Third Person’s POV
Night fell over the capital like a heavy sheet of ck velvet, and within the ckthorn territory, the magical crystalmps flickered to life one by one.

Adide took the silver–ted dagger Prune handed her, gripped Beata’s hand, and stepped out into the biting wind.
Lance and Paisley followed close behind.
Craig and Prune had nned to join them, but Klein stopped them.
“Let her mate and her best friend handle this,” he said simply.
“You two only need to step in if she actually falls.”
As he spoke, Klein felt a sense of pride. Havinge to the capital and watched this pair navigate the shark–infested waters of royal politics and rival packs with suchposure, he felt truly satisfied.
Inside the Royal Marshal’s office, Lucas stood in the blood–scented courtyard, waiting.
The ckthorns wereing tonight to collect the two prisoners, and a transfer of such high- value targets required his personal supervision.
What made the hair on the back of his neck stand up was something else–Ulrik had seemingly lost his mind.
Lycan King’s judgment had been delivered and the dungeon doors were wide open, yet the man was huddled in his cell, refusing to move, insisting he wouldn’t leave until daybreak.
Sensing Lance and Adide’s scents from a distance, Lucas ordered the guards to drag the two spies up from the water cells and hurried to the gate.
“Alpha Lance, Gamma Adide. It’s freezing tonight; I thought you might wait until morning to handle the execution.”
Adide, Paisley, and Avery all pressed their right hands to their left chests, offering a crisp, standard military salute.
Since Lucas had used her official title, “Gamma Adide,” she wasn’t about to ck on protocol in front of the high official in charge of the nation’s prisons.

“Please, follow me to the briefing room. The prisoners are being brought up as we speak.”
Adide gripped Beata’s hand tightly as they followed Lucas.
The two spies were soon dragged in, their clothes in tatters, their bodies covered in wounds, and their blood dried into dark, crusty scabs.
Beata’s eyes turned red instantly. Her wolf bristled, dropping into an aggressive stance.

“Is a Northern wolf’s life worth more than ours? By what right do you get to butcher our civilians?”
The other spat out a mouthful of blood and broken teeth, snarling through the gore.
“I swore to the Moon Goddess I’d fight you mongrels to the death!”
