Chapter 1512

    ?Chapter 1512:

He would stay by her side whether he liked it or not—and if he dared to leave, she would make sure he never drew another breath.

Even dead, he would still belong to her. She would keep his ashes close, a trophy and proof that Christina would never win.

Truth be told, Ynda hadn’t set out to ruin him. Not at first. But everything changed after her hospital visit two days earlier—after the doctor’s cold words shattered herst illusion.

She would never bear a child.

Her final chance to bind Brendon to her—gone in an instant. And with it, thest trace of mercy in her heart.

Ynda gently grabbed Brendon’s arm, her voice soft and yful as she whined, “Brendon.”

“Yes?” Brendon snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her.

“What are you thinking about? You lookedpletely spaced out…” Ynda asked, her voice sweetly artificial.

She had already peeked at the news on his phone. Feigning surprise, she covered her mouth. “Oh, wow! Christina’s trending again? Are the Hubbards and the Millers really teaming up to protect her? That’s wonderful—now she won’t have to face the Scotts alone.”

Her face disyed a smile of apparent joy for Christina, but inside, she was seething.

What did Christina ever do to deserve this? Why are two powerful families uniting just for her? Was the whole world blind? The thought made Ynda absolutely livid.

Brendon masked his slight irritation, put his phone away, and subtly withdrew his arm from her grip.

Before, when Ynda always defended Christina, he had seen it as proof of her kindness.

Now, it felt like mere contrarianism, and the sound of her voice grated on him.

The alliance between the Millers and Hubbards had upended all his ns. He saw no upside.

With two such powerful families backing her, there was no chance Christina would ever be forced to swallow her pride and crawl back to him for help.

Ynda watched him stand and quickly rose as well.

“Brendon—” She tried to link her arm with his, but this time he shifted just enough to avoid her touch.

Ynda’s jaw tightened. A cold dread settled over her. He seemed less interested by the day, the distance between them growing.

A sharp, dangerous glint shed in Ynda’s eyes. She knew she had to elerate her n to transfer Bethel’spany shares into Brendon’s name.

If, after all that, she still couldn’t secure his affection… well, she wouldn’t hesitate to be ruthless.

A man who wouldn’t be controlled was useless. It was wiser to deal with him decisively—before she lost both his devotion and his fortune.

That had been her original goal, after all. It was only because Brendon had loved her so intensely that she had let herself fall for him, briefly swaying from her purpose.
