Third Person’s POV

The staff at Digby Medical Center, being familiar with Tamara, described her state the day before.

He recalled, “She looked like she’d rushed over right after pawning something; she waspletely distraught. She was clutching a pawn ticket the whole time. I only caught a glimpse, but it was from Golden Assets Pawnshop. She came in demanding to buy seven or eight doses of prenatal and postpartum supplements. I told her that two doses would be more than enough–one for use duringbor and one for recovery; she didn’t need any extra after that.”

Adide asked, “You’re sure she had been crying, correct?”

The staff member nodded. “Absolutely certain. Her tears hadn’t even dried when she walked in.”

“Got it. Thanks.” Adide didn’t press for more details and took Paisley straight to Golden Assets Pawnshop.

Since she was wearing her official Gamma uniform, the clerk didn’t dare be slow.

When she asked about the items Tamara had pawned yesterday, the clerk brought them out.

Adide nced at them–it was the jewelry set she had given Tamara years ago.

The clerk added, “She said she’d be back to redeem them; she wasn’t selling them for good.”

This meant that when Tamara chose to pawn the items, she still held onto a thread of hope–she believed she would be able to buy the jewelry backter.

But she went home only to be scolded, pped, and threatened with the rejection of her bond, ultimately leading to her running away.

Tamara was afraid of the dark and too sensitive. If she left alone in the middle of the night, it meant she had suffered a severe emotional shock and was likely considering suicide.

The question remained: Where did she go?

The capital is massive. With no official police report, they couldn’t use the Capital Guard or Royal Patrol for a full–scale search.

Adide sent people to check Tamara’s old family homes to see if she had returned there, but the reports quickly came back: the locks were rusty, clearly showing the ces had been vacant for ages, and there were no signs of her. The city gate logs also showed no women leaving the city alone that morning.

This confirmed Tamara was still somewhere in the capital.

Logically, she couldn’t have walked very far.

If she was just hiding in a street or public ce, they should have found her.

    004

Yet, Ellen’s teams and the pce detail had searched all over the city, even checking small inns dodging houses, but found nothing.

The Bloodmoon Pack also confirmed she hadn’t returned.

The sun began to set, and the wind turned colder. The temperature would drop even more once night fell.

Adide didn’t hesitate, immediately sending out more search teams. Paisley also went out to look.

After a moment of consideration, Adide sent word for Ulrik toe to the Capital Guard headquarters.

Ulrik didn’t know what was going on, only that Adide had summoned him. He felt nervous, but also vaguely hopeful.

As soon as he arrived, Adide skipped the greetings and got right to the point: “Tamara is missing. Do you know that?”

Ulrik looked stunned. “Missing? What do you mean?”

He had left home for a meeting at the pce that morning and hadn’t known Tamara was gone.

Plus, with all the constant fighting at home, he had nned to stayte at the pce and return to the packter that night.

Adide said, “Exactly what it sounds like–she’s gone. A guard from the Frostfang Pack saw her sitting

    off. She still hasn’t

near the border this morning. When the guard approached, she stood up and walk?

    returned to the Bloodmoon Pack.”

Ulrik frowned. “Why is this such a big deal? Tamara is an adult. She can go out by herself.”

He shrugged. “It’s only just getting dark. She’lle home eventually. I don’t understand why you’re so worked up, Gamma Adide.”

Adide looked at him icily. “That shows how little you know your pack members you’re supposed to protect. Is it normal for Tamara to stay out alone untilte at night and note home?”

    ㄓ

    Ulrik hesitated. “I… I wouldn’t know. I don’t track her daily routine.”

Adide’s voice was calm but held clear authority. “Take your people from the Bloodmoon Pack and go look for her now. She has no family in the capital and nowhere else to go for help.”

Ulrik was still skeptical. “But this is really unnecessary. She leaves during the day, she’lle home at night. Besides, with Rosemary’s illness, Tamara stays in her room every night. Why would she leave? Where would she go?”

Adide’s expression darkened. “I told you to search. Take your people and search now.”

Faced with the Gamma’s aura, Ulrik reflexively answered, “Yes, ma’am.”

He paused briefly, looking at Adide. “Though I really don’t think it’s needed… I still appreciate that you care about the people of the Bloodmoon Pack.”

Adide’s brow furrowed. “I’m not worried about the Bloodmoon Pack. I’m worried she showed us the Frostfang Pack border this morning–that was a clear call for help to me. I’m afraid she’s in serio trouble.”

    Ulrik remained unconvinced. “That’s impossible.”

    Just then-

    “Gamma Adide! Gamma Adide-!”

There was a rush of urgent footsteps outside. Ellen burst in, his expression tense:

“We found her! But you need to go there yourself!”

Adide’s eyes showed a brief sh of relief. “Found her? Where is she now?” Conclusion
