned to let Henry rece Landon and take charge of Kingsley Group after Landon became a vegetable. After Landon got married and woke up, everything seemed to be hopeful again. But as a result, Amelia was drugged, and her fertility was
affected.
“Is giving birth to children the purpose of a marriage?” Landon asked with a sullen face.
Wesley quickly shook his head. “Of course not, but-”
“Don’t tell Amelia about this for now. I’ll deal with it,” Landon thought for a while and then reminded Wesley. “Keep this a secret.”
“Okay.” Wesley nodded.
Landon sighed, “Amelia didn’t disdain me when I was a vegetable.”
“Yeah, Amelia is a good girl.” Wesley scratched his head embarrassedly. “At the very beginning, I had a bone to pick with her. I thought she–”
“Cut the crap. I know what you’re thinking.” Landon rolled his eyes at Wesley,
Wesley said embarrassedly, “Later, I changed my mind. Today, Amelia went to the hospital, and I met her and apanied her to see the doctor.”

“Well, I know. When you get married, I’ll give you a big gift.” Landon hurriedly finished his work and went home. Pre thought, Amy merge fantina in I have to go home and apany her.‘
The wheelchair was driven so fast that the bodyguard had to jog to keep up. Just as Landon got to the car. ine stopped him and asked. Landon you’re off duty?”
