Chapter 1799

    Chapter 1799:

Alban looked utterly worn down. “I’m begging you, let me have this. I finally get the chance to take them out — don’t sabotage it for me. If they turn us down next time, we may never get another opportunity.”

He swept his gaze around the room, his eyes sharp. “The Jones estate is massive. If they stay indoors, we wouldn’t spot them even with a telescope. And don’t think you can just wander in. Christina was very clear — if Gillian isn’t willing, it doesn’t matter how close our families are, we won’t be weed.”

His meaning was unmistakable. Even though the Jones and Martel families had made peace, if Gillian didn’t want to see them, Christina would shut the doorpletely.

When silence settled over the room, Alban continued. “Think this through. If Gillian gets angry and leaves with Adide for Apresh alongside Christina, seeing them again will be even more difficult.”

After a lengthy pause, Henrik, Santos, and Colette traded looks and finally relented.

“You do have a point,” Henrik muttered with a sigh. “Alright, I’ll wait for another opportunity.” He cast Alban a sharp, warning nce. “But don’t mess this up. If I lose my chance to see them because of you, I’ll throw you out of this family!”

Colette and Santos immediately echoed, “Same here!”

“I won’t ruin this. I’ll win Gillian’s heart, and they’ll join us willingly,” Alban said with quiet sincerity.

He was resolute, even if he had no idea how long the road ahead would be. He decided he would give everything he had to win Gillian over and let fate decide the rest.

At that moment, his phone rang. He quickly opened the conversation with Gillian.

“Adide agreed. She wants to go out with you. Would you rather meet in the morning or the afternoon?”

Alban couldn’t hold back his grin, his fingers trembling slightly around the phone.

“I’lle pick you up in the morning. Let me organize the whole day. Does that work for you?”

Gillian responded almost instantly. “Alright, see you tomorrow.”

“Perfect. Good night. Be sure to rest well for tomorrow.”

“You as well. Sleep soundly. Good night.”

Smiling to himself, Alban eagerly began searching for ces suitable for children to visit the following day. His family gathered around, pitching in and tailoring the ns to Adide’s preferences. It wasn’t until well past two in the morning that they finally settled on a schedule, mapping out everything from activities to meals.

The following morning, Adide wrapped herself around Christina’s leg, tilting her face upward, her eyes bright with expectation. “Christina, can youe along with us?”

Christina smiled, reached down, and softly smoothed Adide’s hair. “I’ve got a few things to handle today, so I can’t. You go and enjoy yourself.”

“Then will youe with me next time?” Adide asked, her voice gentle and sincere.

Christina hesitated briefly, then nodded, warmth touching her expression. “Okay, next time I’lle with you.”

She never gave her word lightly. Children might appear careless, but they remembered promises with startling rity. If she agreed to something she couldn’t follow through on, she would look dishonest in Adide’s eyes, and that kind of disappointment could linger. That was why she only agreed to what she knew she could keep.

“That’s great!” Adide eximed, lifting her tiny hand in delight.
