Chapter 1440

    ?Chapter 1440:

Inside, the Miller family, waiting to greet their mystery guest, couldn’t find their words.

And when she entered the casino, the entire hall went silent. Every gambler, every spectator, every staff member turned to stare—drawn not just to her beauty, but to the sheer power she carried in her walk. It wasn’t arrogance. It was dominance.

When Christina finally stopped in the middle of the room, she slowly removed her sunsses. The faint smile that curved her lips was calm, unhurried—and devastating.

That was all it took to break the silence. The whispers started again, spreading through the crowd like wildfire.

    “Wow… she’s gorgeous. And elegant. That’s a dangerousbination.”

“Who is she? And what’s she doing here? Don’t tell me she’s the one facing off against the challenger.”

“You don’t recognize her?” someone said, almost offended. “She’s the Christina—national shooting champion, piano virtuoso, racing legend Skybreaker, world-ss cultural restorer, fashion mentor to Allison, and even a professional boxer.”

“No way! That’s impossible! One person can’t be all that.”

“Look it up if you don’t believe me. She’s a walking record book.”

Phones came out instantly. Within seconds, the murmurs turned into collective awe. Screens lit up with headlines, news clips, interviews—proof after proof that every rumor was true.

There really was someone like her in the world.

Robin snapped out of his daze and looked over Christina’s shoulder. When he didn’t see the person he was expecting, his heart skipped.

He hurried toward Christina. He opened his mouth, ready to tease her about her dramatic entrance, but the words caught in his throat.

Remembering how Dn had cklisted Christina from nearly every circle, the humor faded from his face.

Instead, he said in a soft tone, almost careful, “What are you doing here? I’m sorry—I can’t really look after you right now. But I’ve put some money aside for you. It should be enough to keep youfortable for a while.”

He had done everything he could to stand by her, but he knew the limit of his strength.

If they lost this battle, the Miller family would start to crumble.

They were never a true match for the Scott family, yet he had still chosen to stand against Dn for her sake—fully aware of what it might cost him.

And the money… it was his way of making sure Christina wouldn’t be left stranded when things fell apart.

He’d even arranged it all the day before.

Christina hadn’t expected that. Even with chaos swirling around him, Robin had thought first of her safety. The gesture warmed her heart.

“I never expected that you’d turn out to be such a loyal and thoughtful man,” she said with a faint smile, patting his shoulder. “Seems I didn’t care for you in vain.”

The way she spoke—gentle, fond, like an older sister looking out for him—made Robin’s chest tighten a little.

But now wasn’t the time for sentiment. There were bigger things at stake.

“I’ll have Grandpa take you back to the Miller house,” he said finally. “Once this is over, I’lle find you.” He raised his hand halfway, wanting to touch her cheek… but stopped himself. “Don’t worry,” he said instead. “I meant what I said. I’ve already made sure your future’s secure. You won’t have to be afraid of anything.”
