Chapter 1524

    ?Chapter 1524:

Vickie’s jaw tightened, her fingers curling beneath the table. She hadn’t expected Chloe to side with the outsider.

They’d grown up together—how could Chloe betray her like this?

And Dn—hadn’t he broken things off with Christina?

Hadn’t he cklisted her from the entire industry?

Then why was he suddenly defending her?

Vickie’s little n had backfired spectacrly. She had meant to humiliate Christina, to show how out of ce she was. Instead, she’d only humiliated herself.

“Here, have some of the caviar you like. You’ll love it,” Chloe said, passing the chilled dish toward her.

“Thank you, Chloe. You’re always so thoughtful,” Vickie replied with a smile, trying to mask her simmering frustration as she lifted the small silver spoon.

The gesture soothed her bruised ego—if only slightly—and the tension at the table began to ease.

Across the table, Christina cast a sidelong nce at Dn. Their eyes met briefly, and the corners of their lips lifted in faint, knowing smiles.

In that instant, Christina understood exactly why Vickie irritated her so much.

She was one of those polished, two-faced women who yed sweet while scheming beneath the surface.

Had Vickie not tried so hard to embarrass her, Christina might have missed it—but now she saw her for what she was.

From the start, Vickie’s warmth had been nothing more than a disguise for the hostility she was too cowardly to show outright. And from this moment on, Christina knew one thing for certain—Vickie was not her ally.

“I’ll be right back. Need to use thedies’ room,” Christina said pleasantly as she rose from her seat.

Christina excused herself from the private room. Her phone suddenly rang—a call from her family.

    F??ll ?????????? ??????i?????????? ???? g??l??ov?ls.??????

She found a quiet, hidden corner and spent a few minutes chatting privately with them.

Once the call ended, she headed directly toward the public restroom.

However, the second her foot crossed the threshold, she instantly felt someone was trailing her, just steps away.

Christina’s brow furrowed. She recognized the familiar rhythm of those footsteps… No way!

She quickly whipped around—and of course, there he was. Dn.

Startled, Christina gripped his arm, scanning the area wildly, and hissed, “Are youpletely insane? This is the women’s bathroom!”

“Chill out. The screen outside confirms every stall is empty. It’s just us.” Dn stepped closer and smoothly wrapped an arm around her waist.

The restroom in Morfort Restaurant was high-tech; a disy screen near the entrance showed which stalls were free.

A red light indicated upied, green meant open.

If all were taken, one could easily find another restroom.
