?Chapter 1491:
He watched Robin turn to leave, but the tension in his gut only tightened. He half-expected Robin to double back at any moment.
Only when Robin’s figure disappeared through the ss doors of Scott Group did Edwin finally exhale in relief. He needed to warn Dn right away.
In the CEO’s office.
“Mr. Scott, Robin came by earlier looking for you,” Edwin said quietly, standing off to the side with respectful restraint.
“Hmm.” Dn didn’t even nce up from his work.
It was clear he didn’t see Robin as worth his time. Robin was probably here to y the hero for Christina—nothing more.
“Sir, I think you should be careful,” Edwin continued, lowering his voice further. “If he spots you, there’s bound to be trouble.”
“He’s no match for me,” Dn said tly, his tone carrying quiet dominance.
Whether it was in strength or in winning Christina’s heart, Robin had already lost—and he knew it.
“I just worry that if things get ugly, it could damage thepany’s image,” Edwin ventured carefully.
“No need for concern,” Dn replied coolly, brushing off the warning.
Right now, only one thing upied his thoughts: Christina.
Seeing that Dn had no intention of taking his advice, Edwin fell silent.
After all, Dn was a man who thrived under pressure—sharp, posed, and perfectly in control. Whatever came his way, he could navigate it with effortless precision.
A few dayster, Chloe returned from overseas and made her way straight to Dn’s home, dragging Morse along with her.
“Dn! What’s going on between you and Christina?” she burst out the moment she saw him.
Every tale finds a home at g?lnσν???s
“This is between her and me,” Dn said curtly, his expression unreadable. “It’s best if you stay out of it.”
Chloe crossed her arms, her anger ring. “Why shouldn’t I? I’m not about to stand by while you treat Christina unfairly!” Her voice trembled with emotion, but her stance was unwavering.
The old Chloe would have wilted under that icy stare, maybe even tried to charm her way out of an argument. Not this time.
“ring at me won’t change a thing! I’m on Christina’s side—no matter what!” she said, her face flushed with indignation. “I thought you cared about her! So why cklist her across the entire industry? What happened between you two while I was gone? I refuse to believe she did anything wrong—this has to be on you!”
She didn’t even give him the chance to respond before condemning him outright.
Her fierce, unshakable loyalty to Christina, though, stirred a flicker of quiet satisfaction in Dn.
His eyes drifted over the pair of them, cold and assessing, before he suddenly shifted the topic. “What’s going on between you two?”
The question was simple, but the weight behind it made Chloe’s pulse skip.
