Chapter 110
“I’m not happy.” ine fumed, her eyes reddening. She refused to wear the dress Amelia bought. What she wanted was a gift from Landon.
“Ms. Atkinson, that’s enough.” Landon’s handsome face darkened.
The guests nearby couldn’t help but feel a chill for ine. They wondered if ine would be thrown out. Thest woman who dared to cause a scene with Landon was tossed out like trash.
ine was scared of Landon, but she felt wronged. Unable to hold back, she burst into tears. “You’re all bullying me.”
“Get out.” Landon’s cold tone left no room for argument.
“You…” ine stamped her feet, covering her face, and ran out of Kingsley Manor.
While the guests sympathized with ine, they couldn’t help but admire Landon for how he spoiled his wife. They knew better than to cross Amelia from now on. Even if anyone had opinions, they kept them to themselves.
The celebration returned to its peaceful mood.
Amelia shook her head, amused. She thought, ‘It’s always the same with ine. Why does she keep doing this?‘
But then, Amelia cast a cautious nce at Landon. As expected, Landon was waiting for praise. He thought, ‘Shouldn’t Ameliapliment me now?‘
Amelia was exasperated. She rubbed her forehead. “You’re always upsetting ine. Aren’t you worried the Atkinson family will make things difficult for you in business?”
“If they do, then I just won’t do business with them.” Landon shrugged, clearly displeased. He thought, ‘I stand up for you, and you lecture me?”
Amelia sighed, bending down to whisper in Landon’s ear. “Thank you for supporting me just now.”
“No problem.” Landon’s face lit up as if getting apliment from Amelia was a huge achievement.
Amelia could only shake her head. She thought, ‘Landon’s cold CEO image is gone.’
“Landon, it’s time to toast Grandma,” Cynthia called.
At the Kingsley family’s birthday party, there was a tradition for the younger generation to bow and offer a toast to Donna.
Amelia gently pushed Landon toward Donna.
Henry said sarcastically, “Landon can’t sit. He has to stand.”
“Henry, you are just making things difficult for Landon,” Gloria snapped.
“Isn’t Landon awake now? His legs can’t move, but he can still strike a pose,” Henry replied.
Amelia thought, ‘Everyone is watching, and he wants to treat Landon like some sort of puppet, twisting him into a pose? It’s humiliating. Absolutely not.‘
“No way.” Amelia stepped forward, arms wide, as if protecting a fragile little chick. “Landon’s body hasn’t fully healed. Dr. Harrington suggested he go to the hospital today for a check–up. But Landon insisted oning to the birthday celebration because he said Grandma and Grandpa wanted him here.
“If I had known he would be put in such an awkward spot, I never would have let hime.”
Amelia’s tone was firm, and the lie she casually spun moved Donna. Thinking of herte husband, who had always adored Landon, Donna’s expressic softened. “Landon is dedicated enough. He doesn’t need to stand.”
“Understood.” Donna had made her final decision, and Henry awkwardly led everyone bowing.
Landon sat in his wheelchair, watching Amelia’s tense face. His heart softened. He thought, ‘Others are always scheming to corner me, but you to there, protecting me. Thank you, Honey.”
Amelia stayed on edge, her nerves tense, especially in front of Henry and his family. Her nose tingled when she heard Landon’s thoughts, and a wave of sympathy flooded her. Amelia desperately wanted to hug him. She thought, ‘Ugh, I don’t want this power. Hearing his every thought makes it hard to control my feelings.‘
After the ceremony, Amelia received a gift from Donna.
Donna said earnestly, “Now that you’re Landon’s wife, I hope you’ll have a baby soon.”
“Okay…” Amelia’s face flushed with embarrassment, but she still responded cheerfully. She couldn’t let Henry and the others see her falter for Landon’s
sake.
“Good. Landon just woke up, so you do not need to stay here. You can go home now,” Donna said.
Amelia was more than happy to oblige. She epted the gift and quickly wheeled Landon out of Kingsley Manor without a second thought.
Landon’s eyes flickered, his hesitation clear. He thought, ‘Leaving now? My n hasn’t even started.‘
But in the end, Landon said nothing and allowed Amelia to push him out of Kingsley Manor at full speed. He thought, ‘She’s worried, scared–I can feel it. As long as she’s happy, that’s all that matters. Taking care of Henry can wait. There will be plenty of chancester.‘
On the way home, Amelia finally rxed, slumping in her seat with a sigh. “Finally, it’s over.”
“You were too tense.” Landon couldn’t help butugh lightly. “I’m not as fragile as you think.”
“Right, you’re strong. So please, get better soon,” Amelia replied dismissively. She thought, ‘Patrick is ruthless and cold–blooded. If things reallye to a fight, how can a half–disabled Landon stand a chance?‘
“Honey, you did great today.” Landon squeezed Amelia’s hand, gently rubbing it. He had made up his mind. He was going to keep Amelia by his side forever.
“It’s more tiring than fighting a war,” Amelia sighed, then added, “Why are our families so messed up?”
“That’s why we are destined to be together,” Landon said.
“Ugh, so cheesy.” Amelia rolled her eyes and pulled her hand free. “Landon, we met a long time ago. Do you
remember?”
“I do,” Landon replied.
“Wait, really?” Amelia was stunned. “You…you really remember?”
“At the Lloyd family’s party. You were looking for Zachary and bumped into me.” Landon recalled the moment, a sympathetic look crossing his face as he watched Amelia. “You asked me if I had seen Zachary. I didn’t answer. The truth is, Zachary had gone off with Sandra.”
Landon paused, studying Amelia’s face, waiting for her reaction. He wondered if she still cared so much about Zachary after all this time.
“I’ve known all along,” Amelia huffed in disdain.
Landonughed in relief. “When did you find out?”
“I was lying on the operating table, and I saw Sandra disguised as a nurse. Then I had a horrible nightmare…” Amelia shivered. The tragic memories of her life before her time travel lingered like an unshakable shadow.
Every time Amelia remembered those few minutes before the surgery, a chill ran down her spine. Fortunately, she had traveled back in time before happened.
“Don’t worry, I’m here for you from now on.” Landon gently patted Amelia’s head, pulling her into his embrace.

Amelia was still lost in her thoughts, her body tilting with Landon’s movement. The wheelchair armrest pressed against her side, snapping her out of her
daze.
Amelia realized Landon was about to hug her and quickly pped his hand away, sitting up straight. “Sit up properly.”
Landon was speechless. He thought, ‘Damn this wheelchair armrest, it’s too high. It’s blocking me from hugging Amelia.
At Kingsley Manor, Henry watched helplessly as Landon left unscathed, his frustration spilling over as he vented to Patrick. “You said he wouldn’t make out today, but you didn’t even get a chance to make a move.”
“It was Grandma who messed up my n.” Patrick raised his left hand, heavily bandaged in white
his gauze,
eyes
darkened.
Henry’s face turned grim. He warned, “Don’t even think about going after your grandmother.”
