Chapter 1595

    ?Chapter 1595:

Men like Brendon were inherently unfaithful—she had learned that well enough. She was done with love. All she wanted now was wealth—solid, reliable, and incapable of betrayal.

Brendon finished the entire bowl, praising her cooking warmly. It never crossed his mind that the meal heplimented so fondly carried the slow, certain path to his end.

    A weekter.

“What did you just say? They stole the project again?” Brendon’s temper exploded.

Another one of the Dawson Group’s projects had been snatched away—this time by Lumina Haven Group.

It hadn’t been long since thest incident, yet that smallpany had taken another deal right from under him. If word got out, his reputation would be shredded.

Brendon’s jaw clenched. Lumina Haven Group had to be doing this deliberately—a direct challenge.

How dare a startup provoke him so openly? Weren’t they afraid of being crushed by the Dawson Group’s influence in Dorfield?

He mmed his palm against the desk and sprang to his feet, fury twisting his features.

The project manager flinched, standing rigidly to the side, sweat beading on his forehead.

At this rate, he was sure his job wouldn’tst much longer.

“Set up a meeting with Lumina Haven Group’s CEO. I want to see him,” Brendon snapped.

“Yes, Mr. Dawson.” The manager wiped his brow and hurried out.

Brendon sank back into his chair, a tight ache spreading across his chest. He drew several deep breaths, forcing himself to calm down.

He brushed it off as stress—too much anger, too many sleepless nights.

It never urred to him that Ynda’s poison was already working through his system.

    Later that afternoon.

A sharp knock sounded at the door. Brendon frowned, his tone clipped. “Come in.”

The door opened to reveal the project manager, his face drawn with unease.

Brendon’s expression hardened instantly. One look told him things hadn’t gone well.

“You got thrown out by Lumina Haven Group’s security?” he asked sharply—the worst scenario he could imagine.

“No,” the manager stammered, wiping sweat from his temple. He hesitated before adding, “Their CEO said… if you want a meeting, you’ll have to make the appointment in person.”

Brendon froze, disbelief shing across his face. It was worse than being tossed out.

The arrogance! Acting as if the CEO of the Dawson Group was beneath him—unworthy of even basic courtesy.

His jaw tightened, fury rising once more. The air in the office grew heavy with tension.
