    Emily Sterling heard the sounds of things being smashed inside the room and quickly got up, running to the door of Chloe Simpson’s room.


    She didn’t speak but instead pressed her ear to the door, listening to themotion inside.


    Soon, she heard a heavy thud, as if something fell to the ground.


    "Chloe!"


    Emily’s heart tightened, and she hurried to the living room to find the key and unlock Chloe’s room door.


    Sure enough, as soon as she opened the door, she saw Chloe had cut the major artery in her wrist and was lying on the ground.


    "Chloe!"


    Emily dared not hesitate for a moment and pulled out her phone to dial 911 directly.


    An hourter, Chloe’s wound was already treated, and Emily stayed by Chloe’s side.


    She was filled with regret and self-me, never thinking Chloe would do such a thing.


    At 8 p.m., Chloe woke up.


    She smelled disinfectant and knew she was in the hospital.


    As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Emily.


    "Chloe, I’ve worked so hard to raise you, and after all these years, this is how you repay me?"


    Seeing Chloe wake up, Emily wanted to ask her if she felt ufortable, but remembering the incident with Chloe’s wrist, her expression immediately changed.

    Chloe quickly apologized.

    "The reason he’s been entangled with me before and done those extreme things was because he felt I abandoned our promise and got together with Lucas Hughes. And only after I injured my head a few days ago and had surgery did I remember this."


    "Mom, in this situation, how could I leave him alone? He’s now in ICU unconscious, and the person behind the attack on him hasn’t been identified yet. I have to stay by his side!"
