?Chapter 1725:
Could she trust him? She honestly didn’t know. Every time they had crossed paths before, he had struck her as nothing more than a carefree yboy — charming, yes, but frivolous. And yet, for quite some time now, she genuinely hadn’t seen any other women around him.
Romance didn’t frighten her. Diving headfirst into something without thinking — that terrified her.
She softened her voice. “I need time to think. I can’t give you an answer right now.”
Steven’s eyes sparked to life. He hadn’t received a definite answer, but at least she hadn’t mmed the door in his face.

He smiled at her, his gaze brimming with quiet tenderness. “Time is the one thing I have plenty of. I can wait as long as you need.” He had already waited this long. A little while longer wouldn’t kill him.
Heat crept into Josie’s cheeks. She turned and hurried toward the door, not daring to meet those intense eyes again.
After she left, Steven remained where he stood, a smile of pure delight spreading across his face. Perhaps soon he would find himself in a rtionship too, just like William and Ste. The mere thought filled him with anticipation.
Across the city, Ste sat alone on the balcony of Sharon’s home as dusk settled over the neighborhood.
By the time Josie returned from Steven’s ce, a light rain had begun to fall, dampening her shoulders as she walked inside. She pushed the door open and clutched her bag tightly, her mind still reying everything Steven had told her.
Sharon and Ste were sitting together on the sofa. When they saw her, Sharon asked, “You’re back. Have you eaten yet?”
Josie shook her head. “Haven’t had the chance.”
Sharon rose and moved toward the kitchen. “Let me make you some noodles.”
Ste stayed in the living room. Josie nced her way before following Sharon into the kitchen. “I’ll help.”
Once they were alone, Sharon dropped her voice. “What did Steven tell you?” She had been worrying herself sick the entire time.
Josie opened her mouth, then hesitated, unsure where to even begin. She drew a slow breath and ryed Steven’s exnation almost word for word.
Sharon’s expression darkened with each sentence, her brows drawing together tightly. “Did William actually sleep with Alisha?” she eximed.
Josie shot her a sharp warning look, gesturing for her to keep her voice down. “It appears that way for now. But Steven insists William wouldn’t do something like this, and he’s looking into it.”
Sharon barely managed to contain her anger. “So did he sleep with her or didn’t he?”
She didn’t care about the surrounding details. Whether William had been framed or not was beside the point to her. Her only priority was making sure Ste didn’t get hurt.
Josie sighed and repeated herself. “It seems that way for now.”
Sharon swore under her breath and spun toward the door. “I’m telling Ste. Right now.”
