Chapter 309: Chapter 309

~Samantha~
"And as their father, my opinion andmands doesn’t count." His voice was t. "Alright then, they can stay with us but when bad things happen, don’t say I didn’t warn you three."
"Thank you, Dad." Devon wiped his face. "We promise we’ll fight harder thanst time."
"Not when you are still a baby." Dominic’s Alpha tone came out. "I’m only letting you both stay for the sake of your mother but you won’t do anything mischievous or too brave.
“Yes, dad." Both twins nodded.
"Good." Dominic turned to Killian. "You haven’t said anything. I am surprised."
"I chose to mind my business since it was a family matter but if you want to hear my opinion then..."
"Keep it to yourself."
"Why?"
"Because you are definitely going to say something that will make me look like the bad guy and make the kids wish you were their father instead." Dominic deadpanned.
"Now you are just assuming wrongly."
"Gaslight someone else and get up on your feet, let’s move." Dominic shut him up. "L, scout ahead. Make sure we’re not walking into another ambush. Sam, stay with the twins. I’ll handle Killian in case rhe curse returns."
"I healed himst time so it’s better I be with him."
"No." The swift response told me everything. "I know this is another scheme for both of you to get closer."
"Excuse you? How can you use me of such when we have bigger matters lying around?!" I confronted him, my tone filled with irritation. "You are never going to bury your jealousy, are you? Well, you need to or else, I’ll get fed up soon."
“And what? Leave me then elope with him? Then, I’ll be a single father which I doubt because you’ll surely take the kids away.” He scoffed.
I couldn’t believe he was acting jealous and insensitive, right here and now. Like couldn’t he schedule it for some other time?
“Who said anything about leaving you? Why do you always like jumping into unnecessary conclusions?” I fought back, already fuming.
“You know all of these problems would go away if you just listened to your husband.” Killian chimed in.
Dominic looked awestruck. "What? Did you just support me?"
"Send the twins back with Gamma. He’s trained. Loyal. Can protect them." Killian shifted slightly. Winced. "I’ll stay here with you two. Help with whateveres next."
"The fact that you already with my idea already means you have something nned when they will be away from us so no." Dominic gged it down.
"Why not? What evil ns could I possibly have for kids that could pass as my own children?"
"Not when we have gotten several warnings that the enemies is someone who we trust. Don’t think you are out of my suspect list."
Killian shot back. “You don’t get to call me an enemy after everything I’ve done for you.”
“I didn’t call you an enemy,” Dominic snapped. “I said you’re on my suspect list. And if the shoe fits, fucking wear it.”
“Say it with your chest then,” Killian barked. “Stop dancing around it. You think I’m a traitor? You think I’m some snake waiting to stab you in the back?”
Dominic stepped forward until they were almost nose to nose. “Yes, because the enemy of your enemy is your friend. So exin how you being here makes any sense.”
Killian let out a harsh breath. “Can you listen to what you’re saying? You sound like a freaking airhead. I don’t trust you either but you don’t see me whining about it every single minute.”
“Watch your tongue or it will be on the floor.” Dominic threatened.
“Yeah, that’s what you love doing. Threaten, bully and sometimes, kill but somehow, I’m the problem here.”
“I don’t repeat warnings, Killian.”
“Sam, you better advise him.” He then turned to me, his eyes looking like he was ready to do something we would all regret.
Devon grabbed his sister’s hand. “Mom, please tell them to stop.”
“Stay back,” I whispered, but I couldn’t even take my own advice.
“You think I want your life?” Killian continued. “You think I want your mate? Your kids? Your damn title? I don’t give a shit about your crown.”
“Then why are you still here?” Dominic roared. “Why are you always around my family?”
“Because I care!” Killian shouted back. “Because when your enemiese for you, they don’t juste for you. Theye for all of us!”
“Bullshit,” Dominic spat. “You care a little too much.”
Killian shoved him back despite the pain in his body. “At least I care openly. You hide behind this Alpha crap like it excuses your shitty behavior.”
Dominic’s fist flew.
It stopped an inch from Killian’s face.
The ground trembled from the force he held back.
“Don’t test me,” Dominic warned. “I’ve killed for less.”
“There it is,” Killian snapped. “That’s the Dominic everyone’s scared of. The one who solves everything with violence. And you’re calling me the enemy?”
Killian shouted. “What the fuck is wrong with you?”
“What’s wrong with me?” Dominic stepped closer again. “What’s wrong with you? Volunteering to stay behind with my mate while my kids are gone? Acting like some recement father while I’m still alive?”
“You no longer even hide your ns of wanting to kill me!”
“That’s a huge usation, man. I never tried to rece you! I mean, my own life is great and with how you argue with your mate all the time, trust me I don’t want that.” Killian yelled. “But if your kids respect me, that’s because I show up without turning everything into blood bath.”
“If you keep acting this way, they would see their father as a monster and turn to me. Grow up, man. You already have the balls for it.” Killian added, infuriating him.
“You’ve said a lot of things that would make me end you and your pack but for the sake of my mate, I choose to overlook it,” Dominic warned. “Don’t take it for granted.”
Killian pushed himself up, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth.
“Stop hiding behind her shadow and face me man to man,” he taunted. “You’re an Alpha, not a chicken but with your recent behavior, I doubt it.”
“Stop it!” I finally screamed.
Neither of them listened.
“You should be grateful for Sam and the kids.” Killian shouted at Dominic. “We all knew how dark your life was when she wasn’t in it. She could easily leave you again but she’s considerate yet every time, you use her of having an illicit affair with me when you should be enjoying your time as a family.”
“You im to have more than me but you are still insecure and envious.”
“That’s enough! It’s embarrassing to say that the twins are more mature then both of you.” I roared.
Someone had to put an end to this madness and they were quick to respect themselves after myst statement.
