Chapter 1480

    Chapter 1480:

“Celine owes you nothing—snap out of your pathetic delusion,” Christina said, her tone dripping with scorn as her gaze swept over the greedy, shameless Reynolds family.

They were fools and predators rolled into one. If they’d known when to quit, they wouldn’t be standing here exposed and cornered.

“You don’t get it!” Lorraine snapped, her voice cracking with rage. “I saved her life. She owes me that life forever, and she’ll never repay it!”

“But what if that little life-saving tale of yours… wasn’t true?” Christina said, her lips curving into a smile just sharp enough to provoke, her brow lifting in a silent challenge. “Would she still owe you anything then?”

The second those words hit the air, the entire Reynolds family went stiff. Every face locked up at once, as if someone had thrown a bucket of ice water across the room.

Fear flickered across all their eyes—quick, sharp, and impossible to hide.

A single panicked thought shot through them: Did Christina actually know the truth? Otherwise, why would she drop a bomb like that out of nowhere?

“I don’t know what you’re hinting at. The Miller family owes me a life. Simple as that,” Lorraine snapped, trying to force her voice into something steady while panic twisted in her chest like barbed wire.

Jerald jumped in immediately, his desperation showing. “Just let us go. Give us one billion. Hell, make it two billion, and we’ll call the whole thing settled. You can buy yourselves out of this debt.”

“Two billion? Are you kidding me?” Andrina barked, her control snapping. “We said half the Miller family’s fortune. Half. Not a damn penny less!”

Jerald whipped his head toward her and shot her a look sharp enough to cut. Unease chewed at him. His stomach twisted. Christina definitely knew something—she wasn’t bluffing.

If they could just grab some money from the Millers, even less than what they demanded, it was still better than walking away empty-handed and exposed.

Lorraine’s pulse hammered in her ears. Her palms were slick with cold sweat no matter how hard she tried to y calm.

Did that bitch Christina really know something? Or was she just bluffing to screw with them?

If the truth ever leaked out, their family wouldn’t just lose their money; they’d be ruined, destroyed, wiped off the social map.

Nothing was confirmed yet; she couldn’t afford to panic or slip up.

Christina was cunning as hell. Every move she made was calcted. Lorraine couldn’t afford to stumble into whatever trap she’d set.

“Well? Have you decided yet?” Lorraine snapped, her voice sharp with impatience. “Do what we say, and we’ll call it even. No debts, no favors, nothing left between us.”

The Millers didn’t even bother looking at her. Every pair of eyes was locked on Christina, waiting for her to speak.

“Christina,” Kurt said softly, his tone careful. “What exactly did you mean just now?”

Was there a secret about who had really saved his daughter-inw—something the Millers had never known?
