Thorne roared, unleashing the full weight of his high–tier aura like a mountain crashing down on her.

“Lycan Erasmus ordered us to take you in! Don’t force my hand!”

Velda just tilted her head, a ghost of a smirk ying on her lips. “Where’s Ulrik?”

She knew he had his job back. If he was back in the Pce, he would’ve known the second Lycan Erasmus issued the arrest warrant.

But that coward hadn’te to save her, nor had he even bothered to send a secret warning.

Thorne didn’t give her an answer. Instead, he gave her a sharp warning.

“Don’t resist. The Bloodmoon territory ispletely surrounded. Not even a fly is getting out of here. You’re just fighting for nothing.”

“Heh.” Velda’sugh was cold and jagged.

Suddenly, she flicked her wrist and pressed the de against her own throat.

“Get Ulrik here to see me!”

Watching from a safe distance, Gloria was terrified that Velda would drag the whole pack down with her. She shrieked, “Velda! Are you insane? If you want to die, don’t do it at the packhouse! Don’t ruin our reputation even more!

“I said, get Ulrik! I have something to ask him to his face!” Velda yelled back.

“Dying now is better than being tortured by the Royal Enforcers. If you don’t get him here, I’ll take all my secrets to the Moon Goddess right now!”

Thorne stared at the blood trickling down Velda’s neck. The sweet, metallic scent made his wolf restless, but he had to stay focused.

This crazy bitch couldn’t die yet–at least, not on his watch.

To settle the score with the Western Tribe, Velda had to stand trial.

She was a massive political pawn; her blood needed to be spilled at a negotiating table, not

    on her front poch

“Velda, killing yourself is rasy, ind have your dinler ve ay tr te we

“When have they ever cared about me? Because a few rumors, they picked up at whe capital, dumping me like a piece of rotting meat If they don’t care on me, why should I

de care if they live or die?”

    Gloria was livid

“Are you insane? If you don’t want to live, fine, but don’t drag the Ploodmoons down with your”

“The Bloodmoons? I hope you all die with me. We can go see the Moon Goddess together. It’ll be a party”

“You’re evil!” Gloria’s face turned gray with rage

“Shut up!” Velda roared, “I’m saying it onest times get Ulrik here! NOW!”

Thorne went silent for a beat before finally giving in. “Go get Ulrik”

But Thorne’s expression stayed grim. Something felt off.

Why did Velda want to see Ulrik at a time like this?

Their rtionship was dead in the water. If she had something to say, why wait until the enforcers were at the door?

Thorne backed away a few steps, out of Velda’s sight, and whispered to one of his men. “Find Ampelio. Tell him to send two of his best fighters immediately. Move!”

    He had a point.

Back in the day, Ulrik had practically begged Lycan Erasmus for permission to mate with Velda and even rejected Adide.

    That stunt had shocked everyone.

Even if they seemed broken up now, who’s to say they weren’t in on a n to stage a

    kidnapping so she could escape?

If Ulrik got involved, things would get messy.

He was currently high in Lycan Erasmus‘ favor. If the Enforcement Bureau had to go toe–to- toe with him, Thorne wasn’t sure he’d win.

When Ampelio got the report, he knew it was a crisis. He immediately hit Adide up via mind–link.

“Gamma Adide, things are looking bad. If Velda takes Ulrik hostage, we can’t guarantee his safety. You should probably head over there yourself.”

Adide thought about it for a second.

“Take two high–level guards and go first. Make a scene. Make sure Velda sees you so she knows Thorne is calling for backup.”

“You’re noting?” Ampelio, always the impatient one, fired back.

“How is that going to work? If you don’t go, at least send Irene! If those two are working together, we’re screwed. Aside from you and Irene, who else is strong enough to take them down at close range?”

    “Shut up!”

Adide cut him off, her sharp aura traveling through the link.

“Do what I said. You’re the distraction. Keep things steady while I stay in the shadows and wait for an opening. A hunter only strikes when the prey lets its guard down.”

    “Got it! On it now!”

Meanwhile, at the Pce, Ulrik got the message from Thorne. A wave of dread hit him. He didn’t even stop to think–he just bolted toward the Bloodmoon territory.

    He knew Velda too well.

She was a walking contradiction: she had the massive ego of an Alpha but was deathly afraid of actually dying.

She was like a cornered snake–even if there was no way out, she’d thrash around just to cause more damage before the end.

She wasn’t going down without a fight.
