Chapter 1670

    ?Chapter 1670:

“Elite marksman, championship racer, undefeated boxer, top-tier designer, concert-level pianist, art conservator, gambling prodigy…”

Colette recited Christina’s hidden identities one after another, each revtion striking harder than thest. Astonishment welled up within her. The Jones family’s daughter was nothing short of extraordinary.

“If she were my child, I’d be overjoyed beyond words,” Colette murmured, her eyes glistening with pure envy.

Sadly, she had only Alban — her sole son — and with his infertility, it seemed their bloodline would end with him. The thought pierced her heart, tears gathering in her eyes. They had nevermitted unforgivable wrongs. Why was fate severing their lineage?

“Remarkable,” Santos finally broke free from his shock, then muttered through clenched teeth, “Hurley truly lucked out.” Every syble dripped with jealousy.

Upon learning that the Jones family had reimed their missing daughter, Henrik’s mood sank even lower. His gaze drifted toward Alban, and he couldn’t stop sighing.

Alban understood their emotions — yet why was all of this being ced on his shoulders? They were looking at him as though he were the family’s greatest failure. His inability to have children wasn’t something he had chosen. He skimmed through the information again and couldn’t help feeling a twinge of envy at Bain’s fortune. Bain had gained such an exceptional sister. If only she belonged to the Martel family instead.

“Why couldn’t I have a daughter like that?” Santos murmured, heavy with longing.

Colette nodded. “If she were ours, I’d raise her as the most cherished princess alive.”

“That’s simple enough,” Henrik remarked casually. “Have Alban marry her.”

“Don’t forget Alban can’t have children,” Colette reminded him.

Henrik snapped back to reality, realizing he had momentarily overlooked that fact. He shook his head and sighed. “What a pity to have such a useless grandson.”

Santos followed with his own sigh. “How did I end up with such a worthless son?”

“Hey.” Alban looked straight at them. “What do you mean by useless? I’m not useless. I just can’t have children. It’s not like I’m incapable.”

The elders paid no attention to his protest, continuing to shake their heads andment. Exhausted, Alban fell silent.

At the Wade residence, the moment La stepped inside, three furious faces greeted her.

“What on earth did you buy at that auction to spend over three hundred million?” Zahir demanded, barely restraining himself, his hand trembling with the urge to strike.

La recoiled, tears welling in her eyes. “Dad, I didn’t want this. I had no choice. It was all Bonnie’s doing.”

“She forced you to spend that much?” Marsha asked, her brows drawn tightly together.

Through her tears, La cried, “She made me go all-in — twice. And Alban was there deliberately driving up the price. That’s how I ended up wasting so much money!”

“What?!” the Wade family eximed together, stunned. “She really made you bid that high?”

“Yes,” La sniffed. “She insisted on buying both the Emberbloom and Elderroot…” She lowered her head before revealing the final prices.

The Wades felt a wave of dizziness, nearly staggering. Spending such an obscene amount on those two pieces was sheer madness.

“La, you were reckless!” Jaxen groaned, his mind reeling. “Those things aren’t worth anything close to that. You werepletely yed.” The thought of outsiders mocking their family for raising such a fool made his stomach turn.
