Chapter 1396

    ?Chapter 1396:

After the dean left, Dn’s eyes turned icy. His grip on the cup tightened, radiating a dangerous edge.

“Turn over every scrap of proof on the Lloyd family’s crimes to the cops. They deserve total annihtion,” he said to Edwin.

“Yes, Mr. Scott,” Edwin replied, his expression grave.

The Lloyds had pushed too far by messing with Christina. Not one of them was worth a damn, and any disaster they faced was justified.

“Also, tear apart their whole shady businesswork and feed the police tips to nab every yer,” Dn went on, slowly turning the cup as he spoke with deliberate calm. “I don’t want a single one escaping.”

    “Got it,” Edwin answered respectfully.

“Be sure to tip off the prison folks to make their days miserable before the execution,” Dn added.

“No problem, Mr. Scott. I’ll see to it,” Edwin assured.

The Lloyds had crossed the line by going after Christina, and now they had to brace for a nightmare beyond death.

“Hurry it up,” Dn pressed, downing the coffee in one gulp.

“Yes, I’ll jump on it now,” Edwin said before exiting.

Dn’s thoughts snapped to Christina’s anxious expression, his forehead creasing with worry.

He wondered how she was holding up, knowing she must feel awful.

Uneasy and restless, Dn began pacing the office.

Their bond remained hidden, so he couldn’t rush to her side. For a split second, annoyance flickered—he hated that he couldn’t stand beside her openly.

But it faded fast, swallowed by worry for Christina. Joelle’s passing had cast a heavy cloud over her, and losing Ophelia on top of that might crush herpletely…

Time seemed to drag, each second stretching endlessly. For Ophelia’s family, every minute of waiting felt like an agonizing eternity.

They sat outside the operating room, pletely in the dark about what was happening behind those closed doors. Fear gnawed at them—if the surgery failed, Jordy might drown in guilt and remorse, unable to recover for the rest of his life.

The tension in the air was unbearable. No one could stay seated for long. The moment they sat down, they rose again, pacing restlessly as their hearts pounded with unease, the weight of anxiety pressing down on them.

Florrie kept wiping her tears, her eyes red and swollen from crying, her face etched with anguish.

“Mom, your eyes aren’t well. Please, don’t cry. Don’t worry—Ophelia will be fine,” Amaya said gently, trying to console her.

Garry nodded quickly. “Yes, and when Ophelia wakes up and sees you like this, she’ll only feel worse.”

Though burdened with their own fears, the couple forced themselves to remainposed, knowing they had to stay strong to face whatever came next.

“I’m so sorry—it’s our fault that Ophelia was hurt,” Beth said, her voice trembling, eyes rimmed with red.
