Adideid out her n. “The Independent She–Wolf Center is for any she–wolf whose mating bond has been dissolved, who has been abandoned by her mate, or who has no natal pack to go back to.”
“They can take on stable work there–doingmissioned embroidery for pack businesses, altering clothes, sewing small batches of garments; folding napkins and packaging gift boxes for coffee shops and restaurants; or handling the packaging, beling, and shipping for the center’s online shop.”
“If they can’t do that, they can look after the cub ssroom, prepare meals, clean the rune areas, or help manage the supply warehouse. The whole point is to give them jobs where they earn a real wage and can stand on their own two feet.”
She paused, then added, “And if they have no skills? That’s fine. We’ll arrange dedicated she- wolves to teach them—not just crafts and basic bookkeeping, but practical skills like how to rent an apartment and open bank ounts in the city. Even for those with old injuries or disabilities, we’ll find suitable positions for them. We will not allow any she–wolf who has been thrown out by the world to be thrown out a second time.”
Her tone softened slightly. “The initial startup funds for the center will be covered by Paisley and me.”
Silence settled over the study. The firelight from the hearth flickered on the faces of the wolves.
Then, everyone nodded. Even someone as blunt as Paisley understood clearly: moving forward with this would directly challenge the established power structure and the interests of many male wolves.
When she–wolves have their own assets and a way to survive without relying on their mates or birth packs, they won’t have to feel so helpless around their mates.
Everyone knew this: despite the inevitable difficulties, this project was absolutely necessary.
If a She–Wolf Center had existed before, Tamara wouldn’t have been pushed to suicide out of fear of losing her bond, her home, and her food.
Therefore, they needed to do it, and do it fast.
“I’ve already chosen the location for the center,” Adide continued. “It’s at No. 18 Marigold

Street. It used to be a small dyeing workshop, but it was converted into a vacant warehouse.”
“I checked the site personally. It’s slightly off the main street, which makes it safer and quieter for these she–wolves. The size is right. The upper floor can be turned into dorms, and the ground floor divided into work areas. With just a few minor renovations, we can open it quickly, and the defensive runes will be easy to set up.”
Lance’s expression remained gentle, but he voiced a concern: “Finding a good location isn’t the hardest part. I can handle the runes, the ounts, and the staffing. But I worry that the number of she–wolves brave enough to take that first step and walk through the door will be very small at first.”
Adide nodded. “I know this won’t show results right away. But as long as a ce like this exists, those she–wolves who are backed against a wall will know they have another way out, and an address where they can knock for help.”
Paisley propped her chin in her hand, her tone unusually serious. “Pushing this forward is going to stir up a lot of trouble. Whether it’s gossip on the streets or criticism in the council halls, we’re going to be used of meddling. That’s unavoidable.”
The highly experienced Craig offered a historical perspective: “Actually, this isn’t a new concept. Simr organizations have been set up in border cities of other kingdoms specifically to house she–wolves abandoned by their mates.”
Caldwell rxed his shoulders, his expression visibly easing. “Since there are precedents, this isn’t apletely novel idea. We can trace the steps they took, and we won’t be fumbling around trying to figure out the first move.”
Lance offered, “How about this: I’ll take the lead on this project first. I’ll manage all the initial procedures,nd deed negotiations, construction, and the center’s overall n. Once everything is prepared, I’ll hand the day–to–day operations over to you and Paisley.”
Craig smiled, his eyes sharp. “Exactly. Most of the strong opposition wille from the male wolves. Since we can’t convince them with reason, we’ll use authority to shut them down. No matter what obstacle we run into, there’s always a way to break through it.”
Adide looked at Lance, a warm light flickering in her eyes. She felt that the greatest stroke of luck in her life, in this world of rigid hierarchy andplicated pack politics, was meeting a mate who would stand behind her without question when she chose to help other she–wolves.
Caldwell suggested one more political angle, “Actually, we could report this to Lycan Erasmus. If Alpha Lance takes the lead, he’d likely be happy to approve it.”
“You know that in the eyes of royal officials, this will be seen as absurd, even dangerous. He might even find it amusing to watch everyone criticize Alpha Lance–for him, Alpha Lance

would be diverting some of the public’s scrutiny away.”

Lance let out a slow, amused smile, clearly anticipating the image of the stuffy werewolf councilors having a meltdown in the hall. “Very well. Then I’ll be the one who courts the controversy.”
Action followed immediately. The next time he attended the council meeting at the Royal Pce, Lance stood in the main hall, facing the assembled Alphas and high–ranking wolves, and formally proposed the establishment of the Independent She–Wolf Center.
Tamara’s suicide had be widely known, and Simon had been relieved of his duties because of it. Using this incident as a perfect political catalyst for the center was ideal— outwardly, they could im it was “closing the barn door after the horse has bolted,” but inwardly, it was truly lighting a path to survival for she–wolves who had once been abandoned.
