Chapter 1470

    ?Chapter 1470:

Half his hair had already turned gray from endless stress in histe thirties. His eyes were red and swollen, surrounded by deep lines that showed every sleepless night he had endured. Grief and exhaustion had aged him a decade beyond his years. His face carried the hollow look of a man who had done nothing but fight, grieve, and survive.

“Honey, everyone gets selfish sometimes—that’s just how people are. We don’t need to act like saints for others. But we should never harm someone who hasn’t done anything wrong. You have your ws, but I love even those. A person can’t live by staring at the bad in themselves. Your good is stronger—it always has been. Do you know why I chose to marry you? Because beneath that stubborn talk, I always saw a kind man. You’re responsible, determined, and good—someone anyone could trust. One day, our child will be proud to call you his father.”

He remembered his wife’s soft hand resting on her pregnant stomach, and the incredibly bright smile she gave him when they talked.

He knew he was never the great man she described, but in her loving eyes, he absolutely was.

She truly believed their child would grow up and be so proud of their dad.

But now, he was about to be a killer. How could he possibly still be the good husband his wife loved, or the father his child could ever look up to?

The moment he chose bloodshed, he knew he could never again be the man she believed him to be.

“Are you going to do this or not, you idiot?” Lorraine snapped, her tone sharp and impatient. “I’m telling you right now—you get one shot at this, and your kid only has one life to lose.”

Lorraine was rapidly losing patience. She feared the situation was spinning out of her control.

The driver’s eyes were red and tired, glistening as he clenched his jaw. His grip on the steering wheel was so tight that the cables of tendons stood out on his hands.

He thought of his wife, of his child. He finally made his decision—his gaze hardened with grim resolve.

    ???????????????? ?????????? ????: ?????????ν????????.??????

“Get out of the car,” the driver said atst, his voice low and deadly calm.

Lorraine froze, blinking in surprise before her lips curved into a delighted smile. “So—you’ve decided to go through with it?”

“Get. Out.” His tone hardened, every word sharp as steel, the weight ofmand impossible to miss.

Something in his voice sent a shiver crawling up her spine. “What’s that supposed to mean?” she asked, frowning.

“The deal’s off. I’m not killing anyone—and you’re not touching that girl,” the driver said tly.

Lorraine’sposure cracked. Fury surged through her. She stared at him, wide-eyed. How dare he back out now—at the very brink of victory?

All he had to do was take Christina away, and it would have been over.

Lorraine couldn’tprehend his sudden change of heart. “If you disobey me, your son dies! Your whole family will be gone by sunrise!” she hissed, her voice shaking with rage.

The driver’s expression didn’t flicker. “Then I’ll start by killing you.”

A sharp, mechanical click echoed as he hit the door locks.
