Chapter 1624

    ?Chapter 1624:

“Look at her acting like she owns the ce,” the receptionist snickered. “Someone clueless might actually believe her.”

Her father gave a cold smirk. “I’ve met her kind too many times—women with no shame, trying to cling to Mr. Jones without ever considering whether they deserve his attention.”

Christina crossed her arms and watched them quietly, pletely unfazed.

They were celebrating while standing at the edge of a cliff. Their smiles wouldn’tst much longer.

“You keep saying Mr. Jones will remove us,” the receptionist taunted. “So where’s the notice? You really think a bit of makeup and a pretty face will get you anywhere near him? Don’t fool yourself.”

Christina replied evenly, “It’s on the way.”

The director scoffed. “No point wasting time on someone like her. Have security drag her out. We have work to do.”

“Security!” the receptionist yelled. “Get her out of Jones Group right now!”

Several guards hurried toward them, but the moment Christina fixed them with a cold, razor-sharp look, they froze in ce.

“Anyone who wants to leave thispany along with those two may follow their instructions,” she said. Her voice cut through the air like steel.

The guards exchanged uneasy nces, unwilling to move. The authority she carried was heavy—almost suffocating—and stronger than Bain’s usual presence.

If she truly held influence, defying her wouldn’t just cost them their jobs—it could ruin their entire futures.

After all, the Jones family wielded enough power in Lionesspaw to make even top government officials proceed with caution.

“You worthless bunch! Why are you standing around? Get her!” the receptionist shouted in frustration.

“You cowards—afraid of one woman?” the director snapped. “What does thispany even pay you for? I—”

His words died abruptly as his phone began to ring. He’d never feared that sound before, but this time his heart pounded as if the chime signaled his doom.

With trembling fingers, he pulled out his phone. The moment he saw the caller ID—HR—his breath caught in his throat.

Hands shaking, he answered. A cold, t voice spoke first. “You are dismissed.”

“What? I…” He tried to ask why, but the call ended before he could utter another word.

    It was over. Completely over.

His face drained of color. His grip loosened, and his phone dropped to the floor with a sharp thud.

“Dad, what’s wrong? You dropped your phone,” the receptionist muttered, frowning as she bent to pick it up.

Before her father could respond, her own phone began to ring. She nced at the screen, confusion creasing her brows. It was HR calling.

She answered hesitantly—but before she could speak, the same expressionless voice delivered the verdict. “You are dismissed.”

There was no warmth, no hesitation—just a final decision. She barely inhaled to respond before the line disconnected, cutting her off instantly.
