?Chapter 1465:
If she didn’t move fast, Christina could actually be Robin’s future wife—and snatch every single thing that belonged to Lorraine.
Lorraine pped a mask of forced calm onto her face and quickly stepped forward.
Feigning a look of deep regret, she said, “Christina, I sincerely apologize. I honestly thought you were exaggerating earlier, which is why I spoke to you like that. The situation was incredibly tense, and we couldn’t afford mistakes. I just panicked and ran my mouth. I hope you can forgive me this one time—I truly didn’t mean any of it.”
The apology was too long, too fake, and the whole room instantly became ufortable. The Millers’ celebratory smiles just died on their faces.
Lorraine was the one who dragged Celine here—and now Celine stood there, totally unsure how to even look at Christina.
Celine was in a tight spot. She knew Lorraine was a lost cause, but since Lorraine had saved her life once, she couldn’t tear into her the way she deserved.
Celine tried to teach Lorraine manners a thousand times, but Lorraine was a lost cause.
One had to bepletely brainless to willingly make an enemy out of a powerhouse like Christina.
Christina gave her a quick look, the edge of her mouth lifting in a subtle, unreadable smile.
If Lorraine was actually sorry, it’d be nothing short of a miracle. Who even flipped from hate to guilt that fast? Especially someone like Lorraine—it didn’t add up.
Christina didn’t need a second to realize something was off. This sudden humility reeked of nonsense.
Still, Christina kept quiet. No point in blowing up the act just yet.
If Lorraine was performing, Christina was happy to y her part. She wanted to see just what Lorraine was up to.
“We all screw up,” Christina said softly. “What matters is whether we learn anything from it.”

Lorraine rolled her eyes inside, thinking Christina was way too naive—but her face stayed perfectly sweet.
“I’ll change, I promise. This time for real. Please trust me, Christina,” Lorraine said, voice low and full of fake regret.
“Alright,” Christina replied, sounding sincere—but the slight smirk on her lips told a different story.
Someone like Lorraine turning into a better person? That’d take divine intervention.
People didn’t change easily. Not unless life knocked them t and broke everything they thought they knew.
Celine let out a quiet breath, thinking Lorraine had finally turned a corner.
If she didn’t mess up again, she still had a shot at a good future. Celine’s biggest fear was that Lorraine—who had every chance at a decent life—would wreck it herself.
“Call your parents—we’re all going to Morfort for dinner,” Celine said warmly, squeezing her hand.
Lorraine lit up. “Absolutely! I’ll make it up to her—public apology and all.”
